Really creative sandwiches!! I got the curry chicken which was very nicely flavored. My server was very friendly and welcoming. I guess their catchphrase is "f&$! Yeah" because every time I asked a question that was the response lol. He was very nice though. The inside area was typical for a more faster food option. An explosion of flavor! My workplace ordered takeout from here last Tuesday! I had never heard of this place before, so im glad they introduced me to it! I got the Lettuce wrap combo: bird island, with South African tea unsweet.. Because I'm a saucy girl, I also asked for the "hot as shit sauce." It's not very spicy--more tangy with a subtle kick--but still tasty. The chicken curry and other accoutrements were wrapped up tightly and neatly, making it surprisingly easier to eat than I had expected. It was so delicious and flavorful! I couldn't get enough of dipping my chips (yum!) in all of the sauces that came with my combo as well as pouring them on my wrap. The tea was also so delicious and refreshing. I'm a firm believer of sandwiches being on bread. If some sort of bread isn't involved I don't want it. BUT with summer being less than 70 days away and a few weeks into my no carbs fast I was starving and wanted a lunch option that wasn't a salad. Walked in here and it was lowkey dead, but it was clean and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The sauce here is the wow factor! The food here is good and pretty flavorful. If you get a sandwich combo you could easily spilt it between two people. The workers are really friendly and they'll allow you to sample something if your unsure if you'll like it. The chips are also very good and are well seasoned. My only complaint is that they use styrofoam for dine-in orders. Over time, the single-use plastic forks/cups and styrofoam boxes accumulate a ton of waste. Yummy! We discovered the original Zunzi's in Savannah when our daughter was in school there. So we have been super happy that one opened in Atlanta! Decided to stop by while getting my oil changed. I was excited to try the food because it looked amazing and came with high marks... but honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. I paid about $24 including tip for a pretty basic sandwich. I ordered the Number 1, which had a nice vinegar-based sauce, but it completely overpowered the other sauce. I couldn't even tell what it was supposed to be. The sandwich also wasn't hot, which did it no favors. The overall flavor reminded me of a subpar chicken Caesar sandwich. There was definitely much to be desired. I also ordered the curly fries, which were delicious! Hot oil, crispy, and easily the best part of the meal. The service was great, but the sandwiches need some work. I was also disappointed in the drink options. A specialty lemonade or signature drink would've paired perfectly with the menu and elevated the experience. I got the vegan Rising Sun sub, and my mouth was soooo happy! The vegetables (especially the mushrooms) are seasoned and cooked so nicely. I got a side of their Hot As Shit sauce to go with it, and I could put that on anything! It's a little spicy (depending on your tolerance) but has a lot of flavor -- not your basic hot sauce. Their service was above and beyond. The girl who greeted us went over everything on the menu for us newbies (I basically was since it had been so long). She answered all of our questions, and was super friendly. She made me feel comfortable. I got the last piece of bread that was already made and they made a fresh loaf for my gf's sandwich. When I sat down to eat it I realized my bread was stale and hard. I reluctantly took it back to the counter and the girl was too quick to take care of it, offered to make me the bigger sandwich than what I paid for (I told her that wasn't necessary) and then gave me a bogo chip to use on the next visit! Oh my Lord I have fallen in love with Zunzi's Food. First of all, I called early in the day and had to ask a lot of questions. What is this what is that. All of my questions were answered by a delightful young girl. Positive attitude and very helpful. We ordered the Booty Roll and the 3 Spread the + Pita. The Booty Roll, my choice was perfect in every way. I ordered it with everything on the side(I like to control the amount of sauce on all sandwiches! . The Booty consisted of a very long piece of Boerewors Sausage, Grilled Onions, Grilled Red Peppers, Zunzi's Gravy and Dank Sauce served on your choice of bread and I picked the French bread. The Boerewors was awesome. And all of the ingredients that make up The Booty Roll meld perfectly together. I just kept dipping and tasting! The French bread was some of the best that I have had. I recommend one ordering the French bread. The 3 Spread + Pita was also awesome. The 3 Spreads that we picked were 1 - the Avocado Spread, 2 - The Ziki Spread and 3 - The Curry Chicken Salad and it included tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions. All 3 spread were amazing and went very well together. Think our favorite was all of them. Can't rank them. The pita was great and we still have some and we ordered this food this past Tuesday. They must give one a whole piece of pita per number of spreads ordered. We ordered online and it was a great online ordering experience. Like the options of all the ingredients listed with an option of yes or no. Then remarks so I could get those sauces on the side. When we arrived our order had been placed on a shelf so we could just pick it up. This place totally gets safety precautions during the Pandemic. All employee were wearing masks - check. Tables socially distanced - check. And now for the winner...the packaging of the take out food. All food was placed in containers and then placed in a sealed plastic bag that must be torn when ready to open....Triple Check. I highly recommend and can't wait to return. It's my favorite sandwich on the menu, hands down. What separates a good sandwich from a great sandwich to me, is the bread. The bread can make or break the sandwich, and the french bread they use is top tier. It's really fresh, not to mention the sauces they have are very flavorful and compliment the sandwiches perfectly. I've been waiting for weeks to try this place and am so happy I made my way over. I ordered the Conquistador sandwhich (size regular) and pita bread with tzikti sauce and chicken curry spread. I looove sauces so I was in sauce heaven! The sandwhich comes with zunzi sauce and zunzi dressing, both are tasty but the zunzi sauce was my fave of the 2. The sandwhich itself is really good and also had a hint of spice. Also, the pita bread was quality and the tzikti sauce was one of the best I've had in a while. Anytime we are near a Zunzi's it's a must stop for our family. My first experience was seeing it on a travel show for the Savanah sandwich shop. My husband and I knew we would have to try this amazing chicken marinated in South African spices and topped with their famous Zunzi's sauce. In a trip to Savannah, we stopped there first and two more times again during our visit. It was so good we brought home a few bottles of their sauces. On a short weekend trip to Atlanta we were happy to discover a Zunzi's there! We planned to make room in our stomachs accordingly so we could savor the delicious flavors without having to leave any behind. Our go to is the Conquistador, their signature sub. It's that marinade and sauce that makes this sandwich so great! This Zunzi's location has a nice indoor dining area along with an outdoor patio. During this time with Covid they have hand sanitizer dispensers all over and have reduced capacity as well as social distancing marked throughout. The staff is super friendly as we've found the same at their other location. We of course bought plenty of sauce to enjoy at home again.
