What an amazing vacation we had at the Caribe. The staff were very attentive to us. The grounds were very well maintained and there was always beautification going on. There was a large variety of food at the buffet and it was well presented. The snack bar was yummy too. The food at the restaurants-Veneto, Bogavante, Marco Polo was amazing! Lots to chose from and delicious. Franco was the first to great us. He made sure that we were well taken care of by reaching out to us daily and making a point to see us. We spent most of the time at the pool where we were served by Isias our bartender and Antonia. Antonia was a so pleasant and such a hard worker. They were both busy from the time they got there until they left, always meeting the needs of vacationers. I can't say enough about them. We were pleased that there was a sunshade over the pool and lots of umbrellas for chairs. If u wanted sun, there was plenty. Blanca was the entertainment staff. She was so sweet and tried to get ppl engaged in activities-we did them all! lol she has an Amazing personality. The premier bar staff-Cecelio, Isaac and Kalimba were great. They were always making up new drinks for ppl to try and boy did they put on a show. We were there every night. The nightly entertainment was amazing. So much talent. Very enjoyable. Our room was beautiful. It overlooked the blue water and sunrise.

I would definitely return without hesitation; I had a fantastic time! However, there are caveats. My review is based on being a parent on vacation with kids, looking for value, convenience, and relaxation. If I were younger, single, or without a kid, I might have a different opinion. If I were bringing my aging parents or had someone disabled in my party, I would be less kind. Your experience will vary depending on what you are looking for. I will list the cons first: **Cons:** - Many of the elevators don't work. Super irritating, especially when you are on the higher floors. The one at the lobby stopped working, so we had to walk to a different area of the hotel to go up, and even then, only 50% of the elevators were working. - Paper-thin walls. You will hear everything, especially annoying late-night doucebags deciding to party. - Horrible dining reservation system (see dining portion below). - Need more Jacuzzis! - Drinks are atrociously watered down. I don't normally drink or care for it, so it didn't matter, but it would be a con if I was. For us non-drinkers, you can order the following; all can be made virgin: Cancun Special, Mango Tango, Pina Colada, Mangonada. - Beach, pool, snackbar, & minibars close pretty early in my opinion. Did not matter to us but may be important to others. **Pros:** - Room layout is really nice. - Amazing balcony with an ocean view. - Excellent service all around, attentive and top-rate service, friendly and welcoming. - Mostly quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for. For lively and party environment, there's access to Royal Solaris next door, which has the "active" bigger pool and kids Miniclub and a small water park (4 years and above to leave; otherwise, need to be there with them). Both have access to each other's dining options. - The beach is gorgeous and not crowded. Walking 1/2 mile either way from the hotel, this beach is the absolute best and most peaceful and serene. White sand and clear blue waters. **Others:** - Mexican-Moroccan architecture - the most charming exterior than all the nearby hotels. Felt like we were in a villa instead of a hotel, which is what we wanted. Lovely decor and charm. But it is an older hotel - I loved it but not for everyone. Definitely needs some TLC. If you are looking for fancy and modern, look elsewhere. - Lots of kids - your opinion may vary depending on whether you want to vacation with mostly parents or a more adult-only environment. - Ocean rocky and not swimmable - waters not able to swim in. Apparently, there's calmer waters 15 mins away. This didn't matter to us but would be a con if wanting to go into the ocean. - Royal Solaris was the active party hotel with lots of kids, GR Caribe was the quiet peaceful one. - The internet worked mostly - my T-Mobile has free limited international data so various times it shows connected to WiFi and other times to 5G. - Did not get stopped for a timeshare anywhere. I guess it helps to be brown, with a kid, and not look put-together :D **Dining options:** **Breakfast:** Café Solaris - dingy Holiday Inn-style breakfast. Go to Las Fuentes instead; it is far superior. **Lunch:** Pizza bar unreasonably slow. Waste your time waiting in line. Did not try sushi. Sit-down service and food at Bogavante was excellent. Shoutout to Carlos for being so great. Can also do the buffet at Rosmarinus. **Dinner:** Las Fuentes (buffet), Marco Polo (reservation only), Bogavante (reservation only), Veneto (reservation only). Now, this was the really frustrating part. The nice restaurants are all reservation only. It's near impossible to make a reservation due to the terrible system. If you have an active reservation (let's say 2 days from now at one of the restaurants) and you are looking for something earlier, you are not able to see what's available at any restaurants until you cancel the reservation at the later date. If you do cancel and find there is no reservation available, you would most likely lose the original reservation time at whatever restaurant you previously had! Unreal. With that said, we were able to eat at Marco Polo, and it was a good experience. Other than that one night, we had to do the buffet for dinner all the other nights. The buffet changes daily based on themes. You can check the Royal Solaris lobby to see the weekly menu. They ranged from good (Spanish), decent (Asian), and atrocious (Parisian). Desserts, I'm sure they make in one go, so you can tell as the days go on, it starts getting staler and staler; the same thing with the breads. By Saturday, most of the desserts and breads were inedible. The fresh orange juice earlier in the week starts tasting like tang by the end of the week! Another issue is that a lot of things do not have labels or are labeled incorrectly, so it's really difficult if you have dietary restrictions. So yeah, that's the gist of it. I hope this review helps you on your search for the perfect Cancun getaway!

