We stopped by to check out some bowling shoes. This shop is tucked into a corner at the Concourse bowling alley right by the restrooms. They had these REALLY nice white leather shoes that were reasonably priced, but I'm not good with maintaining white shoes so I didn't get them unfortunately but they will be on the back of my mind lol. He took my measurements and drilled my ball catering to a beginner since I've never had a custom ball drilled for me. Bowling with house balls was a pain since my fingers are skinny and none of the higher weighted balls fit me at all, I sprained my middle finger bowling with them. I've bowled with the balls Minh drilled for me and man, let me tell you guys that it fits well and releases very nicely with no pain even though I have a sprained finger! After several bad experiences at other pro shops, I was beyond happy with Jed's customer service. Other places we called/went to did not seem to want to give us the time of day because we were new bowlers. Jed was extremely welcoming as soon as we walked in. All I have to say is that this bowling pro shop is the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. Minh the owner has such a horrible attitude problem. If he doesn't pick up your phone the first time, expect a ton of attitude and unclear answers from him when he does pick up So basically from my experience, I called in on Friday asking if I could get my balled drilled and he told me to come in at 5pm on Sunday. I came in at 5pm but the store was close and I asked the staff if he was going to come in. The bowling alley staff were completely nice and told me to try to give him a call. I gave him 3-4 calls, but doesn't pick up once. I was a little worried and annoyed because I drove 30 mins to Anaheim hoping to get my balled drilled on time. I waited until 6pm, an hour after my set appointment, until he arrived When he does show up to his shop, he gets all worked up about me calling him 3-4 times. I apologized to him, but he goes on talking about his pet peeve of how he doesn't like people calling him multiple times. I absolutely don't understand this man. Aren't business owners suppose to pick up their client's calls or at least show some sort of response that shows that he's coming late. All I wanted was a response either through text or call telling me that he is on the way or isn't coming in today. I don't even know why I apologized to him as I tried to understand his personal life problems. After that, I gave him my ball and he took my measurements. Heads up, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to drilling balls so I don't know the process exactly. For some reason, he takes my left hand for measurements even though I'm righted handed. I thought this process was normal so I just went with the flow. I'm pretty sure I told him in the beginning that I was right handed, but I guess he didn't grasp that important detail in the beginning as it looked like he was stressing about something with his lawyer. So basically he took my left hand measurement and run back into his shop to get the ball drilled. He finishes the drill and notices that I was righted handed as I was testing out the ball. He gets all mad with me saying why didn't you say you were righted handed and I told him, you literally took my left hand to measure. He begins giving me hella attitude for no reason and I'm starting to get really annoyed. Long story short, he ordered me another ball which was suppose to come in 2 days later. I told him to give me a text when it comes in 2 days later, I texted him, no reply. I called him and he actually picked up on the first call. I asked him if my ball was in and he says he's not sure as he states he was not at the store at all today. He says he'll be there soon. I then asked him if I can come in today and he's gives you such uncertain answer like "it's up to you, but there's a slim chance I can get it done." At this point, I'm actually done with this guy so I asked him straight up again " Do I come in or no?" He replies with the same response but with more attitude. Then he ends up saying "im busy right now, you're slowing me down. Just come now" and then just hangs up. I didn't end up coming that day as I didn't want to drive 30 mins up for him not ending up doing it. LONG STORY SHORT, Minh is absolutely the worst possible business owner you can possible encounter.I tried to be patience, but his attitude problem is too much to handle. I really wish I was exaggerating about this review. This is my experience with him and I have to say, I wouldn't never want to go to this pro frame shop again even if it's the last in the world. Minh knows his stuff. I called in on a Sunday afternoon to see if they were busy or not and he told me to drop on by to get some quick work done. This is my first time getting a