We ordered two breakfast meals to share, and they come with drinks. The satay beef is really authentic, with that satay and peanut sauce, the beef is super tender too. It only takes $0.50 to upgrade the noodles into Hong Kong brand packaged instant noodles, which is a good deal if you are craving for it. I don't like how they made the spam, too thinly sliced and overcooked, which is a little too dry. Scrambled eggs need to add $2 which is overpriced in my opinion, so we were stuck with the sunny side up egg. The iced lemon tea is pretty authentic too and will come back for that next time.
I was really craving Hong Kong style food and was really missing Lan Kwai Fong restaurant with their Set courses. I got a recommendation to come here and even though it was a bit farther for me, it was worth the trip. Plus it has parking in the back!! Bonus!! All the food we had was very good. Though they did have a dish or two that didn't seem to be available even though we arrived pretty early for lunch. I'd rather they just adjust the menu than tease us with something we want off the menu and then have to feel pressured to find a substitute while the waitress is waiting for us to order. We had the salt & pepper pork was a popular dish (based off of Yelp reviews, wink wink) and it did not disappoint. We also had the egg shrimp chow fun, soy sauce fried noodles, hot and sour soup and HK ying yang drink. Prices were a bit above normal but quality is good. I'll be back.
First time visit on a Saturday 3 pm. Meter parkings on the same block was full. Found a parking spot a block away at residential area. Place was 1/3 full when we entered. We were greeted immediately halfway through the door. We ordered: -Original French toast $6.50: Fair. -Pork pan fried noodles $18.95: crispy noodles. Can benefit from more flavoring. -Baked beef tongue spaghetti $15.95: thin sliced beef tongue instead of thick cut strips, missing texture feel. Flavor was good. -Baked chicken fillet fried rice $12.95: taste ok. All baked dishes come in smaller portion due to the shallow container. -Rice with sweet and sour pork $12.95: weekend is $12.95 but weekday is $10.95. Crispy and flavorful pork. -Large hot Hong Kong milk tea $5.50: disappointing. Didn't have the volume and smoothness. Overall, ambient/ service / seating / decoration are satisfactory. Food is fair to okay. If I'm in the neighborhood, I will try other dishes; however, I won't make a trip there just for it.
This is Hong Kong style cafe! It has various breakfast food, lunch, appetizers and dinner items. Kaya toast! Buttery buns!! The drinks are great! Hot or cold,, so many to choose from. The red bean slushy was yummy!

For breakfast, we tried (1) combo E with pork chop; it is a good portion and comes with a hot coffee/tea; (2) mixed sauce rice roll, I like that it's cut side ways in half with bigger surface for sauce, but the sauce is a bit sour for me, won't order again; (3) pineapple bun with thick butter, have always wanted to try this somewhere and finally tried it, no regrets but may not order it regularly; (4) hot HK milk tea with half sugar, the hot version tastes a bit astringent (涩) to me. We don't mind coming back to try other dishes. They take cash and Zelle. Some parking spots in rear but can also do street parking in residential area.
The satay noodle dish and curry beef were both very tasty. While the carrots were slightly al dente, they were still enjoyable. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.
Good: The decor.. it looks like prince tea house. Might be too fancy for me. Extensive menu. A lot of selection. Might need 10 minutes to digest. Food are mediocre at best. Nothing stands out. If I have to choose the best dish we ordered, it is the French toast. It has a cute hk flag. The worst dish is probably the stuffed three treasure. It lacks stuffing and a bit dry. The shrimp toast a bit oily. Ice hk milk tea is ok, coffee taste pretty bad, taste like vietnamese instant coffee. Overall, it is a nice sit down place.
I was with my wife when we tried this cafe which offer a wide variety of Hong Kong-style dishes with both traditional and fusion options. The interior is clean, modern, and comfortable, with pastel colors and both booth and table seating. The menu is extensive, including noodles, rice dishes, street food, baked dishes, and toast. The staff was noticeably welcoming, friendly, nice, attentive, and provides fast service. We were able to try their Veggie tofu skin wrappers, shrimp toast, mushroom longevity noodles, baked Portuguese chicken over rice, sweet and sour fish, honey lemonade, mini French toast bites with an ice cream on top. I specially liked the shrimp toast which is chunky, crispy, and not oily and the HK-style French toast which was indulgent, with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior, often stuffed with fillings and they topped it with a complimentary ice cream that made it yummy. The mushroom longevity noodles has long, uncut noodles stir-fried with chewy mushrooms and aromatic sauce. The baked Portuguese chicken over rice was delicious and flavorful. Prices are reasonable. The place is recommendable for casual dining, for costumers who like HK-style cuisine and for those who are looking for dining with reasonable price.