Pros: You will have access to the sister hotel that is right next door. Close to the airport Nightly entertainment Safe in room Cons: Room service options are limited and the food was cold AC didn't cool well Restaurants that need reservations book fast Arrived via private transport (Cancun airport transportation). Since we arrived, we had to check in at the sister hotel and then were driven to our hotel. The check in took a while and we weren't given any instructions. We got the room thinking we would find a book of instructions like most resorts have, but nothing to be found. We had requested a double bed room, but I guess they didn't have one, so we ended up with a roll away bed. The staff that delivered it was super nice and ended bribing us a card with a QR code for the room service. Room: Big. It had a separate seating area which was nice. I did use the sitting area pillows for extra cushion on the roll away bed. The room has a mini fridge with two beers, water and some soda. This is replenished daily. The room has a safe, iron and it one board. A coffee maker is available. The AC didn't cool well, but it was comfortable enough. The bathroom was big with plenty of vanity space. The shower pressure was excellent. They do provide bar soap, shampoo and lotion. Bring your conditioner. There's a hair dryer. The pools: This hotel has one pool and two hot tubs. It's smaller, but not as busy as the other hotels pool. They have a bar and a small food bar too. The lounge chairs go fast since they have less. The sister hotel also has a pool, but this one has a swim up bar. The restaurants: The all you can eat restaurants are definitely better at the sister hotel. They have more options. This hotel does have a restaurant, Bogavante, facing the ocean (reservations required). They have good seafood dishes. Be aware that the reservations for the restaurants go fast. We arrived Sunday night and Monday morning when we went to book, everything was already booked for the day and the next day only Bogavante had openings. The snack bar at the pool is pretty good. Overall, the food isn't the best, but good enough. The room service is very limited. The food was cold when it arrived. We only used it once. Bars: There's plenty of bars. Drinks are a hit or miss depending who makes them. Bring your cup from home and they will make your drink in it. Skip the wine. For people making their money from tips, we only had one good experience at the bar. We were usually ignored and we were tipping $5s and $10s in most places. Beach: Cancun has a great beach. The water is always nice. The hotel has lounge chairs under a pergola available for their patrons. They have waiter service at the beach. Entertainment: We went to one show and it was really good. It lasted about an hour. It started at 8pm. They did have a small show at the pool one day too. The pool has activities during the day.

