Very disappointing experience. It was billed as one of the top 5 haunted houses in the country. I've been through at least 20 that I would put in front of it including a first year show in the woods in Vernon, FL. Wanted to surprise my wife with a great haunted house and it was anything but. It was Nov 1. Maybe half the staff didn't come to work that day? There were extremely long segments where it would have made sense to have additional characters. If it was free or even a local fundraiser with volunteers it would be an ok house. Don't waste your money on this one. read more

Went on the last night. Energy better pre Halloween, but way more manageable post Halloween. Relatively expensive, but totally worth it. Have a young daughter, she was scared...tried to get her to see it was just actors...no go. Jerry the dead plumber from high school came over, introduced himself, and put a face to the fear. But daughter was still apprehensive. To my surprise, Jerry then asked if she would like him to walk her through it. Having already bought the tickets, this was the middle ground we needed. Jerry walked her thru the entire house, keeping the monsters at bay and we survived. Thank you so much Jerry!!!! In the future, boys minimum 10 and girls probably three years older.... At least. They also offer a walk thru with the lights on Saturdays during the Halloween season. Great place to start to teach controlling your fears and risk management IMO. read more

I just wanted to express how amazing this Haunted house is! Plenty of scare actors. Line moved fast and scare actors were even outside with us. Inside the haunted house is massive! It's more like 3 haunted houses in one. They refresh and revamp decorations and themes each season so it never gets boring. The actors inside actually interact with people and have their own characters! It brings you to the shop, axe throwing, and escape room at the end. Marina was so helpful at the shop. The items are fun and unique. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Our pictures came out awesome. If there is one thing I would request, PLEASE DO A ST PATRICKS DAY HAUNT!!!! Such a fun experience full of jump scares, rooms decorated in spooky themes, and actors committed to the roles! Shaky floors, and you can hear the other patrons screams as they went through the maze of the haunted house. I didn't stop laughing as I anxiously made my way through the rooms. We love haunted houses. We scour all over the country to enjoy haunted houses. We got tickets to this event as a gift yelp elite winnets. This haunted house is easy to find. The parking lot is likely to be over flowing because of the popularity of it. Do not let that stop you. Print and bring your ticket with you. The line to get through security is slow and long. If you have your ticket printed before arrival you can skip that part of the line. If you purchase a v.i.p. ticket and bring it with you. Eventually someone from staff will fine you and bring you to the front of line. Once you get to the house entrance you will have an option to take a picture with the person or group you are with. We suggest you buy the picture digital combo. Inside the haunted house was above any we have seen in our country wide search. This was not your typical one hour line five minute haunted house. This haunted house has so many good features I would have to right a three page pamphlet to describe it. So, to sum it up. You will will be scared many times. They have not common designs on the trail through the house. They do have two standards for all haunted housew which is the rotating tunnel and the tunnel you have to squeeze through with no light. If you are a haunted house fan. You will not be let down by this one. If you have little experience with haunted houses. Bought tickets for 9pm Monday the 13th, got in line around 8:20 and unfortunately didn't get in to the actual house until midnight. Kids skipped the line the whole time making the wait even longer. House had really cool aspects but it seemed like there were so many scare actors missing. The last scare actor at the end of the path was shouting things like "I was supposed to leave at 9:30. You can leave now...". Seems like they were unable to handle the volume this year, didn't have the staffing, and weren't able to uphold their own code of conduct. Pretty disappointed. read more

With VIP passes and general admission, I spent nearly $200 for three people, expecting an extraordinary experience. Instead, we got a quick, uninspired walk-through that fell far short of what was promised. I've been to haunted houses nationwide--from Halloween Horror Nights to small-town attractions--and I love immersive, scary experiences. But this one was a major disappointment. This was a fun haunt! I'd bought our 4 tickets online that morning for 10pm entry, but as this was the last weekend of September, we had no wait. Several scary characters wandered around outside and posed for photos with us. Inside, the effects inside were really awesome, and the walk-through was quite long. I did notice that many areas were lacking scare actors, which is my favorite part of a haunted house. Y'all know I love a good scare. I was thrilled to be picked as one of the winners for VIP tix for the opening night of the 13th Floor!! (Full disclosure - I'm actually a bit of a chicken - so I was a little skeered). When my friends Emily & Michelle said they got tix - I had to build up the courage to put my name into the drawing too! We were able to skip the line & got right up to the front - it's such a popular attraction, the lines were long. We met a few of the characters outside & I heard a scream or two before we went in (ok - one was me). They did such a great job with the effects! I was blown away by the attention to detail. The performers were awesome - great makeup & costumes. Plenty of scares around every corner. The use of effects was disorienting (drapes, lighting, fog, lasers) and kept your anticipation high! The scares were on point and unexpected - just the way it should be! read more

