The Authorities hit me with a $650 ticket based on a camera taking a photo of me passing through an intersection when the light was yellow awhile back. They just want your money. The retention rate is so high here I went through about 6 different lawyers which ultimately ended with them not being as thorough as I PAYED them to be and I definitely ended up going to jail. I payed 5000 just to have a wimpy attorney file paperwork for me. I've had a public defender who was more assertive. Would not recommend. AT ALL. read more

Do not use this law firm for DUI defense. I got one almost two years ago in Ventura and neither Mr. Kavinoky nor their "attorney" assigned to my case didn't even explain to me what the possible outcomes could be prior to giving them my money. Needless to say they took me for $5k and did absolutely nothing more than I could've done myself. Even when we went to court for pre-trial, once Anthony Khoury (so-called attorney) started to argue our case I knew we would lose. They burned me, don't let it happen to you!!! This guy and his whole team are a joke. Please heed this warning and that of other unhappy people and NEVER, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, hire this firm. Sure, they put on a good show with their appearances on tabloid news shows, high prices suits and fancy offices but when it really comes down to it you will not get your money's worth. Darrin Kavinoky brought me in for a consultation telling me I have a very strong case to have my DUI thrown out only to pawn me off on not one but two of his junior counsel members who knew SQUAT about the laws in Ventura County. I basically paid them to do what I could've done myself. My representation was done by Athony Khoury who did nothing but string me along and drag out the court dates only to ask the most basic questions of witnesses and when it came to sentencing he did nothing to get it reduced for a first time offender with no priors only to tell me at decision time that my only options were a trial or 2 days in jail...standard for Ventura. There I was, driving home from an ALL day Rum infused Luau. Suddenly a Sheriff's SUV is right behind me with lights A BLAZIN...... "Pull over at the next driveway" came the loudspeaker's call. I immediately rolled down all my car's windows just like Mr. Kavinoky trained me and waited for the Officer to come to my door. The next 5 minutes was the usual Where have you been? What have you been drinking? Why were you speeding? and then came the MOMENT I was waiting for...."Sir Please step out of the car I need to see if you are intoxicated". Tara did a excellent job with handling my DUI she really kept me at ease and kept me informed on everything because to be honest I was nervous as hell. I was expecting the outcome to be bad but she did everything that she said she was going to do and I even didn't have to step in a court room. they took my many deposits , totaling a couple thousands of dollars and they ended up selling my case to a private attorney named craig gold. after he saw my b.a.c.(blood alcohol level) of .014 % he told me not to fight the case , that it wasn't worth it. , i would have to pay him more money to take it to trial and i was better off getting a public defender and walked away. .....he didn't care to hear me out, he showed up late to court, too!! i felt i had a good case, debbie at no cuffs confirmed it so, but it was all b.s. read more