We picked this hotel for our 24th Wedding Anniversary because of the reviews. Big Mistake! They took forever to check in about 3 hours and we did not even get the rooms we paid for because Members get first pick. Your stereo typed by the color of your wristbands, if your a Member or not. Not everything is all inclusive. On one of the evenings a guest was MUGGED & ROBBED by our rooms. Rooms and Hallways were loud. We could hear the guest in the other rooms above and next to us. Food was ok but had to go outside the hotel for what we wanted, lobster, crab, ceviche, aguachile, Mexican Food, etc.. they served cheap liquor unless your a Member. Wasn't told there's a Dress Code or told to bring pants and dress shoes for dinner in this humid heat, we could not have our 24th year Anniversary Dinner with our group of 20 and go to some of the restaurants. We had to go out of the hotel and celebrate. We were so embarrassed and apologized to our group for all the inconvenience. We Don't like wristbands or tickets for a Towel for the pool. No ticket, no Towel. Music by the pool was not good & made some request for Mexican Music but the DJ was told to play the scheduled music by Management. Bar is from 11am to 5:30pm ? Pool closes at 8pm You get for what you pay for. This hotel is not for us. Anniversary 10/25/2021

Honestly, read the reviews. I wish I read them before going to this all inclusive for a week. You definitely get what you pay for here and I would not come back. First thing - two of us spent around $1700 for this all inclusive for a week. I thought it was too good to be true... yes. The vacation we were looking for was a relaxing one - where we did nothing but enjoy each other, the pool, the beach, and the sun. Check in: We arrived at the resort around 2pm. We had to sit in the lobby with all the other people who arrived before the 3pm check in in the hot lobby. The ac was clearly not working. After waiting in line (after the hour wait for check in time), because I booked through RCI, I had to go to a different area, with no special signage, to then wait in another line, in order to check in. The couple immediately in front of me complained about the ac not working in their current room (I put that in the back of my head), finally we get our room and my keys don't work. Luckily, housekeeping let us in because they were watching us struggle. (Didn't even look to make sure it was our room). The entire week the ac never got below 75 degrees. It was horrible to sleep - for me at least. I don't like to sleep in the heat. The view was nice, however, so that helped offset my grouchy-ness. Food: No one (they called me about 5 days before my reservation date) told us that restaurants needed men only to wear formal wear (later explained as long pants, sleeved shirts, and closed shoes). Also, no one explained that you need to use a lousy website to book reservations to go to any of the restaurants. The reservations wouldn't be so bad BUT you can only have one active reservation at a time and you couldn't get a reservation the day you got there so you could only start booking for the next day. Well, the website continually broke down and ... never worked. Out of 7 days, we were lucky enough to go to 1 restaurant twice (because they accepted men in shorts). Unfortunately, we didn't pack pants because... well.. we wanted to have a destination vacation in the heat where we hung out at the pool and beach all day. The breakfast was the best meal of the day, again, buffet style. Slowly you started noticing leftover dinner buffet turned into the next day breakfast which turned into that same days lunch, then they rounded it back up for the dinner buffets. 7 days of the same, not good, food was frustrating. We were excited to get back to the airport and had a "real meal" at the airport Margaritaville. Oh - also, free room service. We ordered every meal (after our dinners) to see if there was any better food but the best offering was the fajita. Cocktails/alcohol: Booze only served 11am-11pm. You have to specify if you want booze - for instance, a margarita with a shot of tequila. Don't say vodka soda - be specific. Smirnoff (was the high end) and club soda is what you'd need to ask for otherwise you got this really low end vodka that had an after taste of cinnamon. I couldn't for the life of me find out the brand, blacksmith? Blacksmear? Something like that but it was horrible. Otherwise: Lots of families with kids. If I had kids, I think this resort would be good to being a decent sized family (if you're looking for a cheap vacay) with low expectations. While we had ample time to relax, don't go here expecting good food or cold a/c. The service was just alright. Two special shout outs - Nancy, bartender by the pool was phenomenal. And Alberto at Bogavante. Hats off to you two!

I really couldn't say enough positive things about this resort. We stayed at the resort for 4 nights. From the very beginning the resort staff were friendly and helpful. We took a hotel shuttle from the airport and were promptly checked into our room. The result is all inclusive so food, drinks (including alcohol), pools, and 24/7 room service were all free. I liked that you could utilize the facilities at both the GR Caribe and the Solaris (the sister resort located next door) at any time. Take advantage of the spa. We got a basic massage package ($50) which included a massage under a beach-side hut. It was phenomenal! There are many companies that will pick you up for excursions (not included in your resort price) as well. There are resort staff that can help you schedule those trips. There were several negative reviews regarding the food. This is what I'll say, do your research. Each of the restaurants offer different options. If you're picky about food, stick to what you know. If you're more of an adventurous eater, try your different options. We will definitely be back in the future!

