Came for the burger :)…read more My husband and I live in the East Bay and wanted to go on a lil drive. We decided on Murphy's for the Watering Hole burger which did not disappoint. We ordered 2 Double Cheese Burgers, the Broccoli Bacon Ranch Salad and an order of French Fries that included a side of ranch. All of what we ordered was delicious. The burgers come with double patties and are grilled along with the onions, the bun lightly toasted, soft and sweet and included a smear of 1,000 dressing. The burgers have 2 different types of cheese, fresh crispy shredded lettuce, pickles and sliced ripe tomato. It is the perfect combination and proportions of all ingredients. The Broccoli Bacon Ranch salad was not like anything I have had before and was a nice surprise to our taste buds. The salad included fresh bell peppers both yellow and red. It also had pickled onions, sunflower seeds, bacon and blue cheese that was all tossed together with ranch dressing which made it very convenient and easy to eat. Last but not least, the French Fries. They included a nice seasoning on the outside for a crispy texture and a creamy inside which I love. I liked the fact that they serve the fries with homemsde ranch and I didnt even have to ask for it...it's the little things for me. We sat inside to dine, I enjoyed seeing what others were eating, of course lots of burgers but also ribs, pasta, chicken sandwiches, salads and even cheese cake for dessert. I like that the menu offered a variety of options and brought great value for the quality and care that you can taste in every bite! I did not notice any issues with service as I saw other reviews reported. I would say that the inside, although cozy was a bit loud while others socialize. I think it was simply the high ceilings that carry the noise. The outside seating area is another option and is very nice as it's next to a stream which we would have chosen if it hadn't been 57° outside that day.

The bartender was really helpful and made a recommendation that helped my decision. I was here to watch some soccer. I was constantly being checked on by staff. They were very pleasant. WORLD CUP LUNCH: PAID TOO MUCH FOR LITTLE FOOD…read more After watching US defeat Australia at San Pedro Square Market I decided to come to O'Flaherty's Irish Pub for beer and food prior to the Morocco-Scotland game. Seeing the Scottish drinking Boston dry I wish Scotland had played some of their games at Levi's Stadium. The closest thing to experience the Scottish atmosphere was this Irish pub. I was disappointed when I looked at the food menu and did not list corned beef tacos as stated on the website. Also the food menu listed only five items. I ordered fries and chicken wings. For beer I selected Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. The beer was refreshing however I paid too much for the price of food given the portion provided. The fries were crispy but paying for a basket of fries for $10 I expected the portion to be bigger. I will say the chicken wings were slightly crispy on the outside but most of all juicy inside. My pet peeve is when fried chicken wings are dry. Yet I paid over $18 for chicken wings. I thought I would get a dozen of wings; I only got five wings. For $18 I could have gone the deli section at the grocery store to get eight or ten pieces of fried chicken. Overall the Smithwick's was soothing but given the prices of food especially during a World Cup watch party there should have been more items listed on the food menu.

The parking is easy and close; the staff is friendly enough. The choices for drinks and eats are way more than enough with plenty of variety. My wife ordered the chicken parm, and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. We both agreed that our dishes were spot on and that we WOULD be back. The total for the two entrees and a cocktail for my lady ran just under a hundred, including tip. One caution: this place is LOUD. We stopped by on a late Sunday around 5:30 pm, and the patrons were talking so loud you could hardly hear the person across the table. Earplugs would help.

Then I noticed the customers cars- all new nice vehicles (MBZ sedan, new Ford Bronco, Toyota 4-Runner, etc) The bar section was kind of crowded at 4:30pm, only a couple of seats open, so we sat in a funky raised booth with our backs to the window. Seemed like a lot of regulars as they all knew one another. Female bartender came out and took our beer orders and then brought menus. We ordered food (fish & chips, and a BLTA Club). Friend said they have great fish & chips and she was very pleased. i was surprised to find the BLTA far above my expectations for a pub. Fries were good too- perfectly cooked to a golden brown. I would go back for that sandwich when in that area of town. The food items were each just over $20-24, four beers $9 each. With tax and 20% tip it was just under $100 I'd go back 100%. Not a place I'd take a date, however.
