My close friend and I stayed at Oleo for 5 days in January. We had a great stay! Our check in was smooth and quick, we had a mimosa, were given an overview of the space and surrounding area and brought up to our room. Our Inspira junior suite had a beautiful view of the beach which was always kept clean. After one of the days that it rained a lot, staff were out cleaning up the seaweed that came ashore. Also, when you book the Inspira room you have a selection of free Starbucks coffee drinks that are included with your stay. Our TV in our room had YouTube available which was great for music, and also the menu for room service was available on the TV. You also have two fans, as well as AC in the room. We always had enough toiletries, soap, shampoo, etc. The staff was so helpful from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. They were always there to greet us, make sure we had enough drinks, food etc. They also offered boxed lunches for when we had an excursion planned. Our flight was at 7pm, so we had to leave the hotel at 4pm on our check out day but they allowed us to check out at noon and still use the facilities while they stored our luggage away. We were also able to get a "hospitality room" for 30 minutes prior to leaving to shower and change which was really helpful! Since we did go in January, there were two days where it was pretty windy and a warm hot tub would have been amazing but sadly the hot tub was cold. Again- I'm sure that would've been satisfactory in the summer months. Helpful items: -Can catch the bus right outside the hotel on the sidewalk. -Airport is about 15-20 minutes away and 'downtown' area is also only about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. -Mojitos here are amazing! -Very clean property -Are able to stay on property after check out -Room service is quick (about 15-20 mins) -Food is GREAT, especially by the pool (chicken quesadilla, nachos, buffalo wings and fries) read more

So impressed by hotel Oleo! When we arrived a little after noon, we were warmly greeted by hotel staff in the beautiful glass-encased lobby with a mimosa and a cool towel. The staff took time to explain the hotel to us, draw out a map with nearby destinations, and answer all of our questions. This was my husband's and my first time at all inclusive resort. We were a little hesitant, but man was it worth it to come to Oleo! The food was amazing! Breakfast was an extensive buffet of Mexican empanadas, tostadas, and beans, eggs made to order, a plethora of fresh, tropical fruit, and deli meats and cheeses. The coffee is great but there's also a Starbucks on site. Lunch included a pasta bar, salad and veggie options, and tons of desserts! We even ordered lunch most days right off the beach! We had dinner at both restaurants - Almar and Hakka. Both were great but Hakka was amazing - for the same meal in the DC area, where we live, we would have paid more than $100 for both of us. When we told him how much we loved everything, the chef brought us out extra sushi. We were in heaven!! The drinks were awesome! As someone else mentioned, not super strong, but we drank a lot!! Mojitos, pina coladas, daqueries, beer-- all was great! Especially when the waiter brought it to us on the beach!! What I haven't seen mentioned in many of the reviews here is the quality of the facilities. It's impeccably clean here. The staff is well trained and attentive to every detail. No stone is untouched. Our room faced the garden and was updated, clean, and spacious. We enjoyed the gym and even got to play ping pong several times! The staff really goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and spoiled! We had an amazing vacation and literally the only time we left the premises for the six days we were there was to go parasailing right outside the beach zone! The only minor negative feedback I have is that the vacation club sales pitch we attended was a little aggressive and misleading. We weren't interested and had to beg to leave at the end of our 90 minute session. They handed us off to different "supervisors" through the experience who repeated the same information. I didn't feel the pricing was transparent or uniform, and they really pressured us to make a decision regarding a $13,000+ investment in an hour long period. Because we attended the session, we did get pesos to use at the gift shop and spa, and access to the hydrotherapy and sauna at the spa which was nice. So just keep that in mind! This was an amazing deal for us ($175 ish/night price we found on Expedia 6 months in advance), and an even better experience. We can't wait to come back to Oleo! read more