It was night, and it was scary. I was thinking, "Who's going to come out of the darkness?" I cannot forget him. It was a demonic clown, and he was looking at me. I was so scared that I couldn't react. He looked like a clown from my childhood nightmare. I didn't know what he would do next. Would he chase me like the clowns in the park on YouTube videos. Or was he like the clown from the movie IT? He would try to get me to come closer and I go missing forever. I was really afraid of the unknown. The 13th Floor sparked my curiosity but quickly extinguished it. I would probably give them only two and a half stars. :| .... The 13th Floor invited us to come as Skip-the-Line VIP Media (from a Yelp Contest,) but it was too complicated to get inside the haunted house. We didn't know where to go. We didn't know who to speak to. After going around in circles, we finally spoke to a guy who had the list of STL VIP media. They were suppose to have tickets for us, but the guy in the employee office said their printer was down. There was a tremendous lack of communication between the guy with the VIP list and the staff. The final straw was... We were at the entrance of the haunted house... the young lady told us that our media devices are not allowed. After telling her, that we were VIP media, she told us that we need media badges and we should speak to someone else. But at that point we were tired of running all over the place like a chicken with it's head cut off. We decided to leave. We were no longer in the mood for the haunted house. I'm not upset. I'm just in disbelief that it was a nightmare... even before entering The 13th Floor. .... I can't really review the haunted house. I can only tell my experience from the car to the front door. The staff had walkie talkies, but they were not talking to each other. I know events are not perfect. Neither are people. But there should have been better directions. If you have to wait in general admission, that defeats the purpose of VIP tickets, right? We got there early, but still didn't have our tickets on time. We went on opening night and had an absolute blast! It was visually stunning, the actors were amazing, great jump scares, and WELL worth the money we paid for fast passes. The staff were awesome and helpful and we couldn't have had a better experience. If we're in Jacksonville during their open season, we will attend EVERY TIME. read more

The time, the effort, the thought processing they put into this event really shows. This is hand down the best Haunted House I have ever been to. It is by far worth the price of admission and I will 100% be back. When you think it's done, there is more. We were prob in there for 20+mins. Favorite rooms: 1. At one point they had you walking through a maze filled with fog. You could see others around you but the fog made it feel like you walking through water. And of course, there were people hiding within the fog to scare you 2. The was a mirror room that every way you look you see yourself. Only made it out cuz of the guy in front of me. Scariest room had a person Pop out of a closet and scurry across the counter towards you. Like what you see in horror films but this was real life. Literally my worst night mare! read more

This was my first encounter with a haunted attractions here in Florida. And I must say, I miss New York's Haunted Attractions so much. Before I get into the actual review I will say if you have an opportunity to get the fast pass please do. The strategy for who put the line to get in together looks insane. So if you go to this attraction please get the fast pass. Now on to the haunted attraction, you have to remember like I said in the beginning paragraph I'm used to haunted attractions from New York where you're actually scared walking through a house or a warehouse. When I walked through this attraction I'd like to say it was ok. Their were so many areas that could have really been scary that were not. So many areas where their could have been more but their wasn't. The actors were well out together and their makeup was awesome, but when it came to scaring people the scare was there. I'm not going to sit here and Lie and say I can't be scared because I do love a good scare. But the only time I was scared throughout my way through the warehouse was when they had a dropped ceiling come down and that's it. I gave it three stars but my review looks more like a two star but the actors wardrobe and make up was awesome just wish they were more into their role than they were. read more

