I can remember when I first drove through the 12 South neighborhood when I moved to Nashville in…read more2008... my, oh my, how it has changed! For the lasses who love labels and covet designer denim, there was only Moda standing strong next to Frothy Monkey for quite some time but now this strip is lined with fashion forward options that include Leona, Judith Bright, White's Mercantile, The Label, and much more - with Emerson Grace being the newest kid on the block. Nestled in the shopping center as Jeni's Ice Creams, Cadeau, and Josephine, this fashion boutique caters to both Men + Women who seek designer duds and accessories. I could sense immediately that the sister store is based out of Los Angeles due to the hint of West Coast vibe and contemporary brands such as Current Elliott, Rag & Bone, A.L.C. Kelly Wearstler, Sanctuary, and more. I also admire that they also support local when I was greeted by a table of handbags made by local maker as soon as I walked in. They also recently hosted a trunk show for Nashville designers Jamie and the Jones too. While prices aren't for the budget-y babes, you can still scour a sale rack (in the back) for some deeply discounted pieces. When I was in last weekend, this single rack had pieces marked 60% off the original price. I was able to also score a fabulous Kelly Wearstler ring for only $45 when the sales associate assisted me at the jewelry cases. I had already decided to purchase a fun little necklace for $50 and then she showed me a tray full of their sale jewelry too. I couldn't say no! Service was solid and the staff were friendly. I was on a time crunch so I wasn't able to explore the Men's section but I bet that many fellas will be happy to know that the store was pretty evenly split with male and female merchandise. There were some great shoe options in the back along with some sleepwear and accessories throughout. I fancied a few of the scarves that were on display. I was most impressed with their extensive jewelry selection that encased the cashwrap area in the middle of the store. I'll definitely be back sooner than later!

Jewelry was pretty but I'm sure they were over priced like the basic clothes they had. Maybe their money can buy them some manners.

It is so interesting to go back in time and see that Nashville style play out in its old and grungy way in this cool store. They have everything from old dishes and trinkets, to that 1980's jean jacket your dad had. There are taxidermy animals, cowboy boots, army wear and vintage tee shirts. They also had some vintage looking printed tees that were made newly for the store that said Nashville in that weathered way that is trendy in this city. I just found this story so fun to walk through. I didn't buy anything but I will definitely be back the next time I am in town to see what treasures I can find. So cool. :)

We poked around and then asked about the price of a shirt that didn't have a tag to which the woman behind the counter responded "seven fifty", to which I responded to my friend "oh nice! do it!" to which the old lady behind the counter responded "Did you think I meant seven dollars and fifty cents? Go to Walmart." I'm not hating on Walmart but who tf talks to a customer like that? Lol And yes, I did think she meant $7.50 because I was standing in a small, hot shack that smelled like moth balls and was packed to the brim with crusty, oversized graphic t-shirts and men's cargo pants that I could find in my brothers closet. Or probably at Walmart, honestly.

The selection is solid, with a mix of everyday basics, unique vintage finds, and occasional hidden gems (like named brand, ethical, quality items - sometimes even with OG tags attached) if you're willing to dig. Prices are generally fair, though some items feel a little high for a thrift store. That said, the experience itself can be overwhelming as the inventory of this particular store always seems high - making the racks overly full, aisles tight, and if it's a busy day it might feel like a full-contact sport to shop, lol. If you can, go on a weekday or week night when it's less hectic. Overall, it's a great spot for thrifters who enjoy the thrill of the hunt, but if you're looking for a calm and organized shopping experience, this might not be your vibe.

The racks aren't very organized and the kids section is a huge mess - but I find some really good vintage gems and newer name brand finds here! You just have to dig, and then dig some more. In the same parking lot are the outlet bins (bring gloves).

I fell for this adorable, welcoming, simply, but carefully designed custom made denim shop. It was named after their grandparents and was housed in a converted gas station, in a very up and coming neighborhood called 12 South. It is owned by a husband and wife duo, with a passion for the back in the day way mixed with those unmistakable southern vibes. The patterns that hang above you as you take it all in against that pop of orange chandelier had this former designer gasping. The colors, textures and simplicity of the space I found just so, so lovely. Definitely worth a stop in regardless of your intentions. The ambiance alone is so hip! Unfortunately, I cannot speak about the jeans. I didn't purchase any as I'm trying not to stay this size for very much longer but mark my words, when I get back to my goal size, this is where I'm splurging! They look incredible! Excellent quality and carefully created to fit individual style and shape. Packaged beautifully and signed. They ship everywhere and you can purchase online as well! They have lovely hats, delicious smelling lotions, candles, scarfs, jewelry and such I splurged on instead. Prices aren't cheap, but it's the kind of stuff you wear often, even daily and it's made to last! Not a huge inventory, but some truly great pieces! They host musical bands outback and food truck festivities out front. It's definitely a groovy spot for sure! Carefully curated classics. The store is beautiful, well maintained, and they have a great selection. However, the workers were not friendly nor helpful. I asked one gal a question and she was visibly annoyed that I asked for a price on something that didn't have a tag. She didn't even look at me and replied in the most monotone voice. There were 4 customers in the store and 3 employees, but all of the employees were just chit chatting behind the counter. Disappointing experience to be honest. Really hope they improve in the future.

Looking for sales on Christmas decorations in late December after the holiday had passed, I found an excellent deal! There was this Santa's Bake Shop inflatable normally priced around $100, but it was about 75% off with "only 2 remaining" as the website touted. Stock was low so I had to act immediately! At roughly $25, this was a nice little bargain. And I could pick it up at the South Nashville location. So I bought it! Two days pass and the item should be ready in South Nashville. Instead, the South Nashville store cancels my order and claims that the item is sold out. What's the purpose of having a button you can press on a website to buy something that is low in stock only to have your order revoked? Is that how online shopping works with Walmart? But it gets worse! A day later, the item reappeared on the Walmart website ... fully in stock ... for $199.99! Say what?! Yup, Walmart is just that greedy. Why make $25 off a customer when you can make $200? And that BUY button on their website? It means absolutely nothing.