I really enjoyed my stay here while in Cancun. The staff was friendly and attentive. Room service and the food were amazing! The view was beautiful! We had access to the sister hotel right next to it so it was nice to hop on over to the other side for their buffet and other restaurants. I do wish they had more activities to offer since it's all inclusive. And that the pool area and restaurants stayed opened for longer periods of time. I ended up sending my parents here for their anniversary a few months later!

This hotel was a pretty nice surprise for a few nights with my best friend. We actually booked the Royal Solaris, but we were upgraded at check-in, maybe a perk of traveling during the slow season in early December. After we walked next door, they did sit us down with the hostess/concierge/timeshare saleswoman, but once she determined that we were not a) a couple or b) people with disposable income, we weren't bothered again. The rooms were huge and very nice! No balcony, but the view from out the front door was wonderful. Unfortunately, our windows overlooked the tennis courts, which was a little strange. Really lovely decor in the rooms and bathroom. TV had a couple of English channels as well, if that's what you're into. The doors, while large and wooden, do not stifle the sounds of screaming kids running through the halls and courtyard in the middle of the night. The food...not great. My friend quite liked most of her food, but the vegetarian options were limited. I even confirmed with the hotel's website and via email that they would have many options. The dietary restriction menu was identical for all the restaurants everyday and lacking imagination. And one item was even prepared with chicken broth! I don't think they knew the definition of vegetarian. The guacamole at the beachside restaurant was our staple and we went to dinner back at Royal Solaris because the buffet at least had a few options. As for the bar, we were told that the lobby bar would stay open all the time, but it was shut down and empty by 10pm all but one night. The drinks were weak and tasted like bad mixes. The margaritas were made with or a orange juice! The mojitos were actually really good, but the bartenders acted so put out when we ordered them. Sorry the rest of your drinks were so horrible. The beach in front of the hotel was so clean with lots of chairs available. The water was a little cool, but we were able to get our feet in. We mainly hovered around the pool; it was pleasant, but the hot tubs were the real attraction. Warm and so comfortable! Entertainment was pretty much a non-event. We had to go back to the original hotel to watch the shows in uncomfortable chairs, like those from a cheap diner. The Latin American dancers were great, but all the singing was lip syncing, which was especially a travesty during Broadway night. Overall, our stay was okay. We were definitely grateful to be upgraded, because the pool and grounds at the other hotel were definitely of lesser quality, but the lack of quality food and drink and entertainment will have me seeking out alternate arrangements when I return to Cancun. I think it would actually fall as a 3.5*, but since I know I will look to stay elsewhere next time, I'm rounding down.

    Pool area

The cons: May have a adjoining room and shares all sounds and smells No balcony's , really Older resort and dated. Beach is smaller and rockier. Minor repair and maintenance being preformed The pros People people people and the people! They take precautions where needed. Their attentiveness/ customer service is the top notch if not the top we have ever experienced in the 8 years and over 10+ trips we have taken to Quintana Roo. We will come back because of : Miss Patty in Housekeeping Miss Rosalinda, Miss Diana and Mr Jeyven at the Pool Mr Edwardo at the GR Cafe Miss Nancy in the Lobby Miss Herlinda at the grill. I am sorry if I missed anyone.

A toast to start a wonderful evening ocean side.

We had a several amazing experiences at the Royal Solaris Can Cun and the food was excellent! We were so happy and satisfied but the wait staff, hostess and manager went above and beyond to make our meals memorable. Gracias Dider, Neftalí y Fabián! We didn't realize dinner was by reservation and not only were they able to accommodate us, they ensured we had a dining experience and memories we'll remember for years to come.

    Dinner with a view.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. Open air atmosphere right on the beach, overlooking the ocean. The menu is somewhat limited, but has a nice variety that will suit meat eaters and vegans alike. The mahi-mahi I ordered was very good. The fish was moist and the flavor was excellent. The servers are very attentive, and they are very well staffed. This is the perfect venue for a nice evening meal after a day on the beach.

