This place is a treasure! I stopped by for flat irons and walked out with marinated chicken wings, beef bacon, beef taco meat, strawberry milk, eggnog (both in glass jars and local)... and more!! Horrible Customer service, I called C&J to get prices on sides of beef. The guy I spoke with said they were not taking orders on sides until June or July. I said ok, are you selling any beef at all, he said yes. So I asked him how much for ground beef and he said "ok call back in June bye" He didn't even answer my question and hung up on me. Kevin and I are big fans of supporting your local butcher. There aren't very many of them these days, so we usually end up stalking them when we do find one. I'm sure we've paid for the C&J butcher's satellite TV times three due to our frequent visits. Surprisingly, it's often cheaper or the same price point to get your meat cuts here versus at Brookshire's or Kroger down the street. And the cuts are definitely of higher quality, and for some reason I just *trust* these guys more than the 17 year old kid at the grocery store. Hmm, I wonder why that is... C&J also offers an awesome selection of frozen seafood. Man, the lobster tails that come out of this place are freakin HUGE! We've also picked out scallops and shrimp, all which tasted fabulous. Do me a favor: stop buying your meat at the chain grocery store, and support you local butcher. They deserve it. read more

We took WAYYY too long to stop by...however, once we went last week, we've been three times since!!! So far we have purchased their Ribeyes (both bone-in and boneless), 80/20 ground beef, ribs, pork tenderloin & peppered bacon. Not one single complaint!! Service attentive & fast, very clean/smells great inside, the meat is absolutely comparable if not BETTER than any I've purchased...and best of all....the price is the same if not less expensive than our local grocery chains in Granbury. I love to grill steaks and we shop regularly at C&J for our custom cut steaks, brisket, beef ribs. You name it. This week we went all in and bought 45 day dry aged steaks and gosh were they worth it. Any time we want steak, if my schedule permits, I drive to Granbury to buy Fat Mema fillets. I would rather stay home and eat these steaks than go to an expensive, fancy restaurant. These are the best steaks ever and are worth every dollar!!!! Staff is great. Great place. The butchers are extremely nice and friendly and will do pretty much any cut of meat you could want if they have it available. The prices are reasonable, although not as good as grocery store sale prices. I had them cut up picanya steaks, season and vacuum seal (for sous vide) expecting them to cost more, but they charged me the same price. read more

Went in to pick up some jerky for my kiddos. They did not have a decent selection of flavors. I can live with that, the basics work. What I can not deal with, however, is terrible customer service. The guy at the register was not only a grunty caveman who was less than friendly, but he was rude when I asked him to run my card as a debit card. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely drop the $60 elsewhere and get VERY friendly service and VERY good selection and I know it is VERY fresh. If he hadn't already grunted at me that he already put my payment through the way he wanted to, I would have left my selection and walked out. read more

Today we scored 40 lbs of chicken and ground beef for $100. That is A LOT of meat, and a really excellent deal. One that can't be beat, especially given the quality! We are so impressed with the food and the people who work here are very helpful and kind. They have a ton of beef jerky and a variety of other meats we will be back to try soon. read more

OMG! Went there at last minute tonight to grab some steaks. Got 2- 1 1/2" thick filets. Probably the best steaks I've ever cooked or eaten! Our neighbors and friends all agree that my husband is a great cook when it comes to MEAT. We also know that when he purchases that meat from C & J - it kicks it up another notch. Most recently it was a bone in pork loin rubbed with a little Atkins seasoning. This was so good, it was like a whole different cut of meat. And the week before it was a beef rib roast cooked on the rotisserie. Wow! We don't have to order prime rib out because at home it is much better and way less expensive.
