Our repairman Stephan #88 arrived right on time. We didn't have to wait all morning. I appreciate that. He was very polite and very neat and clean looking. Stephan knew just what he needed to do to fix our problem, ice maker. When he took out the baskets in our freezer I asked him if I could clean it out and he gave me the time. He gave me tips on how to access the coils below the refrig and how to clean them. After he repaired our problem he looked around the kitchen asked a couple of questions about our dishwasher and oven and gave me tips on cleaning and using them. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. I would gladly have him back if the occasion arises. Thanks Stephan, you rock! read more

Our washer started leaking. We called and they sent Pat (Tech#98) who examined the machine, thoroughtly explaining everything he was doing. He diagnosed the problem as a couple of defective parts. He had to get the replacement parts for this very old Maytag model. He returned in two days and installed the new parts. The machine was up and running again and we got a good analysis of this washer brand and model. He was courteous and professional, as have been all the techs sent out by 1-800. read more

Three attempts to fix the oven in our range failed. Fourth attempt was cancelled by their office with no foreseeable reschedule. No oven for a solid month. The tech is apparently out and nobody knows when he will return. The part required is locked on his truck and nobody has the key. A trail of ruined dishes throughout the ordeal as we prepared food in reliance on their assurance the unit was fixed only to throw the gooey biohazard food away as the oven temperature crashed over and over again. read more

It took 3 visits and $2600 to fix my subzero refrigerator and freezer. The good news is that they were quick to respond including a Saturday night and ultimately fixed both appliances. The bad news is that it took them 3 trips and first I lost food because the refrigerator became room temperature. Then I lost food because they set the refrigerator to 25 degrees and it froze everything that was left. Additionally, it took 3 additional calls to get the final receipt. read more

800appliance .com and Appliance Rescue both have the same phone numbers. We were directed to Appliance Rescue by Whirlpool for our washer. They gave us a quote of $1076 for the repair, $250 was for labor the balance for 4 required parts. We procured the 4 parts that were required for the repair and scheduled the same technician back to install the parts. The technician installed 2 of our new parts, threw one in the garbage and took the other new part with him when he left (approx. $100 part), one might say he stole the part. I was told by the office manager Anthony that part was not required for the repair and the technician reported that it was damaged. I had examined the parts upon receipt and did not find any damage. Why would the technician have started the job if the part was damaged? He went on to let us know the technician took the part so we would not be burdened with having to dispose of the part. The is not credible, since the tech had left the two large heavy parts that were replaced in the middle of our garage. Since then, the technician has returned the stolen part and it is now damaged. They tried to charge us $350 for the labor, we refused and only paid $250 per the original estimate. read more

Our LG gas dryer (model DLG2012W) had been running loud for about 2 months. We do at least 2 loads of wash per day on average and other than running loud it was functioning fine (still putting out heat and drying clothing). I was concerned that if I kept running it that a potentially small issue could turn into something bigger. I normally call Yingst in Vista, CA when we have issues with appliances, so that was my first call. Unfortunately they do not service LG appliances. When I had pulled up their phone number on the internet I happened to see Appliance Rescue come up as a recommendation. I checked out their web site and was happy to see that they do service LG appliances. Their service fee for coming out is $69.95 (as opposed to LG's service fee of $89.95 per their web site) and the fee is waived if you opt for the recommended services. I was able to get a next day appointment very easily when I called. I also received an email confirmation for the appointment. Eric W. Tech #45 arrived with a nice young man (I believe he was training him) at the beginning of our appointment window (between 1-3, he arrived promptly at 1). Both men were friendly and professional. I explained to them what the problem was and left them to work. About 15 minutes later Eric showed me what the problem was. A belt on the drum of the dryer was worn and would need to be replaced. After a few minutes of measuring and verifying that they had the correct part on their truck they gave me a service and labor cost of $160.00 total (service fee was waived). After I approved the cost they got to work replacing the belt. They also were kind enough to clean all of the lint out of the inside of the dryer as well as the intake and lint screen area. To my surprise they pulled out 2 dryer sheets that somehow got past the lint screen. They also showed me how to clean excess wax and buildup off of the lint screen. Everything was complete in about an hour. The invoice as well as Eric's card say 1-800-Appliance on them, which is why I put the review here instead of under Appliance Rescue. I believe that Appliance Rescue works with multiple companies in the county and refers people based on their location. I plan on calling them next time I have an issue with an appliance. read more