ball drilled of my own and i'm so glad I found this place. This guy is as honest, patient, and friendly as one can be! I got my hand measured and he told me it'll be about 7 minutes and a total of $25 for the drilling. Make sure you check in on yelp to get that 5% off, so I paid a low price of just $20. Afterwards, he gave me a few pointers and did some final adjustments. I definitely had a different experience here than basically every other review which is very odd to me. I want to try to be factual and straight forward here instead of just ranting and this turning in to a review that others don't take seriously, but please know this, I'm am EXTREMELY irritated as I am typing this. You've been warned. My dad got me a bowling ball, shoes, and a bag from this shop for Christmas. I had specifically asked my dad to get me a 8 lbs. ball because that is what I am comfortable bowling with. I know this...how do I know? Because it's my arm. I had JUST been bowling around Thanksgiving and I tried bowling with 8 lbs, 9 lbs, and 10 lbs. The 8 is what I bowled best with. When I opened my gift, my dad said he got a 10 lbs ball because "the owner told him 8 lbs were only for children." Well, that's cool, but not what I asked for and I knew I did not want 10 lbs., period. However, my dad told me that he said I could come in and exchange the shoes or the ball at my leisure. Fast forward to the 26th and I am going to drive down from Corona to Anaheim to exchange the ball and get it drilled. I called the bowling alley and asked what time the shop would be open. The guy said, "Ummmm he usually comes between like 1 and 2 but we never really know." Okay, that's weird for a business, so I went online to check since there was a website on his business card. Straight from his website: Monday- Closed Tues-Fri: 1-8pm Sat-Sun: 2-8pm So according to his website, he should have been there at 1pm on the 26th since it was a Tuesday. We got there at 1...sign on his door (those little ones with the clock) says open at 2. That sign is hanging directly OVER a sign that is taped to his door which details the business hours above....so I'm looking at a sign that says open at 1, with a clock that says opening at 2. Not gonna lie...I'm irritated at this point. I call the number on his business card to ask where he is and what time he'd actually be there since his signs are giving conflicting information. He tells me 2 and asks what I need. I explain the ball weight. He argues with me on the phone saying I should be using at least a 10. I say, actually no, I'm bowling right now with a 10 and it hurts me.He argues some more. I say I'll think about it just so I can hang up. He gets there at 2, I go and tell him I thought about it and I want a 9 so I need to exchange. I can tell he's offended I didn't take his "professional advice" and he says "fine, give me your ball and come back tomorrow I have to order one." I hand him my ball expecting a receipt but he gives me nothing. I say, "So that's it? You don't have to give me something?" He says, "See you tomorrow." It seemed weird to me and my husband said absolutely not, that we weren't leaving with nothing so he went and got my ball back. We left. I came home the same day and wrote him an email because I wanted to make sure he was going to order the ball still. I asked him to please email me back when the ball came in. Never got an email response. The next day, around 3pm my husband calls and asks if he ordered the ball. He says yes that it should be there sometime that day (27th) but he doesn't know the time. We asked if he could please call us or email me back when the ball came in since I can't drive from Corona to Anaheim every day. We also asked what time he'd be open until that day (again, according to website and sign on the door it should be 8pm, but I was starting to realize that those are apparently just suggestions). He said it "wasn't a good day because he was leaving at 5pm". Ok. Strike 2 on the whole pesky business hours thing. At this point, I couldn't get back down there until Jan. 2nd (today). So again, business hours says he's open at 1pm (Wednesday)....I bet you know what happens next..that's right folks! STRIKE 3! We get there at 1pm and of course, the clock sign says 2pm hanging over the taped sign that says 1pm. OMG! So we left, and came back AND HE WAS THERE! We walked in, said we were there for a 9 lbs ball. He did a sizing for the drilling. He said to come back in 10 minutes and the drilling would be done. 10 minutes? Now, 10 minutes using what clock? Because 10 minutes to me would certainly be different than 10 minutes to him since 1pm to me is 2pm to him (apparently). Suffice it to say, by 10 mins he meant 25 minutes but honestly, I was expecting it at that point. While doing the fitting he asked about my acrylic nails and if I'd "always have them". Yup, I would. So then he says, "Well just so you know, your nails won't last it will rub them off." I said "no worries, it's gel polish it doesn't rub off" He says, "yes it will. I do nails." Well he must not do them well bc I had just bowled 3 games and they were fine! It became clear to me, he just needs to be right about things/have the last word. I've known these kind of people before, not people I want to do business with, it drives me nuts. I won't return here. read more

