I go over my 4 steps to how I like my hair cut and they seem to always miss the last step. I requested them to leave my hair longer in the back due to thinning and she cut it down short yet again and shaved the back of my head way to high up. I'm now left with a bald spot when normally I don't have that. I also purposely grow my hair out longer so they have room to work with and style but that still does not help them. I unfortunately will be looking for a new place and it's sad because my apartment sits right above them. I will miss the kindness and good atmosphere but I need to find a barber that can style my hair correctly with what I have.

Eventually, I came across TOC via Google Maps and scheduled the "first available" barber at my convenience. I got to the shop and Jeff was my barber. It's been about 4 years since then and I could not be happier. Jeff is an excellent barber, reliable, reasonable, and is easy to communicate with. If I don't like any part of a cut, I say something and it gets fixed. No sweat from Jeff and no sweat from me. It is our responsibility as the customer to get the product we want. TOC is a great barbershop and an important part of our marina community. Do yourself a favor and schedule a cut at TOC. You won't regret it. P.S. Ignore the hateful people who give 1 star reviews because they are petty individuals. Anytime you see a 1 star review longer than a few sentences, check that person's review history. I'm a Seattle native and struggle with finding a good barber. I have Asian hair which has a tendency to stick out straight when it's shorter. I've gone to cheap barbershops for $20/haircut to expensive salons for $95/haircut all just in search of a great barber who can cut my hair well. Most of the time when I leave the barber shops, I'm not usually 100% satisfied with my haircut. Jack is the first barber I've found that I actually leave without any complaints about my hair. My hair comes out great that day. There's no waiting period for it to grow into a good shape, there are no awkward side lengths that are angled awkwardly, it just looks amazing until I need another haircut (I get a cut every 4 weeks). Every once and a while, when Jack's booked and I urgently need a cut, I'll see another barber somewhere. They do a pretty good job and I'm usually satisfied, but then I'll return to Jack and remind myself why I drive all the way from Seattle to Bellevue just to see him! Jack is also a really nice guy, super easy to talk to. I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community and I never feel any judgement from him. He is always polite and respectful.
