My initial reaction to the restaurant was as we were walking up to it. The front porch with the long row of rockers reminded me of a Cracker Barrel. It's not. Never has been. The wait staff was friendly, but at times they were somewhat preoccupied. There were times that we were left alone. As in nobody taking an order or delivering an order or letting us know what the status was of our order. That would be the reason for the four stars versus five. The salad bar was good, I thought the best thing on it surprisingly was the big bowl of pinto beans at the end. They were delicious. Otherwise, the salad bar was somewhat basic but good. The food was outstanding. The hush puppies were just right. The catfish was fried to perfection and there was plenty of it. Overall, it was a very good experience. One of the other drawbacks is the location it's out in the middle of nothing. But make a trip It's good food

Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 - well decorated for Christmas! Food: only thing that was lacking. We got the catfish/crab cake combo and the chicken fried steak. Catfish was pretty good! Crab cakes were decent, yummy but didn't compare to the east coast. Hush puppies were also decent. Chicken fried steak was a let down. Tiny piece of steak inside the breaded crust/had a huge air pocket. Meat was also tough to chew and lacking flavor. Salad bar was a nice addition! Had potato salad, pasta salad, and everything else. Also the warm peanuts were a nice touch.

The best place to stop on 287. Clean and efficient catfish restaurant with super nice staff and excellent food. The cheese curds are deliciously garlicky. I had the lunch special with three catfish filets, okra and the fresh salad bar there is also a chicken fried steak lunch special. The fish was excellent.

The service and atmosphere were top notch! Super clean restaurant and the young man that waited on us was just incredible. However besides the awesome, fresh, and clean salad bar everything else fell way short. The crabcakes were so dense and flavorless. The fish was less than impressive. I've had better fast food fish. The fried jalapeños were okay but kind of burned and raw at the same time. I wish the food would have been better because they have a cool, large restaurant and awesome servers.

First time here, the entrance is nice and has a water area and plants. Upon entry there was a pungent smell but once seated the smell dissipated. The feeling in the restaurant is a cross between Cracker Barrell and Texas Roadhouse with the Peanut bucket. The food was ok at best, the Catfish was lightly breaded, they have there own style of Hushpuppies that I thought were cheese sticks as that's what they looked like and the fries were good. The salad bar unfortunately is near the bathrooms that did not smell the best. Maybe moving the salad bar would be better but I am sure this has been the set up for awhile. It seems that this place has there set of regulars and are comfortable with the set up so being a one time could be the reason I am not comfortable with it.

The food was good. I would come back to eat here. The food prices are about 15-20$ a person so the 4 star is just because of the price to food ratio is a little out of wack. Old school, good fish stop but definitely has been affected by 2025 pricing. I think everything came with a salad bar. The sweet tea was off the chain and the service was good. 2 years in the area and this is my first stop.

Portions of catfish are way too small lol for price. My fish had a bottom of the lake taste! But the salad and beans were delish!

This is a game changer :D There are freezers full of delicious frozen offerings, fries, jalepeno taters, fried pickles, etc, and we grabbed a few to try. Also, there is a wall of quite the selection of local honey, jams, etc. BUT the real gem, the raw meat counter was chock-full of incredible cuts and varieties of meats! We decided to try to the cordon bleu chicken and brisket poppers this trip, as well as an 18 pound brisket, YUM! The employees were ready to help with any questions and even handed us a basket when our hands started to get too full. So grateful! I will note for future review readers, there is about a 4% card charge. Apparently there are signs that I missed while I was busy bouncing my eyes from product to product, so I ended up having to call once I got home about why the receipt showed a much high price than the label on the meats. So, the price label on the products is the cash price, totally understandable! In conclusion, Wise Choice exceeded our expectations on meat selection, and they even have Diet Dr Pepper and Topo Chico (I didn't have to run to Walmart for sodas! Woohoo!). Thanks team!!

We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.
