This is a hidden gem in Tierra Verde! Casual environment with water views. Seafood heavy menu and everything we tried was fresh and cooked well. Our server was so sweet and attentive. Will be back for stone crab season!

I'd have given this a 4 star review, but my crab legs were cold, and my friend's collard greens were also cold. Other than that, we really enjoy the views and service was good.

I have eaten here several times over many years. I love the comfortable, old Florida decor and gorgeous views of the water. The menu is mostly seafood. They had a great earlybird special for Maine Lobster at 14.99. We ordered 2 of those and filet medallions. They were not busy & we ended up being very disappointed w our male server. He forgot my greens & later our dessert. I have eaten lobster many times over my life, but I have never had to crack it out myself like you do stone crabs. They cut my husband's so he could easily get his out, but mine was not. I would not order the greens again & the filet didn't have that much flavor. Don't waste your money on the peanut butter pie. I have had much better.

Always a great lunch or dinner spot. We love grabbing a seat at the upstairs bar when available. I usually get the Crab and Shrimp broil. They also have excellent Rum Runners. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. It is a fun place to come. Always something going on!

We totally indulged here! It was my sister's 50th and it was the perfect spot. Even though the place is huge, I recommend making reservations. Quality of the food was top-notch. It can be a bit loud, but that comes and goes. We even ended the night moving to the dance floor for a couple Santana songs. Great fun!

I can't speak for everyone else I can only say the day my daughter and I went. Everyone was absolutely excellent. The view was excellent. The food was excellent and we got there at an excellent hour. The Staff were Excellent! Donna thank you! I couldn't sum it up any better than to declare all of it as Excellent!

Our first time here! We came with some friends on a weekend and were able to get right in. There are lots of tables in the restaurant side with a really nice view from the window tables. They also have a bar side to the left of the restaurant entrance. I'm not sure if food is served over there. All the kids ordered chicken tenders and fries and it was pretty standard. My husband and I ordered the Snow crab legs, and our friends ordered the stone crab. He did have questions about the size and they so kindly walked us over some of the claws to show how big they were! So nice. We really enjoyed the food! There's also a little dock you can walk down to rent clear kayaks and go paddling. Really cute!!

Great food, great service, great old school feel. Maddie was our server. My wife has been serving for the best coconut shrimp.... She found them.

The crab and shrimp boil was delicious.

This place is great. We went for an early dinner (5:00) and glad we did because it got very busy. The service was great and so were the happy hour specials. The house margarita was very good. We had the crab and shrimp boil. It was so delicious. There was a lot of food and it was all amazing. It was $39 but well worth it. We enjoyed every bite.

We were excited to get the Lobster a la cart 14.99 special. I was not expecting a whole lobster, and it was delicious! Service was pleasant, and the place is huge with TVs in one areas and the best A/C ! Can't wait to come back!

    Enjoy the ride!

Ask the Community - Billy's Stone Crab

Is the steak any good, frozen?

The steak is actually very good, but I'd definitely recommend the Stone Crab over the steak if you like Seafood.

Can I get in by boat, figure 3 ft draft? Thanks.

Yes depending on tide situation. They have a large dock. Fab food - highly recommend! I go there every single time I am in St Pete. Amazing smoked fish spread and more.…

Snappers was packed at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. However, as it was late July, we were able to get a table outside right away. There are fans to help with the heat, and it's well ventilated so there was a nice breeze. Our server was prompt and friendly. The menu was seafood with an Asian flair. We started with the crab stuffed portobello (probably the weakest part of the meal) and delicious coconut shrimp. After that, our entrees came with salads, which were also great (tortilla chips and a zesty dressing made it more fun than your usual house salad, but it didn't feel too decadent). I got the snapper, which was served over coconut rice and with a delicious curry sauce and mango chutney. The curry reminded me more of thinner Japanese curry versus Indian or Thai, which I loved. The snapper itself was a nicely-sized piece and was cooked/seasoned perfectly with a hint of spice. The coconut sticky rice was so addictive!! The sweetness of the mango chutney just made each bite a wonderful flavor explosion. I would 100% recommend this dish. My husband got the coconut cashew crusted mahi, which was also excellent (and another huge portion of fish). It seems like you can't go wrong here with a fish dish!

You order at the food truck, grab a picnic table under the trees, and wait while everything is cooked fresh. The sign says, "Be patient. Be kind." Trust me, it's worth both. The smoked wahoo dip disappeared embarrassingly fast. Creamy, smoky, and packed with flavor. The blackened grouper sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, flaky, moist, and piled high on toasted bread with fresh toppings. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy, sweet, and one of those meals that requires extra napkins and zero shame. Even the roasted broccoli was charred just right. Come for the seafood. Stay for the quirky atmosphere. Leave wondering why you've waited so long to eat here.

There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting St. Pete Beach, it's an easy recommendation and definitely worth a return trip.