Staff is wonderful. Couldn't be nicer or more attentive. Diana was wonderful with all her entertainment at the pool and awesome personality. Jeyson, Rosaria and the rest of the bar tending staff was great. Kept the drinks flowing. Only complaint I have is how hard the beds are. Other than that nearly perfect vacation. Hotel is super clean during covid. Again entire staff was awesome.

Cockroach in lobby. (There was way lire but this one seas dead and and stayed there for hours)

Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay fun, welcoming, and memorable. We participated in SO many activities during our stay. We rode the FlowRider several times, played water games, did pool workouts, made brackets, enjoyed the themed dinners, spent time at the sports bar, ate A LOT of food, had plenty of drinks, and basically said YES to everything fun happening around the resort. The Fun Team was absolutely AMAZING! Oscar was our FlowRider instructor and was fantastic! We had so much fun that we went back multiple times. He was encouraging, patient, and made the experience so much fun. Guillermo was awesome with the pool exercises and brought such great energy to the activities. Claudia and Anna Banana were also incredible and helped make the activities so much fun. They brought personality, energy, and so many laughs to our days. And then there were all of the people who took care of us throughout the resort: Fernando -- Bartender Manuel -- Bartender -- seriously, an AMAZING bartender! Fernando -- Bartender Vicente -- Bartender Louis -- Food Operations Raphael -- Front of House Staff Wilbert "Willy" -- Sports Bar Waiter Selso "Seltzer" -- Steak & Win Server Jesus -- Sports Bar Chef Felipe -- Sports Bar Manager Maria -- Massage Therapist & Spa Staff Every one of them deserves a shoutout because they each added something special to our vacation. And I have to mention housekeeping, because our room was absolutely spotless and clean! Anytime we needed our room cleaned, the staff was on it. We never had to worry about coming back to a messy room, and that made such a difference during our stay. It was clear that the entire resort takes cleanliness seriously. The themed dinners were one of our favorite things, and we loved having so many different activities available. We never felt bored because there was always something going on -- but if we wanted to just relax by the pool, we could do that too. The sports bar was another favorite, and Willy, Jesus, and Felipe made our time there even better. The food and drinks were great, and the service was wonderful. And the spa! Maria was amazing, and the entire spa staff made the experience relaxing and enjoyable. Honestly, what impressed us most was how many employees remembered us, interacted with us, and made us feel like more than just another guest. Those little interactions are what you remember when you get home. The Westin Cancún has an INCREDIBLE team. Please recognize these employees because they truly made our vacation what it was. We came to Cancún to relax, have fun, eat good food, drink good drinks, and make memories -- and we did ALL of that. Now we're already counting down to the end of September! Thank you, Westin Cancún, for such an amazing stay. We can't wait to come back and hopefully see all of these wonderful people again! 10/10 vacation. 10/10 staff. Spotless rooms. Amazing activities. Great food. And 100% coming back!

