As a lifelong martial arts practitioner (TKD, Shotokan, and some Judo and Kendo), I gave it up when I went off to college. I was so scared to try something new, but Rick made sure that me and my husband could try out the class before we make any decisions or even just sit and watch. I joined recently mainly for Muay Thai but I know for a fact that the jiujitsu here is top notch. I've trained with head instructor Rick in the past at another 10th planet gym and he was always a great training partner and excellent instructor. Jonas is the Muay Thai instructor who I have also had the opportunity to train with in the past. He tries to tailor the class to the needs and goals of the students.. whether it's to get in shape, learn self defense, or eventually fight in the ring, which he has a lot of experience with as well. I have been wanting to get back into regular Martial arts training for quite some time and I am glad I found out about this 10th planet gym. My personal experience at this gym was great. I trained here for over a year until i moved out of state. Great and friendly gym for people of all skills and athletic abilities. The Coaching staff there with Rick, Zack, and Pon is excellent. They host one of the biggest open mats in the IE every Saturday. Parking is great and the facilities have clean bathrooms and mats. Not a good place to sign up and start your jitsu journey. Im voicing my thougths here to warn new beginners about this place. No gym owner should charge 30$ on the day you start your free trial. Period. Everyone should get a feel for the gymand jitsu. But instead i feel the owner wants to feel his pockets. Theres other local mma/jitsu gyms that will be humble enough to let you check their gyms out and not worry about a "welcome pay me fee. " I hope this heps the jitsu community read more

So... I came here from out of town for a weekend of Seminars and wow. The place was clean, the students were friendly, the instructors were affable and giving with their knowledge. The seminars were great, and they made sure the little things like extra bathrooms for the extra people attending were taken care of. They even had an on site food vendor. I can't imagine how great the day to day classes are when they are this good at larger scale events. After about 9 months I'm still not very experienced as far as jiu jitsu and muay thai are concerned but Rick is an amazing instructor and will make sure that you get the technique correct so that you can do it correctly if you ever want to get in the ring and not get destroyed!! I recently moved close to the area and the hardest part for me was bot having a 10th Planet near by to train at. Thankfully, that's noblonger an issue since 10th Planet Redlands has opened. Rick is an amazing instructor and had traveled the world obtaining knowledge of the grappling arts.
