After seeing Brooklyn Bagel & Deli come up a lot on TikTok and Google, we decided to try it since I'm always looking for a good NY-style bagel. Walking in, it was super busy and the line was long, but they moved very fast. It had that classic deli feel with shelves full of fresh bagels, pastries, and a huge breakfast/lunch menu. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with regular cream cheese and lox. We also got a ham & cheese sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar bagel. The only thing that threw me off was the service while ordering. The guy taking my order kept going on his phone during the interaction. I explained that I wanted the nova sandwich style but without the tomato, onion, or capers because I still wanted it closed-face with extra lox instead of the open-face version. He told me, "that's just a weird way to order it," which honestly felt unnecessary. The bagel itself was huge and heavy with a thick shmear of cream cheese. The lox tasted good, although I wish it was layered in slices instead of smaller pieces. Still, it came pretty close to that NY bagel taste I was hoping for. The jalapeño cheddar bagel was actually spicy and packed with jalapeños. We had to take some out, but the sandwich overall was really good. Classic 4-Star Breakfast Spot This was a really solid breakfast spot. The atmosphere was popping. I went on a Saturday and it was crowded in the best way you can tell this is a place people genuinely like and come back to. I got a bagel sandwich and a plain bagel. I'll admit I made a bit of a weird combo (that's on me), but both were still really good overall. Price was fair and affordable, which always helps. We had a couple of bagel sandwiches from Brooklyn Bagel & Deli at Ansley Mall this afternoon. They were pretty good. For Atlanta, I give this place four stars. These bagels weren't on the same level as the ones we've had in New York, though. We had the Classic Sliced Nova, which is a breakfast menu item, on an everything bagel and the Hot Reuben, which is a lunch menu item, on an onion bagel. We got them in the smaller "Atlanta" size for $11.99 each. The bigger "New York" size costs $16.99, I think. Both sandwiches came with a side. The lunch sandwiches also come with a dill pickle spear. Both sandwiches were tasty, filling, and satisfying. The bagels here are baked fresh daily. I thought they tasted pretty fresh with appetizing texture. The ingredients in the Classic Sliced Nova were well balanced with generous portions of both cream cheese and salmon. The sandwich also came with tomato, onion, and capers. I love Reubens. I thought Brooklyn Bagel & Deli's Hot Reuben was yummy, but missing something -- it could've used more sauerkraut. That said, there was plenty of savory corned beef and melted Swiss cheese (yum). The sandwich was made with traditional Russian dressing, not Thousand Island, which I prefer (Russian) because it's less sweet. We had the restaurant's homemade coleslaw and potato salad for our sides. My wife loved the slaw and said it was one of the better slaws she's had. I wouldn't go that far, but I did think it was above average. I liked the potato salad better. It was creamy and flavorful. Both sides were solid and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Overall, I thought the quality of the ingredients, both in the sides and the sandwiches, was good. We visited around noon today (Saturday) and it was busy. Service was good. There were three cashiers. They were no-nonsense and worked efficiently. The guy on the microphone, who called out order numbers when orders were ready for pickup, was friendly and funny. He kept customers updated on their orders and made sure they weren't forgotten. He also let whoever had Order #776 know that their order was getting cold and that it had finally gotten cold since it still hadn't been picked up after multiple call-outs. Haha. This Brooklyn Bagel & Deli location opened in August 2021 in the old Panera Bread space at Ansley Mall. This is a local metro Atlanta bagel chain. The original location opened in Johns Creek in 1997. A third location opened in Brookhaven in May 2025. A fourth location is slated to open in Sandy Springs in the near future. I've seen this business also referred to as "Brooklyn Bagel Bakery & Deli." In summary, we think Brooklyn Bagel & Deli is pretty good for Atlanta and convenient for the neighborhood and surrounding area. We'd come back. First time actually going to their location. I work at a coffee shop and we used to get Brooklyn bagels daily. I fell in love with their blueberry during that time and damn have I missed them. The bagels here are big and fluffy. If you want a compact ring of a bagel, this is not your spot. If you want doughy bagels that make difficult sandwiches but are delicious nonetheless, these are for you. Personally I love how their bagels aren't dense rings. Toast them and add a spread and they are perfection. There's no shortage of options at their shop. Choose from standards like everything to more exotic choices like French toast and rainbow. I forgot how amazing bagels could be. Okay, I've always loved bagels... and I enjoy them from various restaurants around town. However, typically it's either from my go-to of Einstein Bros, or even a classic bacon, egg, and cheese bagel from McDonalds. As much as I love Einstein's and as much of a guilty pleasure McDonalds is, the bagel quality just doesn't compare. I entered Brooklyn Bagel & Deli, and walked to the register for counter service. