I want to be clear that this review is for the tasting room location, not the main winery, which I really enjoyed. The wine here was still good, and I loved that they had a little kids' area. As a parent, that was such a thoughtful touch and definitely made the visit easier. Unfortunately, the service is what brought this experience down. I stopped in twice, hoping the first visit was just an off day, but both times I left feeling like I wasn't welcome. The woman working seemed irritated and annoyed anytime we interacted. I could tell she was the only one there, so I genuinely don't blame her for being overwhelmed, but it still didn't make for a very inviting experience. The tasting room itself was okay. It's a bit dated and could use a refresh, but the biggest issue was simply the atmosphere created by the service. I really hope management can get this location some extra support. The wine is worth stopping for, and with friendlier service, this tasting room could be just as enjoyable as the main location. read more

Quaint Michigan-owned Wine Tasting in South Haven, Michigan. One block away from the harbor. Visiting on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, the store was not overly crowded. My friend and I stopped there on our leisure walk. There were 4 people inside, with 2 waitresses working. We were politely greeted by Kim, who explained the "run of the land." You get 5 tastings for $12. Like most wine tastings, there are options of whites, reds, semi-sweets, and sweets. There is a $4 uncharge to try the ice wine. Although I'm usually a "Red Girl," my favorite was the Beach White and the River Stone White. My least favorite was the River Stone Dry Rosè.Rose. My friend's last favorite was the PinoPinot Grigio. I must also admit that Pinot Noir is typically my wine of choice and this one was not very good to my palate. As a pleasant treat, this establishment also offers a variety of ice cream bars from another Michigan-owned business called Icebox Brand. We did not try them, but it is reportedly delicious with options for small and large bars. Another bonus is you get to keep your tasting glasses! Quaint little tasting room for the winery that's located about 30 miles west in Benton Harbor. It was cold and we went during off season but warming up with some wine was perfect. The space is open, airy and modern. You can try 5 wines for $12 (sweeter ones are $1 more). I tried a white and a few reds. I ended ultimately buying their Cab Franc because it was so good! Plus checking in on yelp got me 5% off a bottle of purchase The lady working there and serving was friendly and knowledgeable and she also gave me a piece of dark Sanders chocolate to enjoy with my wine! This place was absolutely hopping on a rainy autumn Monday-- I was surprised! This is definitely a nice place if you want to do a wine tasting-- they have a nice variety, you get little pieces of chocolate and you can keep the wine glass all for a reasonable price. It was a little leisurely for us (partially because it was busy) but I know a lot of people prefer that. I gave them 4 stars because the only standout in our tastings was the peach wine-- we didn't really like their signature Beach Cottage wines or their more Michigan-centric fruit wines. I would still definitely consider it worthy of a visit. read more

She poured each sample without rushing us through, held pleasant conversation, and was not pushy on sales! Stopped in for an afternoon wine tasting. Wine was good, the location needs some bar stools though. The new employee was nice and friendly with the other group that was there doing a tasting. She discussed the wines with them and gave recommendations to local things to do etc. The person serving our group barely spoke to us. She didn't say anything about the wines. When our tasting was over she just told us our totals for the tastings and didn't even ask if we wanted to purchase any bottles. A plus is that we got to keep the tasting glasses, however it would have been nice if they were rinsed out. read more

Much nicer than Gravity across the street. The tasting consisted of five pours for $14, I believe? No pressure to buy anything but I did end up buying two bottles. All five wines I tasted were great but I loved the Pinot Grigio and the Cabernet franc. If you buy four bottles, you get 10% off which is nice! My group of four were also offered some delicious salted almond chocolate. I'm not sure if your tasting glass is included in the tasting price or just if you make a purchase, but that was a nice touch as well. read more

We have been here before but this is the worst service yet. Our server brought water, chips and dip to the couple next to us while telling us to pay for a cheese board if we were hungry. Never offered us water but brought the other couple a carafe. I wish I knew her name to steer others clear from her. We have had better service from other servers. read more

The staff was friendly, the tasting was fun and we bought six bottles of wine there. Every single cork disintegrated upon trying to remove it from the bottle. Opening the bottles has given us so much frustration that we will probably never buy another bottle of wine here. My family and I were taking a stroll around downtown South Haven and decided to stop in for a wine tasting just to pass the time. The wines were nice, the Chardonnay Reserve especially was great, and the tasting room interior was really nice too! However, overall our experience was super uncomfortable. My mom and I both work in the wine industry and are super interested in all types of wines in general so we were asking a decent amount of questions just to understand more about the wines and how they are made. The server became unusually passive aggressive the minute we said we were in the business and mentioned the winery we worked at as well as because of the questions we were asking. We were even told "I feel like you are trying to spy on me" in a abrupt tone when asking about the barrels the wines are fermented in. We were then avoided the entire time and hardly given any service or information even when there was only 3 other people in the room. Not to mention, during our tasting we were told that our server had "Looked us up but couldn't find anything that she liked, so it wasn't worth it," now granted that is understandable but the comment was completely unprovoked and just made us feel under appreciated as customers just because we are apart of the industry. The brunette server is a racist. She seemed knowledgeable about her wine selection but she neglected my black friend and was rude to my wife and I. My wife happens to be Latino. Do not come here if you want to be treated with respect. It's a shame because Their wines are actually pretty good, with a wide selection of fruit, dry reds, sweet whites even ice wine...