Robbie Tech #95 did a great job, finished hard job on same day, cleaned up after himself. Could not get another 5 star company to return calls for broken Maytag gas drier. Still had magnet on fridge from refrigerator repair a few years ago, remembered they did a good job so called them. Came the next day, on time. Repair was more complicated than anticipated, had to get more parts (burned out motor), came back and worked for 4 hours until dinner time. Got it done, charged me what was quoted at the start! Had my refrigerator's ice maker go down right before a trip. 1 800 Appliance was able to get me scheduled for a repair person right away. Stephan (#88) showed up right on time and was both professional and friendly. He was able to quickly confirm that the problem was the ice maker itself, give me a reasonable estimate and replace the ice maker. WORST COMPANY EVER- DO NOT HIRE!!!! Our oven broke down 3 months ago. 2 months and 400$ after that, they finally came back to replace the motherboard. We never received receipts after asking for them multiple times. The oven is still not working, (it was never the motherboard) and now they are trying to charge us more money for an oven they never fixed. Just do not call them. They are the most unprofessional company that takes advantage of you and doesn't repair either your appliance or the mistakes they make professionally. read more

I had a problem with significant condensation pooling in the bottom of my fridge and the first repair technician was not able to properly diagnose or fix it in two trips. When I called a third time to tell them the problem still continued, they sent out Damien who repaired the problem with a $16 part. I was charged a reasonable labor charge for the first trip, the second trip was free (the repair guy thought he had now fixed the issue). I was only charged $16 for the third trip and that was for the part. I couldn't be happier about the honest and fair service I received. They kept coming back until it was fixed and didn't charge me for the additional trips. That is how it should be BUT seldom is anymore. This review for Tim tech #50. We have an older Kitchen Aid 48 inch built in refrigerator that was cycling on /off abnormally. Tim arrived on time and diagnosed the control board was failing. At the time he said there was no replacement part available and we would have to ship the board to a remanufacturer in Illinois named Corecentric. About $1000 and 3 week process. While he was there he also replaced some vent control device that was a known problem with our model. We waited a few months until the fridge stopped working and called 1-800-Appliance. They sent another technician (refrigerator specialist) and his interpersonal skills were lacking. We called back and requested Tim. Tim was able to order a new or rebuilt board and it arrived in a week. This is different than the original Corecentric plan we expected. Tim again arrived on time, was courteous and efficient. The fridge is working and there are no signs of careless workmanship. Would have been 5 stars if not for the unprofessional conduct of the other technician. read more

Do not use this company. When you make the appointment, they do not tell you the full cost. Also, do not trust their one year warranty; they'll find all excuses to tell you that your problem is a new problem, different from the last repairment, so you have to pay a full service and repair fee. read more

This has a continuous loop that says 100% satifaction guarantee. What balony! We had technician come to our home. We paid the $69.95 service call. He diagnosed the problem on our dryer which took him about 1/2 hour. He was nice and helpful.He ordered the parts and said they would be here Tue. a.m. and he could put them in later that day.His office would call and schedule an appt. for us with him in the a.m..They never called.We called them. Some manager, whose name, I believe was Dave said that due to the holiday the parts were delayed by up to several days.My question, at this point to Dave was: Your tape says," that if I'm not 100% satisified I don't have to pay a cent".Do I get my money back or pay anymore ? He at first said "no" because they didn't control shipping.I then asked about the satifaction...blah, blah, blah they are returning my $69.95 they say.We'll see.They are a horrible company to deal with businesswise...btw, the estimate to fix the dryer was about $230 less the $70.So repair wasn't an issue as much as lying, excuses and rudeness from the manager Dave.. read more