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. I could see some people sitting in the cafe, but I asked for my order to go. I ordered 4 bagels, sliced for later, but also picked up a couple of bagel sandwiches to eat for brunch. I got my boyfriend's mom a plain bagel with tuna, avocado and tomato, which they were able to customize for me. This came with a pickle spear as well as choice of side (I grabbed a bag of chips for her). The staff was accommodating and kind. For myself, I got the "Brooklyn Way" bagel sandwich (potato, egg, & cheese) on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. All of this plus tip was a whopping ~$42. Expensive, but it would prove worthy. The moment I got home and took my sandwich out of the bag, I could see that it was HEFTY. While huge, I somehow managed to eat the whole thing (because it was SO GOOD). The scrambled eggs were perfectly moist, the cheese was gooey, the potatoes had a nice crispy edge to them, and the bagel itself was perfectly chewy. Been meaning to try this place! The bagels themselves were really really good. The sandwiches themselves as a whole didn't necessarily amaze us, but the quality of the bagels great. I do wish my nova sandwich had more capers on it. My boyfriend wishes his sandwich had a little more flavor and cheese. Depending on what day or what time of day it is, that will be the deciding factor on how long the line is when you order. Yes, there is a chance to have a line. You order at the counter and take a number (on the receipt) so you will have to wait around. Now if its lunch on the weekends, you may be waiting for about 10ish minutes if its crowded, but just making sure you know! Even though it may not be fast, the service is still friendly though. Empire state (breakfast sandwich) - This was a solid breakfast sandwich. I got mine on a bagel, and they pack it full of breakfast dressings and melt it just right. NY three way (corned beef/pastrami) - This one was super good. Just the right amount of salty and savory in the sandwich. Came hot and moist and ready to eat. I dont think that I made it out the car with this one lol. The sandwiches come with a side, I can only speak on the potato salad and its pretty decent. Overall, this is a solid sandwich spot. We just got back from NY and we're already craving bagels so I quickly searched for bagel places in the area and it led me to this place! Glad we came there when we did because after placing an order, the line was out the door. It's counter service - just like a good ole bagel place is and I ordered Kipper the salmon scrambler with sourdough bagel, and my husband an egg bacon and cheese on everything bagel. We waited maybe 10 mins for our number to be called. My scrambler plate was okay - the highlight was definitely the bagel. I think they used boxed eggs and the salmon was super dry. Plus it was served with the smallest fruit cup known to man. My husband did enjoy his bagel but needed more eggs and meat. This definitely a good place for bagels and schmear but everything else is mediocre. Best bagels in town baby!!!! If you want to get this for breakfast on a weekend, I recommend getting here early to avoid the line. Bagels are bomb, so are the entrees. The coffee is ok not the main show stopper but it compliments the bagels well, plus you can get it while you wait. My favorite is the plain bagel with cream cheese. I mean everything else is good too but I love when they get the basics right. The restaurant is average, it's clean but nothing fancy , I like to get my bagels to go and eat at the piedmont park close by or something. Parking is a breeze. Making a trip to the Botanical Garden not far from here, I was excited to finally scratch my bagel craving after a few painful weeks. Having had only one true New York bagel, I was hoping to not be too disappointed. However, the large amount of bagels, spreads, sandwiches, wraps, and salads made that not even be a concern anymore. It is very clearly a busy establishment as all the cashiers were ready to take our orders immediately and efficiently. Flagels!!!! Do you know what a flagel is??? Imagine a delicious bagel that is flattened out. Not a bialy. It looks more like and Israeli style bagel (IYKYK!). I love the sesame flagel toasted with schmear. They definitely pile on the schmear which I appreciate b/c some places are so petty when it comes to it. They offer tons of types of bagels from the classics ET, Sesame, Poppy, Egg to the more trendy ones like rainbow and cinnamon sugar to chocolate chip to cheese. They also offer items to grab and go to make a bagel board. If you want a bagel pizza or a sandwich, they do offer those too. Since moving to the area from New York, I've been disparaging Atlantan bagels to friends as "round bread," but