I really enjoyed our stay here. If you're looking for a party style all-inclusive resort, this is not it. It is more family-friendly and is a boutique-style resort. It is very small and very personal. The service is exceptional and we met many wonderful people here. The rooms have been nicely remodeled and are very spacious. We stayed in the inspira junior suite with ocean view and it was perfect. The food is good although you have very few choices. We sampled a little bit of everything and had a good experience everywhere we went. The ceviche is the best I have ever had anywhere, and that's a lot of different ceviches. It was perfectly prepared and the chips that were served with it were exceptional. However, the guacamole was truly the worst I have ever had. It was inedible! There were so much lime put in it that you could not pallet it. I tried it a second time just to make sure it wasn't a bad batch and unfortunately had the same experience. Worst hotel experience I had in my life! The hotel is old and poorly maintained. We paid for the Inspira suite and it was really bad. We have waited more that an hour to check in even though we told them in advance when we will arrive, plus when you book their expensive Inspira suite you are supposed to get a welcoming gift in your room, we never got anything. Room: Dirty bedsheets, dirty towels, paint is falling off the walls, blood in the hallway was sitting there for 5 days, someone stuck hair to the ceiling with the sticky tape! The ceiling fan was damaged, they have the option to connect 2 rooms so you will find a small door in your room that is locked if you don't need to connect with the other room. The problem there was that they put us in the room connected to the room that has broken windows and is out of use, so I needed to put towels underneath that door so that cockroaches or something similar doesn't come to our room. Yes, we saw cockroaches around the pool and on the side of the buffet restaurant almost every day. Food is a joke I will say just that! 95% of the guests are locals. For two days out of 5 that we stayed there next to the buffet restaurant and Gym was a very strong sewer odor, I don't know if some pipe got broken or what but it was baaad. This is not a 5-star hotel by any means, this is a 2-star hotel in the best case. We left 2 days earlier because of everything that I mentioned, without any possibility for even a partial refund. This hotel is one big joke. My advice is, spend your hard-earned money somewhere else. First time to Mexico and so glad I chose Oleo! With so many hotels to choose from it's overwhelming but hopefully this review will help you decide why Oleo is a win. Service: top notch staff who genuinely care about the guests and provide superior service always friendly and with I cannot say enough nice things about everyone I interacted with. Gerson, Mauricio, Christopher to name a few. Food: has 3 restaurants on site so you don't have to leave and have variety. And the food is amazing! Breakfast has a variety of authentic Mexican options and was one of the most meals I looked forward to the most. Hakka, 7 course Japanese meal was divine, and Almar's Mediterranean inspired lunch and dinner was sinful. Things to do: resort has daily activities plus entertainment at night. There is a travel planning service on site so you can easily plan excursions. Rooms: ocean front room had spectacular views from every angle. I could see the sunrise and sunset. Housekeeping kept the room clean during our entire stay. Beds were comfy but pillows were a little lumpy. No big deal as I was barely in the room. Amenities: pool area was nice with lots of chairs, swim up bar, and table service. On site spa and gym but I used neither. Too busy lounging around. My one and only complaint about Oleo is there aren't enough beach chairs for guests so if you want one you have to come out extra early and claim one by putting your towel on it. Everything that was wrong: The hospitality, and lack of service, I had to be passed to a minimum of four "coworkers" to receive half an answers. The rooms were dated with congestive circulation. Room service was subpar at best ,not changing and receiving dirty linens. The profiling and constant verification of room status and services was beyond insulting. While I had a real blast on my vacay at Oleo, my 3 stars just reflects the fact that the resort is obviously under construction with many moving parts that are not yet moving properly. So much potential! I'll start with the good stuff though: One thing that really stood out to my friends and I was the food! Many all-inclusives are lacking in this area, but Oleo definitely gets it right. Plenty of different options to choose from and stellar service from their staff around the clock. The Japanese restaurant on property, Hakka, is worth a visit. Reservations are required a day in advance, as the space is pretty small, but again, the food was delicious. Small portions though, so order more than you think you want. Oleo has a decent pool and a very clean stretch of beach where servers will happily deliver you drinks all day long, but the real gem was the spa. The infinity pool up there is the perfect semi-secret spot to relax an evening away, then hit the steam room and sauna. Only one of the smaller pools gets warm though, so don't be fooled by the bubbles. Our room was on the 6th floor. and our elevator didn't work on the way down for the entire trip, so that was kind of a thing. Also, the large hot tub near the main pool wasn't working at all yet. They're also still finishing construction on the entrance that will soon offer an instant view of the ocean as guests arrive. I look forward to going back once they get it together. All in all, this is already a nice resort that makes up for it's smaller size in many other areas. This was our amazing hotel when bf and I went to Cancun. Josesito is the amazing poolside bartender. He's friendly, and he always asked us how are days were and made great drinks. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. Our room was perfect..super comfortable, and beautiful!! We also got to release thousands of baby turtles into the ocean, which they do every night!! The lobby bar is fantastic as well, and lots of fun board games to play lol. read more

