The battery in my wife's Range Rover dies just before the major snow and ice storms here in DC area. I called 1-800-Battery and now my car starts, but I have concerns. I set my original appointment for Friday afternoon between noon and 2PM, but 1-800-Battery adsvised me that I ordered the wrong battery and that the instll would be delayed but would be done as soon as possible. I was surprised and apprecaited the dedication of the technician to arrive at my house after 11 PM on a Saturday night in 10 degree frigid weather. I was expecting a 1-800-Battery truck or van, but he showed up in a 2 door Honda Civic. The only flashlight he had was his iPhone and he did not have the correct wrench to remove the retainer bar, which is step 1 in every YouTube video on how to replace the battery in a Range Rover Evoque. He removed several parts of the engine to remove the battery from the front, rather than lifting it out from the top, which he couldn't do because of the retainer bar. This meant he had to remove and replace several plastic parts, in the dark 10 degree weather. I hope all those parts were all put back in correctly, or that plastic clips did not break during the process. It's been a week, so far so good. There is a small retaining bracket left over after the installation and he dropped a screwdriver in the engine bay, which he could not retrieve and I need to deal with now. If we had an emergency, then having the car back operational was important, but I could have waited until daylight for a fully equipped technician to do the work. The technician, was polite and friendly, ultimately got the job done (he finally finsihed at 3 AM, 4 hours total) and I tipped him for his efforts in the freezing weather, but I'm now concerned about the screw driver in my engine bay and the plastic parts replacement. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience. When purchasing the battery online, I specifically selected installation service. After noticing installation was not reflected on the receipt and receiving text messages that the "driver" was picking up my battery that day, I contacted customer support through the website chat that same evening to confirm the scheduled delivery and installation day/time. I have screenshots of that conversation confirming both services. The morning of the scheduled appointment, I contacted support again to confirm scheduled delivery time for the battery and installation and was then told that installation was never purchased and that I would need to pay approximately $215 more for installation. I also have screenshots of that conversation. What makes this more concerning is that this battery was replacing the previous battery this same company installed less than six months ago which was only $228 for battery and installation. I had been driving my 2020 Mustang (which is now totaled). In the meantime, I let the battery in my Ford Edge die. I tried jumping the battery, but it is dead-dead. I put in an order to 1800Batteries at 2p on Sunday knowing they wouldn't be able to process until first AM on Monday. I checked the status by 930 am and the status was the same as Sunday afternoon. I opened a chat and they called me. They told me they only had one technician for all the suburbs south of Atlanta. They were going to check to see if the technician could come between 2-5 which is what worked for me. I never heard back from them. After an hour I got onto the chat and cancelled the order. However, I was contacted first thing Monday morning, the tech was very efficient and thoughtful, and my communication with customer service was great.