Brooklyn Bagel was the first place to hush me up with my first contemplative bites. The bagels we got here had some great crust and chew. We also managed to nab some fresh bagels so that the ones we got on our first (but certainly not last!) visit were warm in the bag. Bagels are clearly the name of the game here, but there are a tantalizing array of babkas at the very front of the restaurant, as well as a refrigerated section of prepared foods and dips. The menu is surprisingly stacked with options - both on and off their namesake baked goods. There are endless permutations of bagel sandwiches offered here, along with wraps, salads, bowls, and deli sandwiches (which can either be served on a bagel or choice of bread). I spontaneously ordered an egg and cheese sandwich, and received a bagel with layers of fluffy egg within. I came on a weekend, and from my vantage point in the dining space, there was a constant queue of folks hungry for bagels. That said, the cashiers are quick and the line moves with frightening efficiency, so much so that I'd actually recommend first timers step off the line and figure out what you'd like. My husband and I didn't do that, so when we hopped on the end of a seemingly long line, we were mildly alarmed to find ourselves before a cashier within thirty seconds without an order in mind. Orders that are ready for pickup are called out by number, and they use a mic and speaker to mitigate any confusion (in fact, the system is so well set up, I was amused to find that there are even speakers built into restrooms, so no worries about missing your order while you're in the loo). Even with the bustle of constant foot traffic and diners with to-stay orders, it's notable that the staff regularly come by tables to give them a sanitizing spray and wipe. read more

Bought 14 pumpernickel bagels. Cost $39! Was told there was $1 "upcharge" per bagel as they were considered specialty type. I've been in many bagel shops in multiple cities over the past 50+ years. Not one ever charged extra for pumpernickel, as they are considered basic, not special or fancy. The extra charge was not clearly posted anywhere. This is bogus pricing. There was also a 3% surcharge for paying with credit card. This was not clearly posted either. I know some gas stations do this, but I've never been in a store or restaurant that adds this surcharge. I wrote to customer service on their web site to ask about all this to see if maybe the clerk made a mistake. No response after nine days despite notice stating message was received and would be replied to shortly. A shabby way to treat customers. The food is excellent. That is not the problem. Bagels are an extremely unique item, as there is never neutrality associated with them. People either love or hate bagels. There is just nothing in the middle (yes, pun intended). Brooklyn Bagel is a second outpost of the family run establishment and the first within the city limits. Alan Ahlzadeh owns Brooklyn Bagel with his son, Avi, which opened the Johns Creek location in 1997 and the Ansley Mall location opened up in 2021. This location is in Ansley Mall, which is undoubtedly one of the saddest examples of strip mall concepts plaguing the city, is almost unnoticeable. That architectural distress is not the fault of Brooklyn Bagel, but just a fact. The restaurant occupies a former Panera Bread location and inside, is a fairly bland place. There really isn't anything notable about it unfortunately and it does not have the character that a family owned spot like this should have. Ordering process was smooth, but staff working the counter seemed to have a tough time providing any recommendations. They also did not ask if the order is for here or to go, thus making an assumption that it's to go. This resulted in a preparation of a bagel sandwich that can't be photographed without making the meal look highly unappetizing, very sloppily packaged. Yet, the area where Brooklyn Bagel gets it perfectly right is a spectacular bagel, with delicious deli meat. The bagel was a great balance of crisp and chewy, with more heavy emphasis on the crisp side. Classic side of pickle is all that one needs to put a seal on pure satisfaction. Solid place for a bagel in Atlanta. The location has a large free parking lot that can be crowded on weekends but there's definitely still parking even if you have to walk a bit. The weekend lines here can be long but it does move very quickly. There's a good amount of seating inside, but you can't always snag one with how many people come here. I grabbed the Sliced Nova on an everything bagel and got a side of fruit. It's a little steep for a bagel but you're strapped to find one any cheaper in Atlanta. The fruit cup was unbelievable small so def cannot recommend that. Get any other side. I added on some hashbrowns and I LOVE potatoes, but these were forgettable. Just looking at them you can see they weren't crispy and they weren't. Fell greasy and flat. Once they did call I sat down to eat this bagel. The only true thing that was New York was the amount of cream cheese they used. It was a lot. However, the cream cheese was flavorless.
