Chicken and Broccoli with fried rice/ Jjam Pong
    Mei C.

Was in the area and decided to order lunch takeout. Ordered the Broccoli and chicken with fried rice, and the Jjam Pong. The set lunch dishes tasted okay - a lot like what you would get at any Chinese takeout places. There isn't much of an intense taste to any of the side dishes, dumplings were soggy by the time I got home.

I ordered a set menu with jajangmyeon and tangsu yuk and another order of jajangmyeon. The noodles in the set menu is slightly smaller, but it is a good value set with fried dumplings, salad and small banchans. The noodles were kinda sticking together, but with enough sauce you can definitely get it mixed well. The jajang sauce was thick and perfectly seasoned. There were a good amount of pork bits in the sauce too. The tangsu yuk could be better. It wasn't crispy enough and there was too much batter to meat ratio. But overall, a good solid jajangmyeon.

Been getting takeout from 2 years and we finally went to eat in. Food was yummy and service was good considering they had several large tables for lunch. Too bad they didn't have the lunch prices that day. The food portions were huge though.

Bug or something embedded in noodle

My noodle had some weird stuff in it. Either the machine was dirty or it got mixed into the batter. Some kind of bug, dirt or something else. It was in various parts of the noodle I got. Disgusting. See photo. Don't think I would eat here if I were you.

I ordered fried beef dumplings and this is what I got straight up pork dumplings I got sick as soon as I dam bit it. It was pink ass hell. I should of known something was wrong with this restaurant when they had absolutely NO DAM CUSTOMERS,,,,PERIOD DO NOT RECOMMEND

Wow I'm impressed , there should be a 6 star option because my ma fu tofu lunch was phenomenal. Not really sure where to start but everything was perfect from the price to service. They packed the food nicely and is an easy 2 meals at the least with the extra onions and kimchi. The menu is relatively easy to decipher and I guess there is plenty of parking. It doesn't matter that may have been the best thing I had in a long time.

We tried two different soups: the Signature Spicy Sour with Fish and the Vine Pepper Numbing Flavor with Fish and Beef. They were both labeled as mild spicy but man, were they spicy! I like their food because it's simple, tasty, and comes out quickly. The Khong Rou Fan is comforting and flavorful, and the Niu Rou Mian is always a good choice when you want something warm and satisfying. The string beans were a nice light appetizer to start. It's kind of a semi-service place -- you order at the counter and clean up after yourself when you're done, so there's no need to leave a tip if you dine in. The cashier who took our order is always nice, friendly, and polite, which makes the experience pleasant. The place is also always clean, which I appreciate. Overall it's a good spot when you want a quick, easy meal without a long wait.

The good- plenty of meat in Lou Rou Fan, the texture of stinky tofu, the no tipping but bus your own tray business model. Friendliness of staff behind the ordering counter. The so-so: not enough fragrance in stinky tofu, the slightly soggy/oily pork chop, and lack of fragrance in Taiwanese sausage. The somewhat expensive price( our lunch costing $56 total). Will probably revisit another time to see how other dishes taste and see what price point it will result in.

And more: cold dish - garlic cucumbers to start. Classic soup dumplings (pork filling). I usually do not order the crab meat or other varieties as those seem gimmicky. The restaurant gives you a free order of pork dumplings with dine-in purchase of $20+. This visit I did try a new noodle dish - egg noodles with crab roe. It was interesting indeed. While I've had better crab roe toppings (this one was a bit greasy//oily for me) I can see why they added it to the menu. It's been a trend. The Peking Duck and crispy skin pork are still my go to dishes when coming here. It's just not easy to make at home so I'm happy to buy it. Totally classic dishes. We also ordered the beef pancakes which is also a great sharing plate. This spot is a keeper. (I usually come by to grab take out as they have the fast casual rice plates and bbq meats right at the entrance).

The entire staff was professional and courteous, but the manager, Leo, truly stood out. He has always been warm and welcoming. Over the years, we've even had the chance to chat in our dialect, Shanghainese, on several occasions. He consistently goes out of his way to make sure guests feel well taken care of. Tonight, my husband ordered the General Tso's chicken, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, I couldn't resist ordering a little too much for myself-- fried bean gluten, mixed vegetables, pan fried udon noodles, and brine squid. As always, they sent out complimentary steamed pork soup dumplings and, to finish, two sweet fermented glutinous rice soups for dessert. I even had leftovers--udon noodles and fried bean gluten--for lunch tomorrow. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and carried a deep sense of nostalgia--the flavors truly brought me back to where I grew up in Shanghai. Needless to say, we left very happy and will definitely be back again soon.

You can taste the soybean flavor. We enjoyed it. Oyster pancake: $11.45. We enjoyed this flavorful dish. Plenty of little oysters. Fried bun with chives and egg: $4.30. Crispy outside with packed filling. Scallion pancake: $4.90 not as crispy as above. Generous portion. Family meal combo $52.00: 3 dishes , white rice and soup. We had: Pork chop Peking style: crispy deep fried pork chop coated with sweet abd sour sauce. A favorite for kids. Chunk chicken Taiwan: a casserole dish with enough heat. Very flavorful. It's a hearted heavier seasoned dish. Braided pork belly: another casserole dish with heat. Full of wok chi (wok heat). Sauce is more heavily seasoned. It's a fatty meat due to pork belly. Overall we are satisfied. It's a good quiet neighborhood restaurant which has been opened for at least 10 years. Service was good. Food service time was quick. Parking is easy in the evening. Will return. Credit card accepted if more than $30 transaction. Card and cash same price.

Got the Taiwanese pork chop rice, I appreciate that they are smaller medallions which is easy to give to my toddler but it's a bit greasy and flavorless. Interestingly enough soup dumplings are pretty good, but the fried wonton are meh. Not really a fan of the open ends, which means all the juice is already leaked out. The eggplant lunch special was pretty good but there's absolutely no meat. For a Friday where there was only 2 other tables the entire time we were there the service was crap. I thought it was bad last time I was there when it was packed but I guess it doesn't matter. I usually expect bad service at Chinese places but they didn't even give my toddler a fork which is a whole new level of bad. And of course the service is super slow, the lady that is there just can't do it all herself. My biggest gripe about this place is the Taiwanese food just isn't great.

I used to really enjoy the food, but lately the quality has declined. Some orders were extremely greasy, literally a pool of oil at the bottom, and overall it hasn't been consistent. The bigger issue has been the delivery driver. From what the owner told me, they only have one, and unfortunately he has been unpleasant every time. I hand him the cash for the order and the tip and make it clear. I say, "This is for the order, and this is your tip." Even then, he interrupts me and says things like, "You don't give me a tip. You Americans never tip. You motherf***er. F*** you," even though he literally has the tip in his hand. This has happened multiple times and the language and disrespect are completely uncalled for. I spoke to the owner, who apologized, but the problem continued. Because of this and the decline in food quality, I switched to Panda Garden just 1 to 2 blocks away. I had never tried them before, but they are a hidden gem. The food is fresh, high quality, and not greasy at all.
