I'll start by saying that, yes, I know I went to a nail shop to get my eyebrows done. But since the hive closed and it was a holiday weekend, I was desperate. And now I'm wishing I had waited. They started by clipping the outside corners of my brows and now one side looks tapered and the other is a blunt end. Not a good look. Plus there were tons of strays that I had to take care of when I got home. And then there is the weird bumps that showed up. Never had that happen before. My mom was also there and she didn't have anything wrong when she left, but said it was just an "eh" experience. Which is where they earned the 2nd star. read more

This is my go-to place.. I live like 2 mins away, but even if I lived 20 mins away I'd still come here . Today I went in and I was sooo skeptical of doing the stiletto nails, Lillie eased my anxiety and she said NO problem, she looked at the pictures I showed her and she did my nails to perfection !! My friend and I come here every time we get our nails and they always remember us and they're so kind and they are good at what they do ! I'm more than happy to pay a little more for a mani/pedi if it means it will be done right ! read more

Toe nails were uneven. Massage was okay. They were fast sometimes it's good. I would still go back. Ladies were nice.

I really enjoyed my time here. My nails looked fantastic and lasted a very long time. The only downfall is that it is about $20 more expensive than the average nail salon. read more

This was the most painful experience I've ever had! I got my dip nails taken off and a pedicure. Two artists worked on me. My pedicure was amazing. He was attentive, gentle and my polish came out great. No complaints here. My hands on the other hand were horrifying. He nicked my thumb with the drill while taking my nails off. Okay, it happens sometimes. Understandable I did not make a fuss but it did start bleeding. He apologized and continued removing my nails. 4 nails later and the drill slipped off my nails and wrapped around the bottom of my finger cutting it wide open. The entire tip if my ring finger starts bleeding and he pretends like it's not that bad. I tell him it's hurting really bad but I also don't want to make a scene in front of the other customers. It continues to bleed and I have to beg for a napkin. The language barrier makes it difficult for him to understand that I need to catch the blood running down my finger. Throughout the remainder of this manicure I am in pain and want it to be over. I didn't get up and leave because I didn't want the entire salon to take notice as it was pretty full. On top of this my polish is not even and my nails are not filed well whatsoever and they still charged me $102. I just paid and went on my way. read more

I wanted a facial NOT a Jujitsu deep-tissue massage on my face. This was the worst facial I have ever had. Facials should feel like soft pillows across your face and gently fingertip movements, not rough towels scrubbing residue off and being jammed into my ears. My temples still hurt from the intense pressure applied during the facial when she pressed so hard on both sides simultaneously to relax? me. I was never asked to fill out a questionnaire or given a facial consultation, except that I mentioned my skin had been very dry. She didn't know I had contacts on, and she was pressing on my eyeballs SO hard. As she applied the "anti-aging" serum to my face she told me it might sting a little. Oh, it stung alright. I almost cried! I had to ask her to remove the steamer (which was only hitting the left side of my face) because it was increasing the pain and stinging of the serum. The mask she applied onto part of my eyelids and I know you are supposed to keep masks away from eye area, not all over my eyebrows and eyelids. On my way home I stopped and got some aloe vera gel to help with the intense burning, redness and inflammation on my face. 8 hours later it is still hurting. Bums me out. Aside from the facial, she did an excellent job on my nails. Lastly, the lady that greeted me upon arrival was not very friendly, but the ladies working inside were friendly. read more

I use to like going here for acrylics, but the nail person I went to was always late even when I was the first customer of the day and had an appointment. I brought my own gel to use on the acrylics. I bought 2 bottles after I was told they would not charge me the additional fee for using my own gel (vs. polish) if they used mine. I did this a few times (not every time). After 2-3 uses per bottle it paid it self off....I went today and I was charged the extra fee when I used my own gel. No big deal if they said something about it changing. Lesson learned - double check the prices. read more

This shop is a little gem I found about a month ago. Such a cute place! They have the most up to date techniques and trends. They also have the largest amount of colors I've ever seen. My husband and I have been going for mani/pedis every 2 weeks for the past 2-3 years. Enough said?? This crew is amazing!

I'll start with the positives - Beautiful and CLEAN salon with friendly staff. Ample parking behind the building near the train station, or on the 101. Everything is pretty new, so the massage chairs work and everything operates as it should. Great selection of polish and shellack colors. Took us without an appointment. Negatives - High prices (probably due to high rent being on the 101 in Encinitas). Left my nails all jagged at the ends with the gel (shellack) manicure and the design started chipping off and wearing away after just 3 days (though the base color remains in tact). Pedicure was decent, but the gal wore gloves for the massage and didn't use enough lotion. Overall it was a fine experience. A-OK. If the pedicure "package" prices were lower, I might return to give it another chance. read more