Quality: 9/10 meat and vegetables are not overcooked, everything comes out BURNING HOT so you know its fresh Variety: 9/10 a lot of popular western and hong kong dishes as well as different specials for breakfast, afternoon, and weekends (they have 3 types of red bean slush!) Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 9/10 decor is very new and modern, there are a lot of booth seats for the girlies, only one bathroom but clean Service: 9/10 always 2 waiters working and they have been pretty attentive the past 4 times I visited Price: $20-$30/person including tax and tip I didn't give this place 5 stars because the price per dish for a HK cafe is a little high imo and they also only take cash or zelle.
Great new restaurant in the area serving Hong Kong style foods! Inside is a nice space with several tables and even booths, also very clean. The service is quick and the staff is friendly too. Their menu has a good variety of items with noodles, rice, street foods, toasts and more! Hong Kong Cafe food tends to be an influence of different cultures and you can really see it through the different dishes on the menu - baked dishes that have cheese on top, curry samosas, and more. They also have the classics like beef chow fun among others. I really enjoyed trying some of the foods and can't wait to be back to try more! The really do their crispy items right - like the shrimp toast which had chunky shrimp and breaded but fried well. Highly recommend that item! Also, make sure to get their pineapple buns and French toasts! Hong Kong style French toasts are a unique take on French toasts and some of my favorite types! It's almost like a dessert, indulgent and delicious. They have a nice crispy exterior while still maintaining the fluffy bread on the inside and stuffed with different fillings that are delicious. Condensed milk drizzle is a must!
The restaurant was not good for big party, most of the seats were designed for group of four max. They had some booth seatings, but it wasn't really good because the booth may move if people sat behind you moved around. It was a bit noisy as the seats were too close to each other. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The stream rice cake with mixed sauce was excellent, but the portion was a bit small for an adult. The wonton noodle was good, the tenderness of the noodle was just right. The red bean ice cream was a surprise. It came in a tall narrow cup, but it was already bigger portion than expected. The red bean was well made, very soft. A small parking lot was in the back, but very limited space because they were sharing the parking lot with other businesses.
We arrived just after 8 PM and we're welcomed with a smile. I was craving shrimp toast and longevity noodles. To my dismay, the main cook was out for the night and longevity noodles were not an option. I did enjoy shrimp toast and pan fried noodles with seafood. The servings are family style which means when we both order an entree, we shall take food home. The lights were bright and it was warm until a party wired as we sat on the side of the door. Ordered the shrimp toast, was good but too much toast for me. HK tea with milk was a must. I do enjoy them giving us a carafe of water for the table so I didn't have to keep flagging the, down.

From the moment we arrived with our four children, the blonde-haired lady who appeared to be the manager or owner seemed annoyed that we came in with kids. When we asked whether they had clay pot dishes, she twice told us to "look at the menu" with an attitude instead of helping us. The service throughout the meal was poor. Our children's plates were taken away in the beginning and we were not even given enough utensils. Staff members were also talking behind us in Cantonese, which made the experience very uncomfortable. The biggest issue was the bill. The restaurant added a "charge" that appeared to be an included tip or service charge, but nobody informed us about it. Since it was not clearly explained and they still asked for an additional tip, we unknowingly tipped twice. Only after getting home did we realize the total did not add up. They even charged us for take out box. When I returned to ask about it, the manager/owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, she questioned us, blamed us, and repeatedly motioned for me to stay quiet. She even wanted to check the camera to verify how much tip we left. At no point did anyone apologize for the misunderstanding or the poor customer service. I also felt that families with children were treated differently and unwelcome there. Customers should carefully review their bills before paying here. Charging an included gratuity without clearly informing customers, while also requesting an additional tip, is misleading and unacceptable. The overall attitude from management was arrogant, disrespectful, and completely lacking in professionalism. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this restaurant completely ruined that for us. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone. read more