Óleo is a boutique resort. It is perfect spot to relax ( I mean relax). The inspira package is great for the free Starbucks, and welcome package and for the section on the beach (softer beach chairs). The service was absolutely wonderful!!! Every single person I interacted with was so friendly and nice and helpful. Everyone was happy yo be working in paradise. As the resort is small and cozy you get a chance to have real conversations. This is a nice boutique all-inclusive hotel. It's on the southern end of the Zonea Hotelera away from the nightlife and clubs. It was recently renovated, so the buildings are clean and in good shape. There are 3 restaurants on the property: the main buffet restaurant that serves every meal, a Mediterranean restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant which only serves dinner. Reservations are easy to make at the Mediterranean and Japanese restaurants. Positives: Food was delicious! Staff was conscientious and made sure to ask about food allergies. Room service is offered 24 hours a day. Bartenders aren't skimpy with the alcohol as a lot of all-inclusive resorts can be. All of the staff were super helpful and kind. Service is top notch. Negatives: Hotel is located at the southern end of the Zonea Hotelera (hotel zone) 15-20 minutes from the nightclubs and markets. Good if you want a quiet beach vacation, bad if you want to see more of Cancún. The hotel could use more activities, especially in the evening. During the day, there were some beach and pool volleyball games and the occasional dance lesson, but no water sports or recreational activities. The standard rooms are a bit small (no chair or desk in the room). The hotel is listed as "adult only" on a lot of travel sites, but definitely allows children. Tip: You will be invited to sit through a 90 minute timeshare sales presentation in order to get a 20% discount at the spa and 2,000 pesos. Do so at your own risk. read more

I went here for a birthday vacation and was very disappointed staying at The Oleo resort. The place is dated and needs renovating. They use old pictures to lure people into staying here, thinking it looks nice and is of quality. Not even 24 hours after checking in, I was asked if I wanted to purchase an Inspira vacation membership and had to listen to an hour and a half presentation. They even charged another couple $50 if they backed out of attending the presentation, in which they paid. The food sucks. Everything needs seasoning, is dry, and don't have much variety. They have no activities on-site. The staff is alright. You end up cleaning your own room because it's not cleaned very well. The elevator is slow and eventually, one stopped working. My husband arranged to take a boxed lunch to one of his excursions that we specifically requested that consisted of chicken, that never arrived. When he picked it up at the front desk, he later learned that it was a ham sandwich. He cannot eat pork! So, he was hungry all day until 8pm. We ended up eating in restaurants because the food was so bad although, we paid for all inclusive. We took a few lukewarm showers and the place is not being cleaned very well. The towels are dirty, stained, frayed, and almost falling apart. They need to invest in new ones. I definitely can go on about how this place is not what you'd expect for what you're paying for. Please, look elsewhere for a resort. The Oleo is overpriced and not worth your hard earned money. It's better resorts in the hotel zone that offers better service, activities, and food. Unfortunately, I will not be returning on our future trips to Cancun. read more

