Nice day biking on Van Buren trail. Looped in during happy hour. Recommend the Barnabas Collins, Red Ale if you like Killian's. Went down smooth with a bit of hops at the end. The man ordered the Oatmeal stout and said it was better than bread in a jar, whatever that means. Barkeep was friendly but in your face friendly. Michigan nice in the best sense of the term. Bar was cool and dark but not dingy. Will be back.

Hundreds of Hops stop #19 on our 2024 self-guided Hops Passport Brewery Tour The parent (or sister) property of Oakestown, which was our favorite stop on our Michigan Edition Tour A nice, long bar top with 3 friendly, tho beaten down staff running it. They had a big ole bacon event today that sold out & had them hopping. The music starts soon to boot. This means we're here in the lull. We were advised that the menu is the same. I don't remember well-enough to dispute that, so, yeah. Solid beer in a nice location &, on that note, I'm off to listen to some Irish foot-stomping tunes live.

Dave was our bartender and he's GREAT! Friendly, funny, chill guy. My brother is the beer aficionado and our cousin and I not so much. He gave great recommendations and Ivey beer we each was stellar. Haddie got our last round and was super friendly, too. Both of them were crazy knowledgeable! Definitely come to Harbor Light if you are in town or a local.

Happy hour Monday-Thursday. $1 off of pints. No food but you can bring food in if you want. Nice selection of beers & ciders. I ordered a flight of 4 beers and a peach cider. Bartender was very knowledgeable about the selections. Beers were priced reasonably. I ordered the Everlasting Gobstopper which was the pumpkin spice ale. This had a good pumpkin spice but was a little too heavy in the coffee flavor. The Red hared cider was a peach flavor cider that would be refreshing on a hot day. The Maggie's frog was a kiwi lime gose that had more of a lime flavor than kiwi. It was the appropriate level of sour but had a little bit of a bitter finish. The IPA's were where it was at. I ordered both the snake and turbo IPA's both were excellent. There were 3 other IPA's that I did not try. Next time I will probably stick with an IPA flight. Very cool spot.

One of our trips each year is a visit to Lake Michigan's western shores for a few weeks. We rent a home on the lake and visit local establishments for shopping, dinners and fun. We went into Harbor Light Brewery, in South Haven, to take some local beers back to our friends as gifts. The older man waiting on us to fill an order wasn't the nicest. He seemed to be the owner, but not sure. His customer service wasn't the best. He seemed more interested in the younger women in this establishment than paying customers. We really don't hang out in breweries, so we had questions. He seemed put off! Hope it was just an off day, but for price we paid for his product, you might think he would be pleased. One of his larger orders for the day I would think. We bought some brews and he even made a comment about us spending so much for the beer. Why would he care? Rude. Our visit was in late summer. Our friends really aren't a fan of his brew. We have several cans left from our dinners, parties. My experience with dealing with the public is to be kind, answer questions, sell product. I guess this brewery has a different outlook. We won't be back.

In town last week. Went every day. Great venue! Very open and welcoming. In our opinion hands down the best quality and tasting beer in town. Got a flight of 6 and an each was better than the next, seriously. They know what they're doing. Live music Sat night, and they welcome you to you bring in your own food. Super friendly beertenders.

I'm really late on this review, but this was a great place to end our self-planned wine and brew tour this summer. Located in downtown South Haven, this spot featured that cozy, sort of hole-in-the-wall yet still classy vibe. It was packed that day, and the only seats left were at the bar, which was great if you wanted quick service. They also had live music on the stage in front of the window. The peach cider was great, and we will definitely visit again when in town.

This is a nice spot downtown South Haven to grab a beer and there is no food. The guys behind the bar were very personable and fun to talk with. Maybe it was just me, but I was not too big a fan of the beer. For example, there was a mango wheat ale that tasted like artificial mango flavoring.

Flight Zoltan, blueberry cider, peach cider and crisp apple cider.

We enjoyed the covered outdoor patio sitting area and great ambiance. This place was hoping busy on a holiday weekend and we felt like we were her only table. Our family ate like royalty. From the amazing appetizers those stake nachos were banging good, but the spinach artichoke dip was on point, and stole the show! Buckle up because who in their right mind would make a pizza with crab Rangoon flavors... three blondes did, and it's delicious! while the pulled pork was good and anywhere else would have been perfect it was just good compared to all the amazing food on our table. Chick and twist pasta was bland, no notable spice/flavor to the chicken and sauce congealed. The orange cream drink was a hit - tasted like an orange julius! We're from the Grand Rapids area, so it was a bit of a trek being about an hour and a half away. GR has plenty of karaoke options in the surrounding area and a ton of breweries - none that I'm aware of mix the two, nor have anything as unique as this. Seeing as it was our first time here, we didn't know what to expect. It was pretty packed, actually pretty hard to find seating. Thankfully, we were eventually able to get a spot near the stage. One thing to note is that they don't serve food; however there's usually a food truck onsite, so that's nice, if you happen to like the type of food on that particular day. The place was pretty packed, of course it was a Saturday, so wasn't a big surprise. Unfortunately, a few of the adult beverages were unavailable, apparently due to the 10-year anniversary the day before. I first tried the dark bodega Mexican lager, it was good, but not really what I was in the mood for. So, I decided to try something a little different, I'm glad I did. I went with the peanut butter & jelly ale, wow, I was really impressed! I ended up sticking to the PB&J's for the rest of the night. A couple of others in my party, who normally don't like ales, tried the PB&j and thought it was great. All in all, it was a great experience. The karaoke was a blast, some absolutely incredible singers. And I've never seen a crowd so engaged, the place was full of energy, so I'm sure that added to the overall positive experience. If Watermark wasn't so far away, it would definitely be a regular visit for us. We missed the last crowd elimination karaoke event in June, but are planning to make a return trip for the next one in July!

He then proceeded to take everyone else's food order, even though they sat after us, prior to come back to take ours. We finally ordered and they pizza came out. Couple points in the pizza, it was good mind you but each topping is $2.50. If I get bacon on a pizza I'm expecting more than a sparse sprinkling of bacon bits on my pizza for that amount. If you order ham on you pizza they provide a good amount but the pieces of game are pretty large and tend to come off as part of the initial bite. They have a food runner that is delivering the pizzas so we didn't interact with the waiter again, no check in, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks. Multiple attempts to flag him down went ignored, I finally grabbed my own to go box for the left overs. I was finally able to get his attention after he made five trips to fill up a water cooler so that we could pay. Food & Drinks great. Service was dreadful.