Love this place. Not only it brings back childhood memories, but the food is really good. I went the first time for a yelp event but I have been back at least twice a month and every time I bring someone with me who also live this place. For weekday lunch they have special that comes with a hot drink for $1 and cold drink for $2. I think I tried most of the menu and I have not had an item I did not like. The service is good and the nice pastel color modern decor is very pleasing to the eye. The bathroom is clean and well Maintained. Go and try this place...you won't be disappointed. read more
Our family's go-to weekend chachantang. We love their HK drinks best and sometimes even drive out just to pick some up to-go. Smooth, creamy, and refreshing. They're an all-encompassing good quality establishment. We've tried various dishes and haven't come across any misses. A highlight is definitely their satay beef chow mein and their peanut butter french toast. So light, fluffy, and crispy when eaten fresh. Their creamy chicken and corn soup with the puff pastry top is cute looking but idk if I'd get again. Overall: great HK comfort food and space. read more
Exceptional food, service, and location. Right on northern boulevard on the douglaston side so I don't need to travel down to downtown flushing for Hong Kong style Cafe. The owners were originally from HK and had their other cafe in flushing so they're authentic as heck! My favorites are the baked Portuguese chicken with fried rice, the mixed steak platter (with pasta) and pepper sauce. Wash it down with some "yin Yang", which is a combination of milk tea and coffee. Best of both worlds!! read more

Wanted to stop by for breakfast after attending a Yelp dinner event. There were lots of other people eating breakfast. The owner/daughter, Gina, remembered us from the event! The Egg Sandwich (with Ham) had perfectly fluffy and buttery eggs with a nice piece of ham on toasted white bread. The Hot Lemon Tea was very lemony. The Truffle Scrambled Eggs and Danish Toast (with Pork Chop) had soft eggs topped with black truffle powder (light in flavor), a tender and flavorful pork chop, crisp buttery toast, and a side salad with a light Italian(?) dressing. Great for a quick and authentic Hong Kong breakfast. Will have to come back to try other dinner dishes! read more

1480 HK cafe at first made me think of light fare but I was very mistaken. It has a large menu; decor is bright with lavender pops of color; booth and table seating. After an event there, I returned with my husband, then brought our whole family last Fri night. The place had people coming and going and was pretty packed. The owner, her daughter and the staff were friendly and very attentive; remembered me from previous visits which is nice of them. About the food: Shrimp toast - light, crispy and not oily but was a little bit on the last visit. Beef stew noodle soup - chose angel hair noodles - was al dente; rich broth; generous amount of tender beef and tendon, radish too which was new to me but we liked. Salt and pepper dishes - squid, and pork (over-rice) - crispy, salted but not too much, with a kick from the jalapenos. Some menu items have a $2 up-charge after 2:30pm, like the over-rice options. Salted fish and chicken fried rice - flavorful and good portion for sharing especially. The pork cutlet came with rice (or spaghetti), salad, a choice of sauce - creamy white tasted like bechamel. The pork chop burger, with fries, was juicy and good fries. I liked both the Iced HK milk tea (creamy) and the milk tea red bean slush. Can adjust sweetness. Clean restroom available. Located on busy Northern Blvd. with residential and street parking (check signs ie No Standing from 4-7pm). Accessible by bus too. read more
More like 3.5 stars. The service is quick and the staff is nice. Do be mindful that they only take CASH. Food was good but I was disappointed with the HK style toast because it was $2 extra to add condensed milk and it was at most a teaspoon. read more

A cute Hong Kong cafe in Little Neck with delicious options perfect for people living in Long Island who do not want to drive all the way out to Flushing. There is a small parking lot in the rear that is free but has limited spaces, but otherwise the Q12 brings you here from Flushing as well. The restaurant is modernly renovated with a theme of purple. I came here with my friends and we shared some appetizers and entrees. The shrimp toast was my boyfriend's favorite but it was a bit weird for me with the sweet and salty combo. I liked the shrimp as it was very bouncy and the sauce, but I did not like it paired with the same toast that is usually used for French toast. Next, we ordered the salt and pepper squid which is a classic canton dinner option. Tasted just like what I thought it would taste like. Moderately fried batter with seasoning. My friend's favorite is the beef chow fun which is average and best when eaten fresh so the hor fun does not stick together. My favorite was the tomato pork chop over rice. The dish was deliciously flavored and the pork chop was perfectly cooked. As for the drinks, I'm always a cold drink kind of gal. I ordered the red bean ice, but there's a bonus scoop of ice-cream on top which made it extra creamy and yummy. I have been wanting to go back for this drink ever since! My boyfriend ordered a staple, the Hong Kong style milk tea (hot) and it was very good. My friends ordered the lemon iced tea and the milk tea coffee which were both served in to-go cups and good as well. Very cute cafe! Highly recommend! Went again today, food is always good. Love the broccoli dishes, they use a lot of garlic. Definitely order your cold drink to go, turns out the amount served in the dine in cup is not as much volume compared to the volume in the plastic to go cup. read more