Some friends and I wanted to get into bowling and join a league so we decided to look for bowling balls. We had some background in our styles from years ago, so we looked online for deals. We the yelp reviews on 10th frame bowling and am glad that we did. We were mostly sold on the instagram site name minh sanity. You can't not have a good time there with a name like that. We walked in wanting expensive balls with strong hooks (hammer widow, hyroad, etc) but Minh gave us some details about the makeup of the balls and told us it would make the game more difficult as balls were hooking stronger than when we played years ago. We chose to go with the Storm Match Up balls per Minh's recommendation. It's a step up from beginners but not too high where it couldn't be controlled. Since they weren't in stock in the weights we wanted, he was able to order it for us with fast shipping. Remember, shops can't carry every variation on every ball. 10th frame also provided great ball, dexter shoes, and bag package deals. First thing my friend said was, "dude, we can order it online for cheaper!" No you can't. The package deal INCLUDES drilling! Most places will charge you around 25-30. Add drilling and shipping and you won't find it cheaper online by a good margin. Minh also gave us some damn good mexican candy and some good jokes. Bowlingballs.com doesn't provide that. The only con I could think of was that he is very busy but he still got us our balls on the day and time we requested. We ditched work early and had to wait as he had other orders that were ahead of us. Tested out the ball last night and it was a great choice similar to the El Nino ball I used. The holes were a bit small for my style so I will definitely go back. We also need shirts for a team and wanted to ask him about his embroidery prices. Highly recommend 10th frame. Was looking into buying a new ball for light oil patterns, and knew which ball i was eventually going to pick up. Went to Concourse for a little family outing, and saw that 10th Frame was conveniently located in the alley. Decided to pop in and look around. When looking around, i noticed they had the exact same ball I was looking for. After speaking to Minh and his staff for a bit, i soon realized they were very knowledgeable and offered great advice. Their prices on the balls were lower than most, if not, all of the nearby shops in my area, so decided to take the leap and purchase the ball. Minh is a great shop owner. I didn't do my research properly and got too strong of a ball (online). I originally got that ball drilled from Minh and he did good work, making sure my fingers and thumb insert felt right. Gave me some sample tape on my thumb too. In the end I wasn't able to adjust to that ball. I took the ball in for a trade /credit. For a high end ball, he gave me a fair trade in price (especially since I found it cheap online). If you paid full msrp for a high end, might be more worth it to sell on own. As he said, I might be able to make more selling on Craigslist but to me it'd be too much trouble for me. Instead, I went with a trade in and got advice on what ball to get. After his advice and doing a little research before hand, he let me demo the 3 balls I was thinking about. Don't hesitate to rent a lane and demo balls from him. I decided to go with one of them and got it at a fair price. Ball fits my style perfectly. Pricing is comparable to online, once you consider that it includes drilling with the benefit of getting it same day (same goes for shoes and accessories). With both balls he drilled he gave a pretty standard layout for my style. I'm sure he can do it more specific if you knew exactly what you wanted. Other pros and cons... Pro: fair pricing, excellent service/advice, 5% discount with yelp, demo balls before buying, trade-ins, used balls, good inventory of balls (quick order if not). Highly recommend going to 10th Frame Pro Shop if you are looking to get fitted for your own ball. I'm just picking up bowling and wanted to get fitted for my own ball since I was experiencing arm and finger pain from using the house balls. Within 35 minutes of arriving I was measured and handed my nicely drilled Rhino ball. Minh also took the time to give me some "bowling 101" pointers and made sure I had the form down. I've been bowling