First time at this property and I enjoyed my stay, although a few things could have been better…read more The location is at the start of the hotel zone and always from the hussle and bustle of the main area. Pros and cons to this. Pros - not as busy, plenty of seating/beach chairs, quiet resort, easy access to airport and if going out of the hotel zone, large spacious rooms (I had two queens beds with ample space), in room fridge, friendly staff Cons - limited walkable activities (shopping, food, entertainment), older property, only 2 on property restaurants open in the evening limiting dimmed options, communication with guest services is via phone, had to checkout at the front desk no folio delivery to room or app checkout, more seaweed on beach than others (property didn't address until my departure date), pools were super warm like bath water so not refreshing, not enough toiletries in room Check-in process was quick as I arrived early around 11am and was shocked I got access to the room. This definitely was unexpected. Room was huge and had a beautiful ocean view. The window was a bit janky however I was able to get it opened to feel and smell the ocean air. You could tell the property was dated just in the finished and wear on the room. Lighting also was challenging due to the size at night. While on property felt safe and relaxing as there were other guests but no one was on top of one another. Got to try out breakfast (decent, the made to order omelette and eggs were great) there were some rotating items as well. Oatmeal was a different consistency each day soooo not sure whose doing that. Service was hit and miss. First day seat on own and took about 10 before someone asked about coffee. Second day got sat and service right away. Third day sat self and service right away. Their market -Palmer did not have sandwiches nor real food sooo that was a bit disappointing. Snacks, beverages and a few swim essentials were available. I did not have housekeeping service so I can't speak on that. The room was clean however and ample towels. The shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash were the big bottles and smells amazing. The shower was pretty small and turning around hitting the cold was would def wake you up. Shower pressure was amazing and controlling the temps tire once you got the mix right was good. The hot handle got super hot, had to use a wet washcloth to turn off. Not sure how that's not a safety hazard I really enjoyed the 'fake' sky lights in the bathroom gave a nice touch so it wasn't too dark. Property overall was in good condition and you could see the wear on the outside due to the climate. Overall nothing bad at the property but def needs some investment to improve the condition.

The facility definitely could use an upgrade. The ballroom sound system is not great. The rooms don't have a C port for charging devices. The entertainment could use an upgrade as well. Great performers but the ballroom where they perform should be decorated more. Especially the circus. At least some balloons or something! LOL I will warn you DO NOT do ANY presentations unless you're ready to sit through a timeshare presentation because that's exactly what it is. We were offered a buffet breakfast which ended up being lunch because the presentation took TWO HOURS!!! The food was just ok. We never saw one of the rooms or even a pool! They said it wouldn't be high pressure sales but FOUR PEOPLE tried to sell us!!!! The first guy even sat at our table (me and my Husband) and had lunch with us!!!! Go away!!!!! He called for back up during the presentation, then another guy and then another guy!!!!! Then when we were sitting in the lobby waiting for our ride back to our resort ANOTHER guy approached us trying one last time!!!!! I will say it was worth the Four Hands Massage we purchased with the Resort Credits they gave us for sitting through it but SHEESH!!!!! The whole experience put me in a bad mood for about an hour after. HIGHLIGHT of our time was our ALL TIME FAVORITE WAITER Juan at Aurora Restaurant!!!! He took good care of us when we first visited in 2023 and he remembered us and took even better care of us in 2026!!! We would go back just to see him!

First of all, the venue is absolutely gorgeous. The balcony view is honestly breathtaking and the infinity pool makes for great instagram photos. The back also has a restaurant and direct, private access to the beach with the rest of Zona Hotelera. I can not emphasize enough how pretty it is. The hotel itself, as all the other hotels on this strip, is hated with security personnel at the entrance. You can only get here by taxi, rental, or a personal vehicle. Ubers don't really work from the airport or most of Cancún. There's an Oxxo (think 7/11) nearby that you can buy water, snacks, and alcohol which stops being sold late afternoon on Sunday's! We had a blast. Drinks where good for us but not a giant variety as others might expect. Food was also good but nothing spectacular. My main complaint was the room itself. The beds were not very comfy and the hot water wasn't the best, but that's also an issue in most of Mexico. Again, you get what you pay for and based off the views alone I feel like it was a steal. If I wasn't a broke medical student I surely would have picked a fancier hotel.

However, what truly struck us both this time was the incredibly warm treatment we received. A hotel is only as great as its staff, and the team here is what makes it special. We booked a club-level oceanfront room, which included butler service. Our butler, Arturo, absolutely came through for us. He handled our restaurant and cabana reservations ahead of time and was instrumental in securing a late check-out on our final day. The dining at this all-inclusive is superb. For breakfast, Siete offers a decent buffet, and our waiter, Helvert, was incredibly kind and always took the time to chat with us. For dinner, DB was our top choice for elegant continental dining, complete with a live pianist. The manager, Susana, provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and the chef even came out to greet us. We also loved Hidden Gardens, a relaxed Asian-fusion spot with tasty food, impeccable service, and another welcome visit from the chef. During the sweltering day, the pool is the main draw. Lalo was always helpful in securing our requested cabana. They cost an extra $115 each time, but they are completely worth it to escape the intense sun. Our pool waitress, Marysol, befriended us and knew exactly what non-alcoholic drinks to bring us. My wife is a big coffee drinker, so we frequently stopped by the included Starbucks, where David the barista gave excellent service and loved chatting with me about World Cup soccer. Also, a big shoutout goes out to Lady and Daisy at the spa. They gave my wife and I heavenly massages. However, the absolute heart of the entire hotel is Marco, the extraordinary juicer at Siete! His positivity, jokes, and contagious smile drew a long line of people waiting for his blended drinks every morning. Thank you to everyone for making our trip so memorable!