This hotel has the potential to be great. As has been mentioned by previous reviewers the management are just quite mean and very keen to get as much money out of you as possible. Firstly on our first day we had spilt something on the floor and was accused by the hotel management of damaging a towel with vomit, it was Metamucil - they wanted to charge us 200 pesos as the towel needed to be removed from service to be deep cleaned. After complaining about the wrongful accusation and explaining that it's a bit cheeky to try and charge us for a towel given the genuine state of the room. See photos. The charge seemed to disappear after the hotel manager working in the front desk refused to give her name to agent serving us. For our last day. I like to consider myself as well travelled and have stayed in many all inclusive hotels around the world - never have I known a rule that this hotel adopts which is that on your departure day your use of everything the hotel ceases at 12:00. Most flights back to Europe leave in the evening our pick up is for 1500, so unless you pay an additional charge of 10 USD per person, per hour you are only permitted to sit in the lobby but cannot use any of the facilities. So for a family of 4 that would be an additional 120 USD. I was staying in room 3005, my parents in room 3109. The balconies don't look safe, and don't appear to properly fixed to the walls be careful with kids. In my room there was a big crack in the main the window that had been taped up. The balcony door also wouldn't lock. I tried to complain about these things to the front desk and the manager didn't care. The bath room doesn't look great either, needs a deep clean and lick of paint, the door was going mouldy. Generally the room is tired and lots of chips out of walls and doors everywhere. Now for the rest, I was worried when I read other reviews about the food, personally I didn't mind the food, it's not going to be for everyone - the main restaurant is more locally themed, if you want more spice the sauces are on the side. At breakfast you can get bacon at the egg station, it was busy between 8:30 & 9:30 in the morning. The poolside food is good and in the evening you have the choice of 3 restaurants Asian and Mediterranean are a la carte, the food was good and there is no limit to how many times you can go, you can't book you might just be told to come back in 20 minutes. The main buffet restaurant is open til 11 pm every night. The coffee shop does light snacks (some are not included) and great coffee. The poolside staff are fantastic, they work really hard and are very friendly - the entertainer was good he brought everyone together with a daily music themed quiz, aqua aerobics and other pool games. Evenings, the entertainment is either karaoke in the main bar or a live singer. The staff on the main bar are also very friendly. There is a shop on sight, but if you head across the road to OXO it's cheaper. Smoking laws are strict in Mexico, you can only smoke at the front of the hotel. The beach has tourist police on it that may fine for smoking there. The tour bookings office on sight was really helpful, I would recommend doing the tour to Tulúm, Cenotes and Snorkelling. We also went to Ventura Park - a very old wet'n'wild water park and went to Coco Bongo, all were booked here and the prices were reasonable and discounted. read more

My husband and I went with our two young kids (8 and 4 y.o) and his brother's family (wife + similar aged kids) in the last week of December 2023. The manager, Julia, let us know that the resort offers kids activities in an area (Kids Zone) designated for kids literally 5 steps away from the beach; when we went to Kids Zone, we saw that it was one staff member, Abigail, handling 10 kids. I asked her what she'd do if a kid tried to leave the place as she'd need another person watching the other kids while she ran behind the runaway kid; she said the door is very heavy to handle and that she's very vigilant. Cut to two days later, we were in the hotel lobby checking out when I saw my 4 y.o. wandering around near the coffee bar/cafe (Brown Bag) when he was supposed to have been two floors down at Kids Zone. I whisk him to safety, notice that I see ZERO resort staff members running around looking for him, and run downstairs to Kids Zone to see Abigail coolly chatting with another mom about the activities Kids Zone offers. When I asked her why my son was wandering where he shouldn't have been, she said that the mom outside came with her kid, she opened the door and my son ran out, and that she couldn't run behind him because the other kids needed her around. She casually asked me to talk to the manager. I walk up to see Julia again, I brief her on what had happened, and she had the audacity to mention that *at least my son had been found safe*. Zero remorse, zero apology, she went into full defense mode explaining how there's no record of this ever happening in the history of the resort. The sheer lack of accountability, the blatant disregard for the magnitude of the situation, the complete lack of value of and responsibility for a small child's life and wellbeing are all beyond appalling. If this had happened in the US, it'd have resulted in a lawsuit. Protect your loved ones; find another resort instead. read more

