Yesterday our dryer quit working, and Jason basically on the phone walked me through the steps to figure out if it was repairable or not (it wasn't), and we knew it was time to buy a new one (after getting 15 years out of the one we had, and he kept going for us over the past few years). My old Kenmore washer needed service, and after calling several different repair outfits with no availability. I called Protech to come and service my washer. The person servicing the washer arrived on time and was able to fix the washer in about 15 minutes. I was hoping that he would check the other washer components in case there was some corrosion/wear since it had been a few years since it's last service call. However the person was not interested in talking to me further and seemed to be in a hurry to leave. The charge was a bit higher than I expected, but as mentioned before they were the only appliance service company currently available this week. There are not enough good things to say about my experience with this company. I rent a house and my landlord has always been difficult, so he finally got a management company that hired ProTech to come fix my Non Working Microwave. Xavier was amazing, first meet he explained everything that was going on and what needed to be done. His technician called me 20 minutes prior to his arrival and was on time. I live in a condominium with very little guest parking. Often service people block garage doors, not Protech. I want to say that initially my experience with their service technicians was friendly and prompt. August. My Bosch condenser dryer needed to have its drain hose reattached and I was not confident that I had done it right. I had prepared wet clothing so we could be sure it was draining. The tech did not wait long enough. Not draining. Next tech came out, said I needed a new drain pump. (machine is 3 years old). Next appt. they made with "wrong" tech so I had to wait another five days. I asked if I might get moved up, they said I would have to talk with a supervisor, who would call me. No call. Sump pump replaced, again I had prepped clothes for drying, he stuck his hand in and said: It is heating, and left. Machine was not draining. Another appointment another week later. I missed the call that he was on his way, so he didn't come, and admonished me that if I didn't answer next time he wouldn't come again. He returned, removed the sump pump, admitted he had installed it incorrectly, I asked him to wait to be sure it was draining, and as he waited, and it was indeed draining, the machine cut out. At the end of this saga, it turned out the moisture sensor was failing. He called and the company said it would be four weeks in the warehouse. He also suggested I call Bosch and tell them what is going on with the 3 year old machine. (I spent another fruitless morning trying to get through to them). Yesterday, I called to see the status, I was told it is still backordered (and these are indeed tough times to be looking for parts) I asked if I might know the part they are waiting for on the off chance I could find it somewhere else. I am probably more motivated than ProTech to find a part for my machine. After being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was sent to a voicemail. It has been 2 1/2 months. I have been charged for a first visit and a new sump pump and labor and do not have a working machine. Each visit I had to provide rags for the technicians to clean up and to remind them to replace parts they had removed from the machine back into the machine before closing it up. I only recommend that you stay with the technicians every step of the way. I will not use names, as the techs were both friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable with the help of their cell phone apps and calls to the office support team. read more

Having a technical background myself, I did most of my own troubleshooting and found what I believed to be the problem with my refrigerator. After calling 5 different places and getting a combination of "We don't service Samsung Refrigerators" to "We have no clue what parts our techs carry on their vehicles and can't give you a quote over the phone", I finally got ahold of Jason at ProTech. I explained the problem, what I had done to troubleshoot it, and what I believed the cause of the problem was. He verified a few things with me, and he agreed that it sounded likely to be this issue, but then had me pull up trouble codes on the refrigerator and looked them up for me. After reviewing what the error was, there were a few other possible causes to my problem, and I just happened to have one of the parts on hand from an order I had made previously when I had an issue years back and had suspected the part of going bad. I replaced the part, and now everything is working fine. The fact that Jason took the time out of his day to answer my questions, and was able to give me a price and availability quote on replacing the component I believed was bad, when nobody else would, made me willing to pay him to come out and fix my appliance, regardless of what his pricing may have been. Add to it, the fact that he was able to walk me through some troubleshooting procedures, and I was able to resolve the issue over the phone is even better! I'd highly recommend Jason to anyone for his great customer service skills alone. I'm sure to use him in the future, should I come across any issues with any of my appliances again! read more

