What a great experience - the guy who cut my hair would not finish until I was happy - and I have a unique fade for sure. I appreciate his diligence, skill, and the cost was so reasonable instead of these inflated $80-$90 for a fade down the street. I understand people need to make a living but geeze - I'm a fan of this place for value and vibe. Get a free bubbly pop drink after your cut too. Nice touch. Been coming here for a few years and it's a great spot for a fresh cut. I originally found out about this barbershop at one of their old locations in Lynnwood but since I moved down to Bellevue I was super excited that there was another 028 nearby. The manager Jay is great with his attention to detail. There are some days when I don't catch him working so Francisco & Jose are equally great with their skills and passion you can see with their craft after it's all said and done. I've seen this place start with only 2-3 barbers and now they have pretty much a full shop so wait times are way better. Another perk is you get a free beverage to quench that thirst after your fresh and clean which is different then most places. You can even play some Skee-Ball while waiting! read more

Go here if you want a haircut from barbers in training or new to the trade. Cool industrial chic interior design vibe with games like shuffle board and a recording of a dj spinning and a free drink with haircut . . . but the haircut experience itself is a 1 out of 10 poor rating. Barber didn't understand what a natural neck line meant, it took 44 minutes to get a $32 haircut. Half that time spent on the neck line (skin is raw now). My fiancé has been extremely hesitant on getting his beard touched by anybody but the second he saw Roger's attention to detail on another client he decided to give it a shot - and the results were amazing. READ: they have a sign right at the front saying they will give $5 off your haircut it you leave a 5 star review and show it to them. Got a haircut here that lasted 10 minutes. The sides were uneven. When I brought it up, my barber tried to fix it and made it worse. Had to go down a size because my head's bone structure apparently makes my sides uneven. I have never had this issue when getting a haircut. Even after this, my hair was still uneven but I didn't want to make it worse. Will not be returning. read more

After over an hour in the chair the manager had to walk over and tell me the guy cutting my hair had only been doing it for a week, not even sure if he had a license. Lowering to 1 star, Response to the business: Its always interesting to see how businesses respond to critical reviews. This shows whether they really value their customers or treat them like disposable assets. Personally attacking a customer who points out issues in your business may not be a winning strategy. Trying to demean them with phrases like "Keep the change" show your attitude. As a business if you have to cheat customers out of $2 every time they come in, you should be the one looking at how important that revenue is to you rather than attacking a customer for pointing out lack of transparency. I cannot stoop to the level of response of this business, i also saw them attack some previous reviewers. So as long as you are happy thats good. If you point out a bad experience to the business, prepare to be personally attacked. === I usually goto Weldon's but since my stylist was out of town decided to give 028 barbers a shot. Its definitely cheaper at $29 for a fade so i wanted to see if i could make this my regular. The barber shop is new and snazzy with halo lights everywhere. the floor is concrete. I did notice that barbers were not cleaning hair for multiple appointments which is always a bad thing. With respect to check-in process, there is a tablet wherein you enter your name and phone number. When its your turn, they will text you. I decided to try a barber that others had mentioned in the reviews but even though i selected him, after 30 minutes i was told he is not in today so i got assigned someone randomly. Total wait was around the same time. I did see the barbers selecting people from the crowd which may have been their regulars but it does seem wrong and another reviewer also mentioned this. Check-in experience was 4/5 mainly as its so automated. You can run errands while you wait for your turn. I shopped a bit at QFC while waiting so it worked perfectly. The person I got assigned to did a reasonable job with the fade but left my hair unstyled which was a first. I looked horrible as they showed me the mirror but could style using my fingers and fix it. I dont know if they were in a hurry or they dont style post cuts. After coming home and styling my hair, the fade looked ok. If they had styled it, i could have asked for some adjustments off the front. So the haircut was 3/5. For payments, the tablets here are configured for minimum 25% tip which is pretty high in my opinion, IIRC they went upto 100% tip which is ludicrous. 20% for good service is usually what i pay. I paid $6 on a $29 haircut but had to do the custom tip shame cycle. The final charge on my card was 36.23 which meant that they put in a 3.5% upcharge which i had no clue about. On emailing them since i thought tip was modified i was told its a CC fee, which is funny since they don't accept cash anymore. This fee was not on the tablet when they gave it to me to select tip and did not seem mentioned on the board, when you select tip they take the tablet back and there is no way to know if a CC fee is there (atleast i didnt see it). Again I am all for naming your price but you cant just randomly tack on a charge without disclosure. I have asked for it to be returned since its not disclosed before service. They claimed if i use a debit card it wont be charged. Billing experience was 1/5 Overall an average experience made worse by the billing shenanigans. A hyped place with average cuts and sneaky charges. They also advertise a free drink which i could care less about getting a soda in me but i can see why people come in due to the lure of free drinks. For what its worth, i was not offered the drink. Would i go back, probably not. read more