3 stars for overall experience. 5 stars for the staff. 1 star for the spa…read moreThis is a small, all inclusive resort in the hotel zone. It's across the street from a shopping mall. This is not a party resort. When we were there, there was a karaoke night and a DJ in one of their lounges, but it was never crowded and the events ended early or people just left early. The 1st room we stayed in was HORRIBLE! We couldn't sleep. There was a loud rumbling sound coming from the huge air conditioning units right outside balcony. Ear plugs did not help. We talked to 3 other people also complaining about the noise from their rooms also. We were so thankful to Eileen/Aileen at the front desk for moving us. She let us view 3 rooms that were available. We went from a partial ocean view room with a king bed on the 2nd floor to a garden view (actually just the alley with trees) with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor. There was no noise whatsoever! Yaaaay! The person booking excursions could be more friendly. He seemed uninterested and looked bored. Whenever we saw him speaking to other guests, he really looked bored or tired. ONE STAR for the spa. We arrived 15 minutes early for a couples massage. My husband was led to the men's side and I was taken to the women's side. The young lady leading the way, paused at the locker room but led me directly to the quiet room. I was fully dressed and had all my belongings with me. Everyone else was in robes. Why wasn't I given a locker to store my things and a robe to change into??? I was so upset and felt so out of place. When my husband met me in the quiet room he was as confused as I was as to why I was still fully dressed. We were led to the massage room and I asked AGAIN about changing into a robe and storing my things. One of the masseuses said I didn't need to. WTF? So I undressed and piled my clothes onto an ottoman. I could not relax. The music was too loud and inappropriate. Why are you playing music with someone singing loudly? When it was over, it took me a while to calm down. We paid for shit service?! We came back and spoke to Jessica at the desk. She was also confused and concerned about the whole lock and robe ordeal. She offered a discounted spa treatment the next day but we were leaving. I wouldn't have taken it anyway. Overall, the staff was AMAZING! Please recognize them! They worked really hard to make our stay enjoyable. Get to know the staff and tip them well. Thank you to Jose at Egos who made sure our hands always had a drink in them; Carlos at Varenna for the house special cocktails; Miguel who took care of us while we relaxed on the beachside cabana. He was so attentive, personable and funny. Alejandro at the poolside bar made us laugh, Israel at Azur for the honest feedback when we had questions about the dinner menu, and Cesar at Hidden Garden who helped us figure out what was what in the darkness of the dining area. One that note, why is it so dark at Hidden Garden during the dinner service? We had to use the flashlights on our phones to read the menu and see our food. Fernando at the Siete breakfast buffet was awesome! We watched him smoothly take care of so many tables. We never felt neglected despite all the tables and people he was tending to. Lulu (Lou Lou?) is AMAZING, FUNNY and ENTERTAINING! We were lost the 1st night we arrived. He stopped what he was doing to personally escorted us to Azur in the darkness, around all the pools. We ran into him several times during our stay. He always made sure we were ok and having a good time. His energy is unmatched! Thank you to Omar, from the Concierge desk. He welcomed us when we arrived and gave us so much information about the resort. It seemed like he works everywhere. We saw him at different places in the resort. Maryam from the Concierge Desk! She was an angel. She really listened to all of our concerns. She was so friendly and funny. Even when our stay was over and we were waiting for our ride, she offered drinks and food to take with us to the airport. She definitely put a smile back on my face.

Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in retraining staff to restore the level of service this property was once known for.
