Be careful what you're charged for. I was there for a birthday celebration. I opened a tab and only ordered once. When I went to close out my tab was way more then I had ordered. I asked the bartender for an itemized bill. There was drinks on there that I had not ordered. The bartenders response was that my friends had ordered under my tab. I told him I had not authorized any other drinks. I asked to speak to the manager who was rude and said I had to pay what was on my tab. Went to 151 Salon with my wife and another couple had a good time had a few drinks, but as we left we were followed by the bouncer who told us he was the bouncer manager and that I could not drive because I was drinking. As not to get into a confrontation with the bouncer because I had already heard how confrontational the bouncer are at 151, I told him fine my wife is driving. The bouncer followed us outside stood at our vehicle blocking us from leaving. SAPD was called and the bouncers were told to move out of the way so we could leave. We will not be returning to 151, sad the bouncers are messing that place up. I should have checked all the reviews about the bouncers before going there. read more

Went here on my first night in San Antonio. The place is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Super casual bar, cheap drinks, pool tables, live band (on Saturday). Cool neighborhood bar just around the corner from where my brother lives. Its a country bar in Texas with a Texas feel. Its what I was looking for when visiting the brother. We had just moved to San Antonio from downtown Norfolk, Virginia and were used to being able to go out, have a good time and walk home from the bars without having to drive. San Antonio is a bit different and we didn't think that would be possible until we found The Stockyards. We like country music but we're not big two-steppers, though you may or may not see us roaming around the dance floor anything but sober, making fools of ourselves. We went around Happy Hour time once and the place was packed...I can't remember exactly what their specials were but I remember my fiancee and I both got trashed for around $35. Even during non-HH times the prices are very good. I've never eaten at the restaurant and don't really intend to. The place gets 3 Stars because they usually have cover on weekend nights (even for chicks! wtf!) and there is usually an older crowd. They have TVs but I don't think they get any sports packages. We called them up during an NCAA Basketball Tournament game that was blacked out on our cable and they didn't have it either. The bouncing staff is bored and untrained they will kick you out if god forbid you have a condition that causes you to get dizzy briefly and take a slight step backwards. They also tried to assault a buddy of mine while trying to close his tab. Basically the security staff is what we call in the "professional" bar security world as just mindless warm bodies collecting a pay check and also will try to cite some BS TABC statute to justify their actions. Have been here a couple of times and they have been good experiences. It is a dance hall that has a big bar and a lovely patio area. This is not like those others that are crammed packed with people where it is unenjoyable. There is ample space and you are not waiting in long lines for a beverage. They also have a hige dance space with pool tables and a dj, often have a live band. They have food trucks that come so that people can buy. I like this place it is very fun and you can have big parties. They also host poker,blackjack nights during the week. read more

I'm glad that we discovered this place right near our home. Love the vibe. Country bar with live music on Friday and Saturday night, and a big ole dance floor ready for 2 stepping, line dancing, and whatever other kind of dancing you fancy. Enough seating all around, free valet parking, nightly specials, fair prices, and decent restrooms. A few things they are lacking: wine (sometimes you're just in the mood!), food (always in the mood), and draft beer (!!!!!!!!!) That one's the killer for me. Come on, now. Who doesn't love good cold draft beer more than the crowd at a bar like this. Major bummer. And limited (if any) craft beer/local beer which knocks it down 2 stars easily for this beer drinkin gal. The food is good and service average. That's all I can say about the restaurant. There's a large dance floor and two bar areas in a room next to the restaraunt itself which can make for an interesting evening. There's a pool table and a couple of dart boards that usually entertain us for awhile. The service behind the bars is borderline terrible but $3 pints and walking distance keeps me coming back. Now that I have finally came here when it was not closed, I can say this place is pretty decent. We went on a Thursday night and they had a DJ And a Beer Pong Tournament outside. The DJ played a mix of country, hip hop and line dancing as requested via text which I really enjoyed. It wasn't overly crowded and the staff were pretty on the ball. They were selling steak and fries and a few other things for $8 and people seemed to be enjoying the food though I didn't try any myself as I had eaten before I got there. They have a pool table and a dart board and a nicely sized dance floor. As far as prices for drinks go, they are pretty damn cheap. All Lonestar beers are $1.51 all day, every day - so says a sign on the wall when you walk in. read more

We were there 3 hours n no one stated anything while getting beer at bar but bartender roughly told my son he had to leave after being there 3 hours. 151 Saloon - Bars Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

