    a plate of food

I came across this hole in the wall a spot as I was leaving plaquemine Louisiana. So I've decided to grab something to take home so I wouldn't have to worry about cooking. I ordered the chicken shawarma and gyro plate. Overall the food was pretty good. I'd say it was light on the portions for the price. But I am comparing it to Zeus's in Moss Bluff Louisiana where the portions were huge and the flavors were huge. The lady that serving was very nice and helpful. I'd eat here again if I were in a pinch.

Underrated Greek in our small town! Salad dressing is unmatched. Of course it's what you expect at your typical Greek and Lebanese restaurant but it's definitely my favorite. Spinach pies are excellent and I love the shawarma quesadillas. Always a great salad as well. I hope they stay great.

Great food and great people, nice selection and the prices are good. They do need a bigger parking lot!

I started off with that melt in your mouth Caesar carpaccio (raw ribeye but make it fancy) and those crispy crab arancini with the rich smoked tomato hollandaise; straight flavor bombs. For the main, the squid ink spaghetti with shrimp + jalapeño pesto was DIFFERENT in the best way! And that veal milanese over red wine risotto? Crispy, tender, and packed with flavor every bite. Dessert sealed the deal! King Cake panna cotta with orange curd was smooth, creamy, and perfect for Mardi Gras season. Then the vegetarian baked ziti - of good size and definitely shareable, I ended up bringing a box home, also delicious. Their wine and cocktails list was pretty extensive as well. The temperature of the inside was a bit on the chilly side, so a light sweater or jacket would be needed. Everything was so nice and would def return the next we are in BR.

Soft lighting and subdued music gave it an intimate feel. We decided to do an assortment of appetizers and desserts so we could try more things. We opted for 4 appetizers, the famous bread, a cup of a soup and two desserts with cappuccinos to complete our meal. You do have to pay for bread here, but trust me, you're going to want to. We got some red sauce to go with it, but we both personally preferred the bread without it. Next we got a cup of lobster bisque. The flavor was good , and there was a surprising heat to it, which honestly made me want to keep eating it. For appetizers, we ordered the seared ahi tuna, the eggplant stacks, the toasted ravioli and the beef manicotti. However, they were out of the manicotti so Joel suggested the seafood stuffed mushrooms, and I'm glad he did! I'm not a big mushroom fan, but I gladly ate these and would order them again. My complaint is that there are only three ... and I was sharing them. For dessert, we got the crème brûlée and the Italian brownie cake. The crème brûlée was perfection and the brownie cake was deliciously rich and satisfying. There are so many dishes that we want to try that we can't wait to go back!

Since it was dinner time, I searched Yelp for restaurants and discovered many are inside the casino and most were closed on Tuesdays. The few exceptions were fast food joints, several Mexican joints, and Habibis. I chose Habibis and liked it so much that I convinced my team to come back the next day for lunch. It is that good. For dinner, I had beef kabobs. They were among the best kabobs I have ever had. Tender pieces of beef flavored and cooked perfectly. Yes, please. For lunch, I had the combo shawarma and gyro plate. It was as good as the beef and among the best that I have ever had. Would I go back to Marksville just to eat here? Probably not, there is not much else to do in town if you don't enjoy casinos. Will I be back here to eat if I am in town for work? Hell yes. If you find yourself in Marksville, you should make sure and try Habibis.