Things I liked: Beachfront property - the stretch of beach behind this resort is gorgeous! Resort is small - everything is within a short walk of your room. The on-site Covid testing center for resort stayers ($28 a test). There are 2 really great restaurants and a OXXO (think 7-Eleven) across the street where you can buy water and snacks. Things I did not like: The food-not worth the all inclusive $$ The little beach tents provided are dirty/stained and all claimed by like 8:30am so good luck sleeping in. The hot tub says it's for 18 years + but no one enforces that and it is overrun with kids in snorkel gear swimming around. This hotel is terrible. Photos looks great but when you get to the room, everything is super old, dirty and broken--shower has not hot water!!!!. The phone doesn't even have labels, you don't even know how to dial anything. Barely any lounge chairs with umbrellas and you can't move an umbrella over bc most of them are broken or they can't be used at the lounge chairs....the pools are tiny and the food is just so gross. Some of the staffs are nice but most are just not nice. :( room service is always missing items from orders. I've been to Cancun so many times and I have to so this is the only experience I feel terrible. Don't be fool by the photos online. It is nothing like it. read more

When you complain they offer compansation if you sign a NDA stating you will not complain, and give a positive review through the agency you booked your trip through! I couldn't understand how they had so many great reviews on Expedia, when everything clearly Sucks! From the moment you step in the lobby they try to sell timeshare. When you say no give me my room they try to introduce you to another salesman. I had to get loud, before they stopped. But if your the timid type, you will be in the lobby and talk to 5 people before you see a room. The hotel is 20 yrs old or more and it shows. They say it was completely redone in 2017 NOT! They are understaffed, so your going to wait a long time for everything. The food was subpar, with no variety. The meat's they use is low quility. No shrimp! You can only get frozen drinks at the pool bar. $75 fee if you lose a towel. Room service took over an hour ea. Time when ordering a BLT. Pool is tiny! The floors are so slippery everywhere, doesn't make sence. I saw several people of all ages slip and fall. The entertainment Was a Joke. They spayed bug spray in my hall every day, and it stunk up the room. The windows didn't open to air out. I knew I should have stayed with a chain. Feista Americana Condensa is my favorite 4 star resort! Night and Day difference! read more

Stayed here during the middle of August and we were very happy with our visit. Here's a couple things to note for anyone considering Oleo: - Oleo is at the southern end of Blvd Kukulcan. There isn't much near so you'll eat most if not all meals at the resort. Room service can get old if you're going for a long stay. - Take $1 bills. Each bus ride will cost $1 each way per person. Much easier to pay this way than with pesos and get coins back for change. - Tip the bartenders, maids & room service with $1 bills. - Make reservations at the restaurants on site at Oleo! The food is delicious and included!! If you're gonna stay at Oleo, then plan on spending all your time there. There's not much nearby, but Oleo is a great place to be! Don't let the location fool you. The beach is 10/10 and the resort has everything you'll need. read more

This place is off the hook. $200 a night for all you can eat and drink and an ocean front room. Sure the food is great but not the best, and sure the drinks are middle shelf, and sure the hot tub is cold. Blue water, great weather, and incredible service with unstingy servings of everything they have to offer. If travel was this easy and this affordable I'd do it more. Very safe too. We actually stayed at 3 different places in Cancun this trip for a wedding, including a "5 star" resort. This was the best. Oleo!!! read more

Booked this hotel through Expedia. The hotel was beautiful the location perfect. Close to the airport and a short bus ride to the mall. Almost everyone we encountered was friendly and attentive. I would of rated it higher but we had a few issues, first issue was we called to have our fridge restocked and they told us they would bring up the drinks, they never came. The next day we called again and they said they where all out till tomorrow. Not a huge issue. The biggest issue we had was the Expedia guy they have working there. Fernando totally ripped us off on our excursions so anyone going there BEWARE of him. We confronted him and Alfonso the front desk agent who recommended him (I think they work together to rip the single Ladies off) and Fernando admitted he didn't give us what he sold us but stayed he couldn't refund us any money all He could do was give us private transportation back to the hotel!!! We also got suckered into doing a presentation which is basically a time share but they will not say it is one. And wasted half our day for basically nothing! We got some honorary bracelets that we could use at the Starbucks there in the hotel and when we tried using them they said we weren't even on the list, very disappointed! read more

