I took time off work to be home for the appointment, only to get a call about fifteen minutes after the scheduled time saying they needed to cancel. No real explanation, just a last-minute cancellation after I had already rearranged my morning. I immediately requested a refund of the assessment fee, but it still took a full week before I finally got my money back. Between the cancellation, the lack of professionalism, and the delay in refunding my payment, this company showed me they can't be counted on. I'd suggest finding a plumber who values their customers' time.

So that morning she had called and said that they are not able to come at 11:30pm-12midnight so it was cancelled.I wasn't expecting them to come at that time dah, she knew that I requested 9:00am the week before. She never explained that I needed to pay immediately to make my 9am appointment. If that was the case I would have done so as I was in desperate urgency needing a plumber. I was very disappointed at what had happened. I requested for my refund of $95.00 fee , she said it will be refunded back. It had been 7 days now and I have not seen a credit back to my credit card. In this day and age no one should be checking and calling the business for a refund for a service that never happened and that was canceled. She promised I would be fully refunded. Still waiting..... This was a bad experience.

As a home owner you have a lot of responsibilities where you need to juggle many responsibilities such as but not limited to finances, insurance, property taxes, preventative measures and maintenance. The other week I wasn't feeling well and stayed home from work which ended up a blessing in disguise as I had a leak in one of my 50 gallon tanks. I noticed the leak from the night before where I shut all but one valve and turned off the electric breakers. As water leaks can lead to property damage, I had to immediately get a plumber as I'm not a DIY person. I reached out to my BIL where he recommended either Allen's Plumbing (AP) or Roto Rooter. I decided to first check AP on Yelp and saw low ratings from good friends of Peter Y. and Victoria A. It's unfortunate my friends had below average experiences with AP where I was skeptical. But I trust my BIL and took the leap of faith. AP is a local company that started in 1982 servicing 24-hour service to both Oahu and Maui. The process was simple and efficient. I called first thing on a Friday morning and after addressing my issue, I was advised their plumber can be at my home at around 11am. Their dispatch contacted me a little before 11am to inform Jonah, their plumber, is on his way and arrived at about 1120am. After the assessment, it was determined that one of my hot water tanks had both internal and external leaks. I was provided an onsite quote of replacing the tank, installation, labor, parts, and disposal of the old tank. I was forewarned by my BIL of the higher than usual quote with AP, but trusted the integrity, service and professionalism of AP and agreed to the proposal. After committing to the quote, staff went on the road to secure my water tank replacement and came back about an hour later. This allowed me some time to clear the area and place more towels on the floor as water accumulated. When the staff returned, I advised them to use the side gate for a much easier access to the wash room. Luckily it was a breezy and sunny afternoon, ideal conditions in transporting the water tanks and installation. It took about 3 hours for Jonah and his colleague to disconnect and remove the damaged tank and install the new tank. I'm no expert in this field but waited patiently as I do have solar panels which perhaps caused extra steps in removing and installing. When I saw one of the staff load a box with the leaking water tank into their van, I sensed the task was soon to be completed. Prior to Jonah leaving, I did also mention my sink fixture in one of the bathrooms needed to be replaced where he also gave me a quote. It was already late so it was agreed I'd be calling back once I've made arrangements to have my sister house sit for me due to my work schedule. I paid my bill in full and the boys left my home. I had some minor tidying up to do as the laundry room floor was still wet. Overall, an amazing first experience with AP where I'd be sure to contact them again. I am impressed of their service, professionalism, dedication and knowledge of their industry by providing the service to get the job done. Note that due diligence is also required by the consumer. I couldn't even figure out how to stop the water from coming out and within minutes water was pouring down the stairs and leaking into the floors below the kitchen. After calling everyone I could think of, including the board of water supply, with no one providing any help, I typed in "plumbers" into Yelp and started cold calling down the list. First Class Plumbing was the third company listed but the first one that seemed to care. I was warned that I was calling after hours so I'd have an emergency fee if I wanted service now... I joked "fine - this is an emergency" and was told I'd get a call back as soon as they could get ahold of one of their plumbers. I went back to trying to heave buckets of water into a nearby sink and received a call back 15 minutes later. The plumber was so calm, and after hearing that I was still dealing with gushing water, explained to me how to stop the water flow. He asked me to send him pictures of the burst pipe and the faucet and got off the phone to price everything out including replacing the pipes and faucet. After doing all that work he told me what the cost would be and then said it was no worries if given the price I didn't want to continue on - or at least wait until it wasn't an emergency (an extra $150 charge). I said I definitely wanted the service and he came right out and fixed the burst pipe. I would already have been raving about this place for their competent service if it had been a normal scheduled appointment. But the fact that this company and the plumber were there for me when no one else was, and went above and beyond walk me through how to stop the problems and extremely quickly look into part costs for me before I ever even agreed to the service has made me a loyal customer forever!
