Update: A few minutes after leaving this review I spoke with the GM, Lisa, who was able to schedule us in that weekend. When dropping off/checking in the camper, Kerrigan made a list of all the things that needed to be fixed. She then discovered the lock on the camper door wasn't working properly. She said they would take care of that too. A couple weeks later we picked up the camper and we were shocked. From the moment we walked in our jaws dropped. It was a night and day difference. It was beautiful. Juan, the tech who met with us, said he couldn't believe it went out the way it did and the person responsible was no longer with the company. We went down the list of everything that was wrong and one by one we saw it was fixed. We were happy, until we mentioned the lock. The lock that Kerrigan said would be on the list and fixed never was. Juan mentioned there is a problem with communication between drop offs and service. He was able to get a tech to fix the lock while we finished the walk through. Juan was great and thorough. So thorough we found a seal that wasn't attached properly and asked the tech to fix that too. The tech was so thorough, he found a crack in the seal at the very top of the pop out. Something we never would've seen. As is stands, we've had the camper for 1 week, with a temporary fix on the broken seal. We were told they would order the part and call us to schedule a time to bring it back in. We are still waiting for that call. We are much happier with the camper, but the experience overall has been dreadful. How can the sell such an expensive product in such poor condition? We found our used rv online and we drove from New Mexico to California to purchase the RV. Excellent service, they went over the RV and went as far as putting new brakes and new tires on the unit before we ever got there to the dealer. Excellent customer service. After we got home to New Mexico I realized we had the wrong weight distribution bars for the weight of our RV. I contacted this dealership to find a particular Forest River model. I filled out their pre qualification information and never purchased nor proceeded any further. Two weeks later my wife and I recieved a letter from 700credit.com that we were denied credit due to adverse action. We never applied for credit nor did we provide our Social Security number. An Adverse Action notification means that denied us credit which is very interesting since we never applied for credit. I am reporting this dealership to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB)"consumerfinance.gov. When I asked the dealership regarding this the answer received was, "why are you treating us like we did something wrong". Instead of taking ownership and providing assistance to their potential customer the woman who answered was condescending and quite defensive. Do not trust them with your financial information they are dishonest and do not care about their customers finanancial information. The agent from the CFPB informed me that this was very reminiscent of scams she has seen reported. read more

Husband and I went in to look at fifth wheel toyhaulers. 1st clue we should of left, was the two men that walked in separate directions when we drove up. After walking around the parking lot for about 5 minutes a lady comes out to help. 1st rv we stepped into, I asked the garage size, she didn't know, said she would look it up if I was interested...don't think I would of asked the question if I wasn't interested. Next question my husband asked was if the refrigerator ran on electric and propane (it looked like a residential fridge), again she didn't know the answer and didn't even bother to find out. Last straw was, I wanted a slide pulled in to see if the bedroom was still accessible when it was in, she refused stating that only service people could do it. At that point we left. My experience with Santa Paula RV was great from beginning to end. I called up about a particular fifth wheel they had listed on RV Trader, and spoke with one of their salespeople, Debra. She was very attentive, and was sure to answer every question thoroughly, or got us answers to things she was unsure of. I then dealt with Lisa, the branch manager, and she went out of her way to help us. We actually ended up changing our minds and going with a different fifth wheel after the financing had been approved, but SP RV made it a painless and fluid process. They worked with a local credit union, and got us great terms, which wasn't an easy ask considering we had never purchased a trailer in this price range before. They set our walkthrough up with Juan, one of their technicians. He was very friendly and thorough. We had the fifth wheel delivered to us by Gary, who was contracted by SP RV, and he was great too. We had a mishap during delivery, that was completely my fault. Gary was very patient, and Lisa even helped us out with getting that situation resolved. I'm not trying to cast doubt on the last negative review, but my experience was 100% different, and I can't say enough good things about these guys. We'll definitely go back to them when we're ready to upgrade, waaay down the line. read more

Terrible Place DO NOT BUY HERE! Debra is very rude, extremely pushy and has 0 knowledge of the trailers she is selling. My husband went to look at some while I was at work. He said Debra cornered him and was telling him he needed to buy from her that day. She went on to tell him how slow sales have been for her and also could not answer 1 question asked. Her only reply was Oh, I am just a salesperson, I would have to refer you to one of our techs for that. She might as well learn about what she is selling or attach one of the techs to her hip. We decided to go over to Camping World where they can answer a question in a heartbeat. Plus, my husband mentioned he felt harassed by her, the way she cornered and cried to him. My husband and i have gone through several RV's in the last few years so we have experience with a number of different dealers. I can honestly say we have not seen the high level of service, honesty, and (most of all) follow up service that Santa Paula RV exhibits. I highly recommend them and i dont say that lightly! Obviously others have noticed this as well because they are very very busy and staff are stretched thin; yet they still manage a level of service i havent experienced anywhere else.