competitively for over 20 years and have gone through numerous pro shop owners.. all have the same attitudes of just trying to make business and getting you in & out of the door. Minh & Cendy are totally opposite of that.. I cannot speak highly enough of the great customer service these owners bring.. not to mention, their knowledge of bowling. I first contacted them after finding a listing of an on-sale ball I was looking for. They were quick to respond and promised to hold on to the specific weight/ball for me until I came in. When I came in, they were very friendly and welcoming. Minh spoke to me a little bit about my game and what I was looking for in the ball. He quickly matched the fit of one of my other balls, which came out identical! One thing I appreciated is how he explained the drilling process and why things are measured the way they are and why balls are drilled to specific layouts. Loved the ball, loved the drilling.. and then a few weeks and a dozen games in, the ball started to form a huge crack. It's a common thing to happen, I'm just glad it happened early enough to where the warranty still kicks in. I immediately contacted Minh, he sent over the warranty to Storm.. the next day, he had me come in & he drilled out a brand new ball for me, free of charge! Awesome! This shop is great.. they carry all the new and popular equipment out there. The prices are unbeatable! I probably would have spent $60-$70 more if I bought the ball cheap online and got it drilled from some other shop. I decided to come here when I finally got the chance to grab my first ball. All the yelp reviews were great so I gave it a shot. I've been bowling about once a week for the past few months with my girlfriend. I decided I'd invest in my own ball and shoes (I'm a novice/beginner with a very low average). When I first came in Minh was busy with another customer. They where talking about how the customer wanted his ball drilled and what effect the customer wanted out of the ball. They talked for a while once, they finished I explained that I was looking to purchase my first ball. Minh helped me pick out a ball and drilled it to fit my hand. Once the ball was drilled he had me roll it on the carpet. He explained my faults and told me what I needed to work on and practice on in order to make my score better. Based on everyone else's experience of Minh, I decided to try this place a while back. I can say, the man knows his knowledgeable. However, what I found in the shop was a lack of professional attitude in getting the job done. I came in to get my ball re-drilled since it was giving me issues on my ring finger knuckle. So I dropped the ball off and he tells me to come back another day, which is normal. However, what happens during the pickup is where the experience goes downhill. I've already arrived when the shop is "supposed" to open and waited about 20 minutes for someone to open the doors. I sent a text message and he tells me to go run errands as he was going to be late. Okay, I give him the benefit of the doubt (note, because he later tells me has heartburn frequently). That's no problem. What he tells me afterward is what made the shop feel inefficient. By the time he arrives, there are a couple of other staffers there. They're all conversing with one another. He reaches for my ball and proceeds to ask me if i had another one he could compare it to. All I'm thinking is why couldn't he ask me to have brought one in sooner because at this point, I had to go drive back to my place to get a ball. Fast forward to me having my old ball at this point, he measures it and says that my current span is off by so and so, and he proceeds to re-drill it. What I thought should've taken about 10-15 minutes ended up in about an hour because he's enjoying conversing with his staffers and the other customers, as well as seeing what other customers are in the shop for. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he is good at what he does. However, his team lacks a sense of punctuality. The fact is that it is true that the shop does not open at the hours listed on the sign. I left for twenty minutes and drove back because I really wanted to get my ball redrilled. On top of waiting, there was even more waiting since conversing with the rest of the team on irrelevant subjects took the focus away from finishing the customer's request. The efficiency is low due to lack of focus on the task. What should've been a half-hour experience picking up my ball turned into about 3 hours from the waiting, driving back and forth for my old ball to compare to, and more waiting. Overall, Minh is great in that he helps out people. However, there's room for improvement, especially in the shop's listed opening hours, as well as focus on completing the task without getting distracted. read more
