Went here to look at a new bowling ball. I've been bowling with the same ball for 20 years and figured it was time to upgrade. I had been to other pro-shops and wasn't that impressed. Other shops push a particular brand and have just a few balls to pick from on the shelves. Here they carry several different brands and have a wide selection on display and available. They also have the best prices around include drilling in the price you see on the ball. Next, was how knowledgeable they are about the sport and products. Instead of telling you what you need, they walk through the process of explaining the benefits and performance of each brand and level of ball. Instead of telling you "this is the ball you need" like so many other shops, they assist you with what you want and what your budget allows. Last thing is about pricing. They have the best pricing of any shop in Orange County. I went to several shops and it seems like a game of price fixing is happening. Other shops have high prices for equipment and services. Here they look online and compete with online retailers for pricing. They also include drilling in the price you see marked on the ball. No balls were over $200 in this shop. You can't say that about other shops. Overall, a great place to get some knowledge about the sport and the equipment and to buy your gear at a great price. Based on everyone else's experience of Minh, I decided to try this place a while back. I can say, the man knows his knowledgeable. However, what I found in the shop was a lack of professional attitude in getting the job done. I came in to get my ball re-drilled since it was giving me issues on my ring finger knuckle. So I dropped the ball off and he tells me to come back another day, which is normal. However, what happens during the pickup is where the experience goes downhill. I've already arrived when the shop is "supposed" to open and waited about 20 minutes for someone to open the doors. I sent a text message and he tells me to go run errands as he was going to be late. Okay, I give him the benefit of the doubt (note, because he later tells me has heartburn frequently). That's no problem. What he tells me afterward is what made the shop feel inefficient. By the time he arrives, there are a couple of other staffers there. They're all conversing with one another. He reaches for my ball and proceeds to ask me if i had another one he could compare it to. All I'm thinking is why couldn't he ask me to have brought one in sooner because at this point, I had to go drive back to my place to get a ball. Fast forward to me having my old ball at this point, he measures it and says that my current span is off by so and so, and he proceeds to re-drill it. What I thought should've taken about 10-15 minutes ended up in about an hour because he's enjoying conversing with his staffers and the other customers, as well as seeing what other customers are in the shop for. I give him the benefit of the doubt that he is good at what he does. However, his team lacks a sense of punctuality. The fact is that it is true that the shop does not open at the hours listed on the sign. I left for twenty minutes and drove back because I really wanted to get my ball redrilled. On top of waiting, there was even more waiting since conversing with the rest of the team on irrelevant subjects took the focus away from finishing the customer's request. The efficiency is low due to lack of focus on the task. What should've been a half-hour experience picking up my ball turned into about 3 hours from the waiting, driving back and forth for my old ball to compare to, and more waiting. Overall, Minh is great in that he helps out people. However, there's room for improvement, especially in the shop's listed opening hours, as well as focus on completing the task without getting distracted. read more