Before I begin this review, I won tickets through a Yelp contest to attend The 13th Floor. Originally, I thought that I only had one ticket, but they actually provided me two which was really nice and surprising. I arrived to the haunted house at about the 8pm. The line was very long for opening night. Luckily, I had the skip the line pass. Initially, there was some communication issues about the skip the line process which did take up more time than I would have liked, but it didn't ruin the experience. After they figured things out about the skip the line process, we entered the house. We got to take a before picture to possibly purchase at end of the house. The house was pretty long with some pretty cool special effects at the end. I don't want to give it away, but if you're into haunted house you'll enjoy. The experience was nice, but I do believe that opening night could have possibly ran smoother with more staff and possibly an officer to control traffic. read more

This fun house/ haunted house is a must see in Jax! I had the pleasure of scoring a pair of tickets as a yelp elite member and attended opening night on friday the 13th! I've never been to this attraction before, but I guess I am in the minority because there were 1000s of people there. Be prepared to wait in a long line in the parking lot. I highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time, and you can pay extra to skip the like if you so wish. You will be wanded/ go thru a metal detector so plan accordingly. This is the longest haunted house I have ever been to- you really get your money's worth! There are great scares, animatronics, and great special affects. Be prepared to walk on unsteady surfaces and for lots of loud noises & tight spaces. The actors will never touch you but some props might. 4 stars instead of 5 since there were some kinks to work out with traffic flow thru the house, and some sections didnt have any scare actors at all which was disappointing. Plus this part of town isnt my first choice of a place to hang out in a line in the parking lot. read more

I would definitely do fast passes next time without a doubt. Longest, continuous haunter house I have ever been through! I won 2 VIP skip-the-line tickets from a contest on Yelp- so my visit was free. Friday the 13th was the opening night and insanely packed! The lines stretched across the parking lot, I parked at the edge of the lot by Rooms to Go and walked passed the lines and went to a security person and explained I was supposed to pick up my tickets at the box office. She escorted me across the open space between lines and talked to another security guy- who pointed at the massive box office line. He asked me what kind of tickets I was picking up and I told him the were "Media VIP" passes. He looked back at the line and told me that I could go right into the skip the line and tell the ticket agent that he cleared us to go in. And so the fun began! A dad in front of us with his 2 boys was taking video of the crowds and saying that the $100 was well worth not standing in those lines! You enter in and stop for a photo op- next I found myself at the front of our group- first one! Oh boy- bring it on. I am hard to scare- too observant for my own good, but the thought of being first- maybe they'll get me! Tons of screams and jumps from behind me- we navigated the twists and turns of incredible detailed rooms and hallways. Great animatronics, wonderful costumes and make up for the scarers! They even had foul smells at points throughout the maze. I tried to go slow- giving ample time for haunters and I didn't want to catch up to the group in front of us- but I still did! I made it almost to the end before one half scared me! It wasn't the full blown heart pounding, stomach drop I was hoping for- but she still startled me. The very last part of the house was my personal least favorite- I passed through repeating "I don't like this-I don't like this-I don't liiiiiiikkkkkeeeee THIS!" lol- oddly enough the only part where no "one" was scaring me was the scariest part! Forgive me for not giving away spoilers! I want you to enjoy it for yourself. I have done many haunted houses over the years- and was a Howl-O-Scream regular when I lived near Tampa. Why drive all the way to Orlando for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights when you can have the whits scared out of you right here in Jacksonville. I won tickets for the 13th Floor opening night on Friday the 13th through a Yelp Elite Contest which included two Skip-The-Line Media Passes. Halloween started early in NE Florida because the line was very long and the parking lot was packed. This was my first time to this attraction and I had a blast! I went with my fellow Yelpers John and Michelle who also won The VIP passes. (tip: I recommend going with at least 2-3 friends for moral support) Normally Im ok with scary movies but the 13th Floor proved me wrong. With the VIP passes we were able to skip the long line and go right to the front. There was not much direction as to where to where the entrance to the haunted house was. A very scary character showed us the way to the entrance. Beware the man with the top hat appeared cool and collected but made me scream and run ;) Inside the haunted house I was impressed by the special effects. A lot of effort went into the production design, props, makeup and costumes. The attention to detail was amazing, the house hold objects along the way took me right on to the set of American Horror Story. The flow of the haunted house as confusing, a few characters were missing and the overall flow of themes threw me off. Ok this is from the movie IT then I'm walking into a scene from the Shining. My favorite part was the fog and lasers that simulated a swamp scene. I was holding my breath while swimming through the maze. By the end of the night my voice was gone. Parking was an issue, very little space I recommend carpooling if you can. If you have children under the age of 10 this may not be the ideal "family Halloween outing." The group picture was a nice option, but my code to see the image online didn't work. As you left they were handing out discount passes for AXE throwing which looks like fun. I was so excited to win skip-the-line media passes from Yelp for the opening night of the haunted house. When we arrived, it was a mob scene (maybe due to their $13 Friday the 13th promo?) Even with skip the line passes, you will have to wait in the security line which stretched far across the parking lot and back. It moved pretty fast though and helped build the anticipation. Once we made it through, we "skipped the line" and were able to get to the front door without waiting in the long box office line. My group agreed that next time, we would probably just wait in the box office line instead of paying an extra fee...it was all part of the fun, and we were all in great moods. I loved the haunted house! It lasted forever and there were several areas that had me scream out loud. I was happy to be at the tail end of a group so I could see what was ahead. A few areas had traffic jams inside, and a few areas were missing actors, but this was opening night so I am sure they are working out the kinks. It was warm inside; dress light! Note there are port-a-potties in the gated area out front (post-security). I have never been to the theme park Horror Nights but my friends said this was a way better line to house ratio. Disclaimer - I won two skip the line/fast pass Media VIP tickets for opening night through yelp. That said, the guy working at the beginning of the line told us there was no skip the line for the first line, so we were in line 45 minutes before a lovely employee named Brad got us in. The experience was completely worth it. Unlike 45-2 hour waits for 10 minute tops haunted houses at the big parks, the 13th floor seemingly went on forever. The couple in line ahead of us were way ahead for most of it. When we did get behind them they joked "are we ever getting out?" There are only realistic props and scare actors, and no one behind us as we were the last two inside. They did a great job organizing that. The long line made sense when you only allow in so many as not to be giving away scares to those behind you. They came after me again when I thought had I escaped. I won't give away my favourite parts, but if you've seen open water or the reef you'll get that same eerie feeling. They did do classic jump scares, but this one part in particular you couldn't see where they'd jump out. read more