It's considered pretty good compare to the many places out there that claims to be HK style foods. One thing for sure it's a cash only kind of spot so if you're planning to eat big make sure to bring some extra bills for it. I've came here several times to try out their variety of choices. The Tomato and Pork chops were moderate. A bit on the sweeter end. I would stick with their stirfry noodles or baked rice/spaghetti. Their french toast is on point. I always ask for the peanut butter with condense milk combo. If it's not on the menu. You can request it. I have to knock a star down for their Salted & Pepper Squid. OH MAN ! I'm not sure if the chef knows but the salt these days seems a lot more stronger then what it use to be and boy ...for this dish alone .. i had to down a few glasses of water just to keep my mouth from drying... Yes! That' show salty it was. I've mentioned it to the server once...but 2nd time around it came out the same way... and i get it. It does SAY SALT & PEPPER...but geez... not many places make it like that to the point where u have to use a napkin to wipe the salt off. As for the cash only part... IMO... It makes sense if it's cheap eats and affordable pricing. But if i'm forking out 50-60$ and you need cash... Seems a bit outdated where that's the reason why we use cards! I get it. Saves you on Tax and all but damn.. kind of annoying i have to goto the bank just to eat your food. All in all the spots not too bad. Would come back again. read more
I'm not sure why all the poor reviews... though they certainly don't seem to be hurting as the place was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon, with a steady stream of customers, mostly Asian which can't be a bad sign. We were recommended to eat here by family friends who live close by and come here often, esp for breakfast. We were between lunch & dinner and wanted some snacks/appetizers/dim-summy foods to tie us over so a HK style cafe seemed perfect. First of all, the milk teas are outstanding! Rich, strong, creamy and sweet (you can tailor the amount of sweetness). We all ordered it iced - I had a regular milk tea, my husband got a coffee/milk tea blend, and my dad had just a coffee, all great. The menu is extensive. We ordered: - 3 soups: BORSCHT, CREAMY CORN & CHICKEN, and CREAMY PUMPKIN SOUP to which my husband added a puff pastry top (en croute) - totally worth it as the pastry is delicious! While the soups came out piping hot and tasted good, they didn't have much "content" - i.e. the chicken & corn soup lacked chicken and the borscht was just broth. - SHRIMP TOAST. Incredible! So clean, crispy, with real shrimp, not the mush on burnt toast you get at most American-Chinese restaurants. This was my favorite item. - BEEF STIR FRIED FLAT NOODLES - also good. The smoky dry sautéed flavor is there, and the beef is tender. - STUFFED THREE TREASURES: lightly fried eggplant, green pepper, and tofu with fish paste filling. No complaints. - CREAMY SCRAMBLED EGG W/ BEEF RICE PLATE. My dad hasn't had this dish in a long time and enjoyed it. - BAKED PORTUGUESE CHICKEN - this is an entree sized item, and is a classic Portuguese/Macau fusion casserole dish (Macau having been a Portuguese colony), with chicken over spaghetti in this instance, baked in a coconut-curry sauce. Good but could be more flavorful and coconuty. The service was quick and friendly. Though note they're cash only! There are lots more appetizing menu items I'd like to try and I'm sure this would be a place my family would frequent regularly if they lived closer. read more

Simply amazing, from the grateful and caring way the staff treats you, to the food, full of flavor, nostalgia mixed with ingenuity, and wok hei. I won't compare it to HK food because I haven't been there long enough to provide and a meaningful comparison. But I can definitely say that each dish I ordered from there exceeded my expectations and this includes the 2 visits I made so far in the past month. The dishes I tried were: Shrimp Toast, Curry Fish Balls with Pork Skin, Baked Pork Chop on Rice with Tomato Sauce, Slippery Egg and Beef Hor Fun, Fried Salt Pepper Squid, and Imitation Shark Fin Soup. In addition, I tried the hot HK style Milk Tea and Red Bean Ice with Ice cream. The shrimp toast was a delight, a mix of crispy and chewy, and an added creaminess with the accompanied sauce. The baked pork chop on rice was one of the best I've had from a HK cafe spot - the creaminess of the tomatoe sauce compliments the rice and richness of the pork chops perfectly. The Fried Salt Pepper Squid was crispy, salty and a hint of spicy on the outside but melted in my mouth as soon as I took a bite. The wok hei in the Slippery Egg and Beef Hor Fun was incredible. And the imitation Shark Fin Soup was full of flavor and never lost its thick consistency. It's toward more silky and aromatic. The execution is decent and the price is fair. It also comes as a combo with your set lunch during certain business hours. Unlike other cafe that serves