Overall i really enjoyed my stay at Oleo, i'm breaking the review into different components as there were some positives and negatives Location- towards the south end of the hotel zone, very convenient access to buses that are dirt cheap to use. you can get to downtown cancun for about 45 cents Rooms/View - the rooms were updated and very well kept, our room was really nice and i could hear the ocean with the balcony slider opened a bit.. the rooms were above average Beach - Wonderful beach, really happy with the beach. The water was blue there was not much seaweed and the beach was overall very well maintained. our friends stayed at a resort closer to downtown cancun and their beachwater was brownish/red due to seaweed..kinda gross really glad Oleo ocean water was nice and blue Pool/Spa - the pool area was average, two relatively small pools and the hot tub is not hot at all.. it was as cold as the pools. don't come here expecting to enjoy a hot tub Food - Wow Hakka was amazing.. beyond amazing. it was a six course meal that really impressed. it took 2+ hours but a very very nice dining experience. the other restaurant was so so, they serve steaks and Mediterranean food but i was not blown away by the food but the service was top notch. our Server Christian really did an amazing job. the buffets are average and somewhat limited. the cafe by the pool had really good food the tacos and ceviche were excellent, i should have ate there more often Entertainment - they have various theme nights such as casino night, dj night, karaeoke night, etc. very fun but this was pretty much the extent of the entertainment. Service- didn't love the checkin process, they seemed understaffed but the service at the buffets/pool/restaurants/bellhops was all above average Drinks- as expected they are not very strong but nonetheless they are free. they have dos equis lager and amber on tap which was good, the bourbon and vodka was pretty good but the mixed drinks are kinda weak.. you can always ask to get a shot on the side and then add it to your drink. If you want a five-star experience on a two star budget Óleo is the place for you. This hotel proves you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a wonderful experience. The staff was beyond amazing , the service was excellent the food is outstanding. Iliana & Mari are excellent at their job and provide amazing service at the drop of a hat. And if you want to have a great time in a club see DJ Carlos who will proved and amazing night out . Only down fall is at some point you have to leave lol . Will be visiting again . read more

The staff was wonderful and the room was amazing. The only two major downfalls were the food at the restaurants were way below my expectations. It was like holiday inn morning complementary breakfast. The room service was horrid. The food tasted bland, the menu was limited and you had to be willing to wait extra long to even get your food. Sometimes they even forgot the order. And as for housekeeping, need toilet paper? You have a better chance if you go across the street to circle K and get it yourself. Such a shame the location is gorgeous and the staff are so kind and helpful. But the service and food is at 1 star (if that ). We stayed here in first week of December 2018 for 10 days. read more

Not to be trusted I was informed that to upgrade to premium alcohol it would be $40 a night which is fine because they don't offer the best selection of tequilas. I booked Inspira so the daily rate discount. Not only did they over charged by card but second night they ran out BEFORE midnight. Bar closes at 1AM. I couldn't even take a birthday shot. I spoke with Julia and ensure that for the remaining of my trip please have my requested alcohol of choice being I paid an additional amount to no be forced to have what they offer in all inclusive. Well moving forward they thought I would not notice that a different alcohol was placed in the don julio reposado bottle any tequila drinker knows that this specific kind does not have a smokey lingering spice burn. Lasting for some time. Do not book here. Not to be trusted. And they over charged my account. Emailed customer why charges are over nobody replied! read more