I won tickets through YELP and was part of the VIP media pass holders that were supposed to "skip the line"...when we got there, the line was already crazy long. We went to find the box office and were told we needed to get in line. Um no, we were told we can skip the line...guess not. I got in line and my friend walked around speaking to everyone she could about what was supposed to happen. No go. So we stood in line for 45 minutes and when we were about 10 minutes away from the front, someone pulled us out of line and told us to get into the VIP line. When we were wanded by security, we then got in the VIP line, another surly fellow told us we needed tickets. And we were like oh hell no, here's my email. After some going back and forth, he let us go through. We are now at an hour in on our "skip the line" media VIP pass. But I'm like, ok cool we are in now so let the terror begin. Nope. No terror. Not even a fright. Nothing. We were told they were short staffed so maybe the places that seemed weirdly empty were supposed to have actors? I don't know. I just know it generally sucked. The props and makeup were good though. They also take your picture which you can buy at the end for 9.95 plus tax. No thank you. I should say there was this one really cool effect where you looked and felt like you were underwater. If I paid for that experience, I would have been really upset. read more

We went for their Krampus themed haunted house (the normal haunted house with a whole lot of Christmas flair) and had a great time . Really good production value and several great jump scares. Afterwards we did their mini escape rooms and axe throwing. They would have likely received five stars except one of the mechanical elements of one escape room was broken (something easily fixed with a little wood glue) which made finishing the puzzle almost impossible. Overall we had a great time and the staff were hard working and very friendly (or at least as friendly as you can be while jumping out and scaring people) . read more

Came here for Halloween and Christmas. Both were really good but I wish the Christmas one would have had the kreepsville items for sale again. Actors are good but maybe repeat more than the few lines they do. Also, when one group catches up to another, have one of the actors stall that caught up group so the other may move forward so people don't trample one another or bump into each other while walking. All in all it's a good haunt and we'll be back for the next one. read more