We called Jason this morning to ask if he could install a front loader gasket or bellow that was leaking. This scared our regular appliance guy, but Jason came over te same afternoon and installed it in about 15 mins. Then just because he was here we thought we would ask him to take a look at our fridge that has been a little too warm inside even after cleaning coils etc Jason took a 5 minute look and showed us that the fan was no longer working. I went through Angies List to find Pro Tech Appliance. I called Jason and gave him a brief description of the problem concerning my stove. When you turned the stove to conventional bake it would not heat. Jason gave me a window of what time he could come by my house. He went straight to work and had a diagnosis within about 30 minutes. The igniter was bad. Jason had it replaced in about 20 minutes. The charge for diagnosis, parts and labor were very reasonable. He was very nice and professional. The bad part were my three dogs barking constantly. I would recommend him and will probably use him again in the future. I find Angies List better than Home Advisor. Jason called me around 12:00pm Wednesday and said I can have someone there within the hour. Xavier showed up and was nicely dressed, he was friendly and HONEST!! I had a company come out to fix my dishwasher and they played around with it and charged me $120 and when they left the dishwasher was still not working properly. Well, OK... So my front load washing machine broke down. Mid cycle no less. Great, just great. So now I have a washer on my hands, full of clothes, soap, and dirty water that is making a humming noise and... it's broke I actually called another company first. I know, dumb, right? After calling three times over two days with no return call, I thought... Don't lie, you know exactly what I thought. So, Based on the reviews that are here, I call Protech, The phone is answered on the second ring, and lo and behold, there it is! A real live human on the line! Jason. Jason is on the line! What? No machine/recording/voice mail? No call center in who-knows-where? No way. No. Freekin'. Way. So I say hi, how you doing, hope you're having a good day, my washer is broke. Jason listened to my issue attentively, knew exactly the model of washer I had without asking for the model number, he was a really nice guy, and a appointment was scheduled for the following day. The technician arrived at the agreed upon time, and after introductions and a handshake immediately set to work on the problem at hand, diagnosing it in a matter of minutes. I offered them a refreshment, lemonade, coffee, OJ, root beer? They politely declined, but really, I mean, who doesn't like root beer??? But I digress... The tech, Pedro, did not have the part available, but he ordered, received, and installed it the following business day, once again, in a very timely manner. So now I'm thinking, it's almost like these guys know what they are doing! I once again offered them a refreshment, lemonade, coffee, OJ, root beer, and again, they politely declined, but, I mean, really, who doesn't like root beer??? But I digress. Again... So, to make a long story longer, Protech is top notch in my book and I will keep their number in my Roll-O-Dex (oops, sorry, no one knows what a Roll-O-Dex is anymore), Uhhh... smart phone, so I can call again if I am ever in need of someone to repair any appliance I might have. I called pro tech back in July 2021. Their technician Alex came over to try and fix my refrigerator that kept freezing over. All he did was remove the ice and fill it with freon. I told him I don't think that's the issue, so over the next 3 months alex kept coming back to fix it because it did not fix it right the first time. And cost me several hundreds in food. I then got sick with Covid and was hospitalized, when I came home refrigerator was doing the same thing. I called them back and they did not want to fix it because they said I was out of warranty. I told them I have proof that I was in the hospital. I then told them I wanna speak with the main person and they said they will have him call me. But I've yet to receive a call. Bad experience they never fixed my refrigerator right and then they said I was out of warranty for the same issue on the refrigerator because time had let time pass. They came out a total of 3 times for the same issue. Then they want to screw me over with warranty when I have proof I was in the hospital. Many other companies have come in and given up or told me I needed to buy a whole new door (which would cost more than the fridge originally did). I called Pro-tech based on the great reviews on Yelp. Jason answered the phone right away, I did not have to talk to a voice mail and wait fora call back. He was very knowledgeable. Appointment was easy to schedule and the tech showed up on time. The Tech spent less than an hour to unclog a refrigerator drain. It was a flat fee of $120. Other appliance repairmen called me back after I had already scheduled with Pro-tech, and the fee they charge for a clogged drain is between $85 and $95. I did not mind paying extra for a prompt response but it bothered me a great deal that the tech left his fingerprints all over the frig and was ready to leave. I asked him if he were going to clean it up before leaving. He said NO. I asked again if he was kidding. He said that he did not have cleaning products. I took wet paper towels and cleaned it up myself. This was very unpleasant, unprofessional and unnecessary. I also wish that the tech would have explained the warranty to me. I should not have to ask as many don't think to ask. I hope the tech did a good job but after the awful parting impression he left, I am not very confident. read more