If you value your safety and money, don't stay here. My wife and I were walking towards the lobby of this hotel to see about restaurants, shops and room options on the property. Walking at a normal pace on a sunny, dry day, she hit her toe full stride on the sidewalk that is uneven by 3-4 inches on BOTH sides of the path, due to a ramp. This was not even 150 ft from the entrance. She was in immediate sharp pain but chose to keep walking, visiting the gift shop at the hotel. Within 2 minutes of visiting the shop and ready to buy items, we were told to leave ("shop is for guests only"), and the security guard awkwardly stalked/followed us as we left the property via the public beach. I wrapped my wife's toe over the next few days, with concerns it may be broken as it got increasingly purple/swollen. We still are not sure if it is broken or not but are concerned about seeking medical attention here in Cancun, so will be determining for sure back in the US. Just 3 days after this incident, we decided to visit the property to inform them of what happened and to encourage them to remedy the sidewalk, literally with the only hope of preventing guests or potential guests from injury. We entered the lobby, asked to speak to the manager, and were told the manager was "in a meeting" and couldn't see us. We tried to explain to the 3 staff members of what happened, imploring them to at least let us show where it happened so they could put up signs, ANYTHING, to alert people of the hazard, and they were vehemently uninterested, because we were not hotel guests. 2 minutes after trying to explain this the "head of security" comes by and says we have 5 minutes to get off the property or they will call the police. Keep in mind this whole time we are not belligerent or yelling, just trying to get the hotel staff to understand. The security guard pushes on both of us towards the door, and I have to do everything in my power not to come unglued and end up in a physical altercation/going to a Mexican jail over some stupid sidewalk. We walked off the property being followed by 3 guys, not before snapping a photo, which I've attached. Tell me how easy it would be for someone to hit on one side or the other of this sidewalk given the variation in angle, unless looking straight down at the sidewalk at all times. Even worse if you were walking towards it at night or in the rain! We returned to the Westin Resort & Spa that we are staying at, where a concierge explained to us what should have been done for an injury on a hotel property (provide first aid care, seek to understand customer's feedback/concerns, explain liability of the hotel, etc), all which was helpful. AND THEN the concierge examined my wife's toe to see if she needed further care. This is just a night and day difference in customer service compared to the Óleo staff physically removing us from the property in which she was injured. I will NEVER stay at this resort or anything remotely related to this resort and I strongly encourage you to avoid as well. Fingers crossed for you if you choose to stay here; imagine something much worse than a broken toe happening to you our your loved ones, or even something innocuous is like a charge dispute. You could be treated with hostile disdain by the company you paid to accommodate you. There are so many more SUPERIOR brands available in Cancun for your accommodations. I recommend Marriott properties as they have GLOBAL brand standards, unlike the fake upscale hotel ÓLEO. read more

We loved this place, because the staff was incredible! Reyes at the lobby bar was so friendly, helpful and entertaining. He was a genuine guy who wanted to know about you, and remembered your drinks and name! Yolanda (Jo Jo), was so sweet and funny, and kept us wanting to go back to the bar to interact with her! The food wasn't bad, could have been more variety. If you can make it to Hakka, do it! Beach service was awesome (at times slow), but you have to get there at an earlish hour to get a tent- and trust me, at this time of year, you need the shade! Room service was slow. Also seemed as if whomever was working/answering the phone had different rules for what you could and couldn't order. One day they'd bring us drinks, another day they wouldn't. One day they'd bring coffee, then they wouldn't. These are minor issues! More entertainment would have been nice- there didn't seem to be much going on, and little to no advertisement for what was happening. Overall everything was great! Don't forget to tip the housekeepers! read more

Initially we stayed in an Air Bnb Penthouse on this property which was nice, we extended our vacation and stayed in one of the hotel suites. The suite was beautiful and clean with amazing views and amenities!! Checking in the bellhop showed us how to use all the modern amenities like the room service menu on the TV, they provide you with everything at your fingertips. The bath products are top notch and one of our favorite brands. The rooms are very spacious and cozy. The bathroom with the rain shower faucet was a plus. This was the best hotel because it has a boutique feel and the staff are wonderful people!! The renovations made to this hotel are fantastic. Suite 1906 has great views of the ocean and the bay side. You won't regret staying here. read more