I had 4 of my balls drilled here, and take my balls here for resurfacing and put in the oven to extract oil. Bowling balls that is. It's like getting a new bowling ball after going through the machines, love it. Not many places in OC that has their equipment in one spot. Ask for Minh, he caters well to all levels of bowlers and is always willing to help out. I've seen him in action while waiting for my stuff, whether it's helping customers pick out equipment, or visiting with the regulars/league bowlers that come in to say hi. I came in to drill a new ball I got elsewhere, and even though Minh had 6-7 balls to drill before mine, he knew I drove a long distance and made my ball a priority so I wouldn't have to come back another day or even wait too long. I accidentally came across this Pro Shop while looking for a birthday gift for my Nephew. We walked in with more questions than either of us would feel comfortable asking. Everyone was so helpful and friendly in spite of the shop being very busy. I was incredibly impressed, she was already answering most of the questions we had to ask. Made an appointment to buy 5 bowling balls. Showed up at the appointed time, the pro shop was closed. I asked at the front desk about when the pro shop opened? I was told, they were normally open by now. I waited an hour. I called. I emailed. No show. Several other customers came by as well. It amazes me that a business man can ignore $1000.00 in sales like that. I got a response to my e mail telling me the he was available now if I wanted to come to the shop. A Monday at 2:00 PM! I came here yeaterday to get my daughter's first plastic bowling ball by brunswick. And also for my second ball storm crux, that i needed to use on very oily surfaces. Minh asked for my crux pearl to see my tracks so he could learn more about my pap. This guy knows what he's doing and he drilled my new crux with a more aggressive layout to help me improve my game on oily surfaces. I needed a new ball badly (it's been 11 years). After reading some reviews and my friend who visited here recently recommended the place, i decided to give them a try. I am glad that i did and I can see why people love the place. Minh and Cendy are awesome! Their customer service is great and their bowling knowledge is amazing. I first walked in and was greeted by Cendy (Minh was in the back doing his thing). I told her i needed a new ball and what i was looking for. She asked me where i normally bowl (Westminster Lanes) and we went from there. She knew about the lane conditions (not that great) and helped decided which ball would best be used there. I was given quite a few options. When i decided on the ball, it was time for drilling. I bought in my old ball and Minh took a look at it. Just by looking at it, he could tell which way my ball spun!!! Anyway, he match my old ball to my new ball perfectly. He gave it to me and saw how i liked to hold my ball. He recommended that next time, i should adjust my thumb hole a little farther out, so i can have more spin on it. He also said that if i didn't like how it spun, he could drill a balance hole free of charge. Lets just say that i bowled my highest score in a long long time that night (187). Although, i have a few closer options for pro shops, i am willing to drive the extra 10 minutes to get all my bowling needs from Minh and Cendy!!! read more

Minh did an excellent job helping me find just the right ball for my throw. I use two fingers and put a heavy amount of spin on the ball, so he found me a ball that fit my throw. I was able to try four different balls before i found the one that felt right which helped immensely because the ball initially thought i wanted was awful for my throw apparently! They can be busy on weekends but worth the wait if you want an honest person, who gives great advice and has excellent prices. Planning to come back and get a second ball soon!! read more

Great Experience. Some of the reviewers are too hung on the idea that this business should just treat everyone like a number. Your mindset is what made your experience negative. Walk in knowing that this is a big family. You might think that those league bowlers will be too uptight to talk to you, if you thought that way then you are too uptight. Everyone there is super friendly, always willing to answer your questions and provide guidance. That is what makes this place GREAT! If you want to be treated like cattle with a number stamped on your forehead, go somewhere else. If you want HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and to be treated like family then you must go here. I've bowled (if you can call it that, gutter sweeper) at Concourse for over 20 years. In those 20 years, never went into this shop. My kids love to bowl, its a great way to spend close time with family, so I decided that it would be a good time to entertain the idea of buying all of us our first ball. Went into 10th Frame Pro Shop hoping to get some guidance, and wow did Minh give great guidance. He made the experience very comfortable. No pressure at all. Other bowlers came into the shop and stepped in to answer my questions, met even more great people. It was a lot of info to take in. Told Minh that I would return the following weekend with my decision. Returned as promised. Over the years I have always bowled with 10-13lb house balls. Reading online, its normal to go up 1-3 lbs when you purchase a ball of your own as the holes will be drilled for your hand thus making the ball easy-er to control/manage. I didnt believe this was real, though a few of the league bowlers came in the store and said the same thing. So, with Minh's help I picked up a 15lb. After measuring and drilling the ball, he took me out of the shop to give me more guidance on how to hold/swing/release the ball. He watched my movements and told me what to correct. Came back the next day to bowl my first game with my own ball. Keep in mind that my average range has always been 100-125. First game with this ball was horrible, score was around 75. Second game was 156. Next game was 148. Minh and the others were right, going up in weight from a house ball to custom drilled is the right way to go. Bowling a 13lb house ball, I felt like a sissy with hand cramps and overall soreness. Custom drilled 15lb, not a single issue. As for the store hours. Sign says he closes at 8p yet he is in the store till 11pm. He has a bowling family, bowling business, and his own family. I would expect that he take whatever personal time he needs and close the store whenever he needs to for his own personal reasons. He is a person. Like I said, want to be treated like cattle with a number on your forehead where no one will listen or care about you, go somewhere else.