American milk tea and charge HK milk tea for extra, One thing that made it distinguishable is, this is the only milk tea they serve here. It shows their delicacy, passion and confidence toward their tea. I ordered a set lunch of fried fish in corn sauce over rice. The price was HK milk tea as a combo drink made it ultra valuable. The thickness of the sauce with their execution of the rice, I think made my day delightful. The ambience here is clean and tidy. Came for dinner to check the menu and it was no surprise when we order tofu fish clay pot, curry beef vegetable clay pot, fried pork chip with salt and pepper and the cubed beef with mushrooms; that all the food was so tasty, delicious, layers of flavors and the portions were very good size. The fish was very tasty and pair with the tofu is a perfect combination. The clay pot is really sizzling when served on the table. The curry beef had good pieces of tendon that have been braised and have all the delicious collagen and the currynsauce was almost sweet but again perfect. The fried pork chop, maybe could have been fried a bit less so it be more moist but it was cruncy and the mix of fried garlic with the hot peppers is very flavorful with a hint of picant on the palate. The cubed beef with king mushrooms in pepper sauce was perfection, the beef very tender and cooked just perfectly. The mushrooms alongside the beef and pepper sauce are a marriage made in heaven! I have been here three times. I brought my family here. The food is excellent, especially like the salt and pepper pork chop, salt and pepper squid, any kind of fish has been great, and the fried rice have been really delicious. The toast selections can be improved upon, for example, for the toast you have to choose either peanut butter or condensed milk or jam: it would be better if they could be flexible and allow you to choose two or three items and just add add on the price. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is nice, very comfortable and cheerful. There was parking in the back. read more
BLUF: Pricey for the quality of food served. We took some friends to 1480 HK Café on a lovely weekend day for lunch because we were interested in getting clay pot rice. However, we discovered upon arrival that the entire clay pot rice and congee menu sections were unavailable. We ordered: - Radish Beef Stew Lo Mein (蘿蔔牛腩撈麵): $14.95; $16.28 with tax. Poorly integrated. The radish was soft and tasteless, the beef tendon was hard, the noodles were overcooked, the choy sum was flavorless. The beef was soft, but the sauce on the noodles had little beef stew flavor. There seem to be two versions of this dish. Our waitress, fluent in Mandarin, struggled to explain the difference between the two options in English. - Soy Sauce Fried Noodles (豉油皇炒麵): $11.95; $13.01 with tax. They gave us lo mein (撈麵) instead of chow mein (炒麵; fried noodles). - Beef Chow Fun (干炒牛河): $13.95; $15.19 with tax. On the slightly greasier side. The dish included uncharacteristic vegetable choices -- cabbage, carrots, and onions. - Baked Portuguese Chicken (焗葡國雞): $12.95; $14.10 with tax. Unevenly flavored. The sauce didn't penetrate to the bottom of the dish, so some bites were less flavorful than others. - Hong Kong Milk Tea (港式奶茶): $4.50; $4.90 with tax. Good, but a small serving. Service is OK. They refilled our hot water cups. Some of the waitstaff speak Mandarin only. Other: Cash only. Suggested tips are based on pre-tax subtotals and start at 18%. read more
My relatives LOVE their food and HK style milk tea, while I found the dishes we ordered quite mediocre. Also beware of bad service: the servers spoke mandarin. My fam couldn't speak flawless and fluent mandarin. They looked very impatient when we ordered. They were annoyed when we asked for further details for the food. Bad service transported me straight back to HK. Not worth the long trip if you don't live in that area. The only good thing is their food was not as heavy or salty as other HK food spots. The interior is also pretty clean with restroom available. ＊ Club Sandwich 公司三文治 Fresh ingredients like tomatoes and lettuce. Very salty spam meat. Fries were bland. ＊ Chicken Fillet and Fried Egg Noodles 雞扒煎蛋出前一丁 ＊Baked Tomato Pork Chop Spaghetti 茄汁焗豬扒飯 Average. Small portion compared to Kong SIhk Tong and other HK cafes. Pork chop and chicken were tasty and skillfully pan-fried till crispy. ＊ House Special Rice Rolls 混醬腸粉 Very bland and sticky. They were quite skimpy on the sauces. I stepped upon this spot looking for breakfast 10:15am, While waiting for my car to maintenance. When I walked in, I notice they only had the breakfast combo menu on every table. The menu was simple they had three combo meal to choose from. $7.98 combo A , $8.98 combo b and $9.98 combo C, the combo menu was a-little confusing, it had options from meat to different noodles. I choose combo B the middle one, satay meat along with ramen noodles. The menu stated I was getting a soup base noodle, when the food came out, it was in a large flat plate, it was interesting looking set. Every combo came with a drink which was a plus. Over all I think, you pay what you get for, it wasn't bad but nothing special. I would only be back if I am in the area to do maintenance. I ended up paying $13 for the food and tip. read more