Five stars all around! From the beautiful ocean view from our balcony and spacious, comfy room, to the lovely dinners at Almar and the most welcoming service. They are taking Covid precautions very seriously and getting tested at the hotel is such a breeze. I traveled with my cousin and we had the most fabulous time! I don't think we ever had to wait for someone to come check on us. Mimosas and coffee were always full at breakfast! Alfredo at the check-in area always made sure we were happy. We stayed for 5 nights and 3 of those nights we ended up at Almar because everyone there was so amazing. Abigail, Carlos, Issac, and the chef Angel made our evenings that much more special. Raul took care of us anytime we were at the pool/beach area. He really made us feel at home. Our last morning before checkout it was super windy, so he suggested that we sit up stairs instead and he would bring us food and drinks. It really was the cherry on top of a great week. read more

We love this place, from the food, the drinks, the rooms and definitely the people who were so humble and welcoming from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. I would highly recommend! The only thing we did not like and it ruined a day of our vacation (which we were there for 3 days), was that the staff at the lobby when we checked in tried to offer us "a day at their new hotel Atelier". They made it seem as if we were going to spend the whole day at their new hotel with the same benefits as we would at Oleo. The reason they said they were offering this was because they wanted their guests to refer this new hotel and promote it with reviews after we spent the day there. We advised them "we would go but would like to make sure this was not anything else", they insisted we go that we would enjoy their amenities and to please "do not make them look bad by not going and backing out". We decided to go over to the new hotel, it took 50 minutes to arrive there, once we arrived they insisted to sign us up, create a profile and begin asking us questions about how we spend our vacations and how much we spend on them etc. They insisted to give us a "tour" of the whole hotel, almost 4 rooms and all their amenities. We began to notice this was some type of vacation package they were offering, we told the lady we were on vacation and did not want to waste our first day like this but she kept on going. The tour took about 2 hours!! She then took us back to the office sat us down and sure enough began to offer us a vacation package, we stopped her and told her we were not interested, once we did that she called her General Manager. He came over and asked why we were not interested, we explained again that we were on vacation and thought it was disrespectful how they had no consideration for our time and vacation. But he didn't seem to care, he kept insisting . We stated again we were not interested and he finally left and said a gentleman from quality control would come over to sign us off and let us leave. Quality control guys comes over and sure enough he also tries to sell us the package!!!! This is ridiculous. We left immediately and once we had left it was already 3 pm and the van taking us back to our hotel was picking us up at 4pm. We wasted the whole day!! Very inconsiderate especially being lied to saying we were just going to enjoy a day at their new hotel. This was the unpleasant part of the trip, everything else was great. Just keep a heads up if they offer this to you. We were not the first ones, and their reviews for their new hotel state the same thing. read more

I am going to try my best to be a visual storyteller, as I give in detail the experience I had at Óleo Cancún Playa All Inclusive Boutique Resort, this place is a gem. I elected to have private transportion from the airport (Best Day Travel - I will review them separately), upon arrival I was greeted with a welcome drink and greeting from the staff. I was given in detail what the resort would offer during my stay. I was given directions to places on a resort that I would be able to venture to with the Inspira package (upgraded package). I was escorted to my room, which was a balcony view from the 6th floor of the third tower, took my breath away. The crash of the waves managed to produce a resounding peace. I shortly there after met Cynthia, who actively made herself available that I was having a good time & if there was anything she could do. Ruben, was the entertainment director, he provided us with a great time with several different activities to keep us occupied & active during the day. He is excellent with keeping the guest engaged bilingually. This location is on the clean side of the beach, the seaweed was minimal and the waters were clear. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst 10 being the greatest, I would rate the food rates at 5 (I have a diverse palate). I was here for the beach the scenery and the cater that the staff gives, not for the food. The spa, was EXCEPTIONAL!!!! I am going on record to say this was the BEST facial & full body massage I've ever received (I'm a facial & massage connoisseur). The extremely clean beach and the cater that the staff gives outweighs everything else. Would I come back again? That's not the question!!! The question is when will I be back!!! read more

The hotel had beautiful views, but honestly I have stayed at better places in Mexico. This hotel has beautiful rooms with great views, but a lot of the property needs an update. The staff is super friendly, but the food is average and the amenities are average at best. My stay at the Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta was the same price, but MUCH better read more
