The teeny tiny parking lot holds maybe 16 cars, but there's plenty of parking right outside in the residential area. We went today, which is a Friday and although the street signs said No Parking on Fridays due to street sweeping, at least a dozen cars were parked so I took a chance and parked on the street too, hoping the patrol and street sweep already happened. I carried our camping chairs and stuff and posted up inside the splash pad where there was shade under a big palm tree. They had 4 concrete benches and ledges but most were not shaded. A bunch of families had their blankets and chairs set up outside the splash pad fence under all the trees. The restrooms were just past the front of the entrance to the splash pad. The play ground was right next door with some shade and a good size jungle gym and 4 swings, 2 of which are those giant chair swings. And because it is summer, the school district had 3 pops that were serving free lunch to all the kids. Fridays was cheeseburgers, which was perfect! They packed up around 12:30pm, so come before noon! We had a blast and will definitely come back this summer!

Only downside, like all of MoVal nice parks but the playground is always in direct sunlight so kids can only play on select areas without getting burned.

The soft sand feels so good and the kids enjoyed playing with it as well. Being California Coast, don't expect ocean water to be warm as it'll never be warm and should not be since it'll be a destruction to the coastal ecosystem if it did. So, be prepared that it'll be cold to chilly depending on the weather of the day impacting change in temperature perception. Parking fills up quick so definitely come early during weekends and during sunset hours.

These guys apparently are getting a quick return on their investment, because $9,000 for a days rental for a Mid-Level Mastercraft is absolutely insane! I decided to take Hula this month. It meets every Tuesday, 2pm-4pm. The teacher is Yoyo and she's…read morekind, sweet and patient. Last week there were four new students and so she's willing to go out of her way to start at 1:30 this week to teach us the basic steps in Hula. They dance to about 6-8 songs so it's pretty crazy to remember the steps on all of them. The ladies who are there now have been there for about two years so they are well-grounded. Yoyo provides the hula skirts and leis too. They have been asked to perform in a church function and personal events.