I had a technician out to look at my refrigerator, he did a great job and saved all my food. We had a chance to talk while we were wating for refrigerator to begin cooling. He was telling me that the reason that they charge so much is because his company takes 55% of everything that he makes. It's no wonder that they charge some much!!!! read more

I am a DIY yourself kind of guy and dealt with my drain/ice issue for too long before researching and calling anyone. I prepared by cleaning out freezer side to make access as easy as possible without messing with diagnosis. Tim, (tech #50) was on time, pleasant with the dogs, efficient, informative, and tolerant. Please, please, please don't waste your time. Used this company for a second time only because we received the same error code as the repair received in June - our refrigerator and freezer were not holding temperature. After a Saturday call where we explained, in detail the problem and submitted the information online, we could not get an appointment until Wednesday (at which point, the food was all bad). Despite giving the error code, the repairman showed up without a clue (said he'd wished he'd known so he could order the parts). We were told the issue was the same as last time and would be covered by the warranty, but the parts had to be ordered. The parts supposed to show up on Friday, we didn't find out until Monday that they had not arrived (after I'd already stayed home from work). It takes until Tuesday to get the repair (from a different repairman) - we were given a 4-6 window and he didn't show up until 6:30pm, at which point he tells us that it is a different part and charges us $250 for the repair. AND!!! he broke the fan in the freezer while doing the repair (he broke it last time too). Ten days without a working refrigerator/ freezer despite a hold message about "fast service" and "100% satisfaction guarantee" I will never call this company again (apparently the warranty is no good either). Save yourself and call anyone else, because this company is a complete waste of your time and money. read more

Do not use 1-800-Appliance!!! Seriously the worst customer service, lack of communication, and "repair technicians" we have ever experienced. After 3 visits over 10 days, they still have not fixed a Frigidaire under warranty. To simplify - at every point where the situation could have been improved, the company wanted to shift the blame to Frigidaire. Meanwhile, after the 2nd repair attempt, our food was ruined in a now-warm refrigerator with no offer from them to reimburse us for their failed repair. We have had to throw everything out. The "dispatch center" people were rude and had no conception of how to handle an upset customer. There was no attempt to make things right. The "technician" left welding residue and noxious fumes on his third, and unsuccessful attempt. Welding??? I guess we don't know enough about refrigerator repair... They never called us to confirm today's appointment after Frigidaire left a detailed message on their vm at 6:30 a.m. Worst "no service" in the North County area, bar none. i would not use 1 800 appliance....the gentleman came put my washing machine on the rinse cycle...said you have a bad pump..it would cost $270 to fix, probably couldn't find a pump for this machine...charged me $69.95 for this advice..called another repairman who was highly recommended...took the back off the machine and found it was a twisted drain hose...it is working perfectly ..the second repair man said not to get rid of this machine as the new all are run by computer chips....throw away your magnet for 1-800 appliance...not a good company read more

We had a new GE frig installed in August and the alarm on the door wasn't working. The door would stay open for 3 mins and nothing would sound. The display said the alarm was sounding but there was no noise. We had one repair kid come out (TWICE) and couldn't fix it and never returned our call. My husband called GE and they sent us Tim , tech # 50 from 1-800 Appliance. He came out and took the computer board out and called the tech support for GE because he knew something wasn't right. They asked him to look at the speaker on the board and he told them there was no speaker box. He told me he needed to order it and he would order a new board just in case it was the board. He said he would contact me in a week. Sure enough about a week later he called to say the part was in and he would come to install it. We set up the appt and he was here in the given time frame . He installed it in 5 mins and had it working. (The speaker was never installed at the factory. ) He was very professional and knowledgeable and delivered great customer service.