This is the best nail salon I've been to in Encinitas and I've tried many. I'm very happy with my full set of gel nails I got here. So much that I actually think I'm going to keep them on for a while. I usually only get artificial nails for special occasions and take them off once they start lifting. These are 2 weeks old and there is still zero lifting or chipping. AND I just got back from a week of vacation where they were repeatedly exposed to the ocean, pools, and sunscreen. I did the gel polish on top and it was only $40 for a full set with gel polish! They have tons of colors to choose from and carry all the good brands- CND, OPI, Gelish. I don't know the girl's name who did them but she was fast and did a meticulous job and kept them shorter like I wanted. I will post a new pic after my fill tomorrow. read more

I came here with my girlfriend who comes all of the time. She loves to get her nails done here by Dee. She had the appointment for several days. I would've been happy to just leave a great review, but when I came on I noticed a nasty review from Elvira, who moments before we arrived tried to steal my GF's appointment. She admittedly had only called in an hour before and Dee was clearly booked for the entire day. The host very politely tried her best to accommodate her, but Elvira clearly was not interested in being cordial. She huffed off. I thought she was rude and was going to leave it at that, but when I saw that she left one star after that encounter, I'm completely shocked! Not only did she try and steal an appointment, but she had the audacity to complain and attempt to hurt the business of some incredible people. I had an absolutely incredible pedicure that felt so good I nearly fell asleep in my chair:) Kim did such an amazing job I will most definitely be coming back! My girlfriend's nails look stellar, Dee is truly an artist! As for Amy at reception, she is kind and considerate! I hope Elvira finds a new place to get her nails done or can maybe come in and apologize to these wonderful ladies if she wants to try and schedule another appointment of her own! read more

A great local spot; it's clean and nice on the inside (definitely not a divey nail salon!). Price-wise it's not the cheapest, but you're on coast highway in Encinitas, so that's a bit expected. I have been going to 101 Nail Lounge for a couple months now. I normally get Acrylics and they have a very good color selection for gel polish. My nails always seem to last pretty long even after getting filled twice. The only problem I have here is you have to make an appointment, they do allow walk ins but because they are normally so busy there will be a decent wait. I do recommend this salon if you are looking to get a full set. read more

So I paid almost $70 for shellac manicure and spa pedicure and the result wasn't even worth $10. It's been 8 days that I've had my shellac manicure and it's chipping. To make matters worst the nail polish was sooo far from my cuticles (unsure if that was intentional) that it appears that i got my nails done months ago. The pedicure is another mess that I rather not get into. The reason why I even gave two stars was because the manicurists had a nice personality. I'm happy with the pedicure that I received, but I also got a full leg wax, which was one of the more painful waxing experiences I've endured. First of all - I've been getting my legs waxed for many years and am used to it taking 25-30 minutes. I was in that waxing room for 1:15, which should give you an idea. The lady was extremely nice, but she ran out of the regular wax halfway through, so she switched to a stripless wax, which has been used on me in the past and isn't usually that bad, but this one was awful. It was so incredibly painful that I ended up pulling some of the strips off myself because it was so excruciating when she did it. She then looked again for more of the regular wax she was using and found the extra in the drawer, the entire time complaining about how this other machine was broken, how she had asked the owner to replace said but she hadn't, etc. etc. It was overall a really miserable experience which essentially served to reverse all the relaxation I'd enjoyed from my pedicure :( Also...I hate to say this, but I did have a lot of time to look around while in that waxing room, and, well - it was fairly dirty. Such a shame. These types of places are dime-a-dozen, of course - but I have run into plenty of similar places that are well-maintained and where one can get a decent cheap full leg wax. Booked 4 appointments the day before to come in for pedicures. The back of the business (outside) is not very well put together and not appealing. They only took 2 of us at once while 2 others had to wait for another 30 mins. Once we all finished to check out, the price increased and there were NO prices listed anywhere but on a side table inside where customers aren't even aloud. Customer service sucks and they are so rude and not accommodating at all. Beware of this place and the employees. New owner is not putting their customers in good hands. Christina was no help at all as well as the guy who rang us out. Useless. Many other places in town for nail salons. I suggest highly to go elsewhere. read more

I found this place on yelp. Pictures look good but when I walked in place was crowded. The manager I believe she was the manager if not the owner wasn't so welcoming. She was a bit abrasive. A lot of techs and the place is pretty crowded. I asked for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure and well I will say the pedicure was ok the techs were ok but my manicure was a complete bust. A little over priced for what I got. Maybe it's the location which always the prices to go up. I didn't realize how bad my gel mani was until I walked out. Friend and I were told 15 minutes for manicure/pedicure. After we were seated for pedicure, I waited 45 minutes with my feet in the water while my friend got her pedicure. I asked several times when they would start on me and was completely ignored. My friend's pedicure was done and they finally start on me. Then the same wait begins for her manicure. Same thing in reverse. We ask and ask when they will start on her and they don't acknowledge our questions. Finally start on her on manicure when I am completely done. read more

One of the best gel sets I have ever had. I had to wait a little in the beginning even with an appointment because the salon was busy. I can also be very picky about the shape of the nail, but specialists that worked on mine did a great job. The lady who actually painted my nails did an awesome job.