This is a country bar but Wednesday is Salsa night! If you love salsa you'll know that it's tough finding a good place to dance in San Antonio. Semeneya gives a free bachata class (10:00 pm) which was actually really cool. I was expecting to be taught just the basic bachata step which is really simple, but the guy got reallly fancy with the moves. Since there is no cover to get in, the free class really is free. The dance floor is a perfect size and although there has never been a live band when I have gone, the DJ plays good music and will even take requests. I'm used to settling for Arjon's so I was pleasantly surprised the first time I went dancing at 151 Saloon. Both Wednesdays that I have been here the place has a decent crowd without being so full that you can't dance. The people that go on salsa night are really chill and friendly. What the negative reviews mention during the country nights really doesn't apply to my experiences on salsa night. I really like coming here, I just wish it wasn't on a Wednesday so I could come more often! This place is fun and if you don't know how to dance give the free class a try. read more

All in all bar staff seemed great bartender Justin kept our table clean and the drinks were not badly priced at all. I've had the unfortunate displeasure of coming to this establishment several times as it's very close to where I work. I've never taken the time to write a review, I have just generally disliked this place. Until my co-workers and I stopped by after work on a random Thursday beginning of the month. I got there just before midnight and the place was dead, maybe 25 people in the bar and that was including the people playing in the corn-hole tournament. The security was being very rude as soon as I got there, and several of them were playing corn-hole instead of working. The bartender seemed nice enough, she did however tell us she just started there. As 2am drew near we were in the process of closing out. I kid you not, right at 2:01am the security started walking around and yelling "Everyone get the Fuck Out!" Everyone who was closing out was visually annoyed as this seemed quite abrupt and uncalled for. Then what I'm assuming is either the head security guard or (I hope not) the manager got close to me and yelled at me to once again, Get The Fuck Out. I told him I was waiting on my tab but if he really wanted us to leave tell the bartenders. He just yelled at me again to Get The Fuck Out like a parrot. My friend who is a bartender told him to calm down, that we had a few minutes still. The bouncer then grabbed his drink and threw it in the trash. Then yelled at him, Not Anymore! Get the Fuck Out! That's when we all told him to fuck off, we are trying to. I am not sure how places expect to stay open when they treat what little clientele they have in the place this poorly. The security all mocked us and was very hostile as we left and kept telling them they shouldn't be treating people this way. It was bad enough for the bartender to come out and apologize to us in the parking lot, she again said she just had started here and couldn't believe how they treated everyone. Well I've made sure to tell my co-workers about this incident as we typically went there for happy hour. Not anymore. With the amount of new bars opening in the area there is absolutely no reason to go there. I know I will not be. read more

I was in town for work and came here with a co-worker to have a little fun after a long week. When the guy at the door checked my I.D. he said "California? Eeeeewwwwww! You need to go back!" and wasn't joking. I've been told many folks in Texas don't like Californians because we're moving there in droves and that's fine but don't say that rudely to a customer's face. I've had many friends tell me about 151 Saloon and how great it is but this is not my scene at all. In recently came late at night with a group of friends and by the time we got there, all the parking spots were pretty much taken up. It took us only a few seconds to park but we made it. When I entered the building it was packed wall to wall with patrons. They have a DJ and a live band that plays country music. They have a smoking area that is outdoors with different games to play. Drinks are pretty strong and there is tons of security around the area. Bartenders are super slow and seems like they have an attitude problem. Mostly a lot of couples go to dance but it's great if your going out with a group. Try to leave a little earlier as the cars drive crazy and some people are drunk. Probably won't come here again. read more

Been here many times but last night had the worst experience ever. One of the managers Cassy lost her phone and decided she would ruin everybody's night in the place making multiple announcements about a reward for her phone then watched security video and accused 3 people in my group of stealing her phone and called the cops. We were all detained for an hour and then she found her phone. Absolute BS, Cassy wouldn't even come out of the office to apologize. If you go here avoid dealing with Cassy till she gets her self fired...... Till then I won't go back. Humiliating and ridiculous and we did nothing wrong. read more

I have only even been here on Wednesday. They have bachata and salsa. Only complaints I have is that they snapped at us for playing jenga ( even though they have it in their game area to play... duh people will play it ! ) and their Kizomba game is no bueno. They not play two songs but their flyer advertises all three types of music. Otherwise their beer specials are terrible. I do get bored by like 12 with the same music over and over. I came on a Thursday, they have beer specials for the Spurs playoff game and they were also having food specials for 8$ 10oz ribeye or 1/2 rack ribs fries and a Lonstar. My friends and I ordered 4 ribeyes and a half rack ribs. All of the food was not completely delivered to us for about 45 mins from the tim we asked for medium well steaks and received really bloody steaks as well as bad service by a tall female bartender. She explained to us that "she was only a bartender"as if she should take that as an excuse. There were not any servers who seemed to be walking around the bar taking food orders and when we asked the bartender if she would take ours she said yes. The overall experience was horrible. Went to HH with the girls after work. Drink service was questionable.. I ordered the dalton and got the django (I think...). Also got the queso and chicken poppers. The queso was a bowl of melted cheddar cheese, which resulted in a solid piece of cheese and was inedible. The "chicken poppers" were actually jalapeño poppers. Poppers were super yummy just not described correctly. All in all don't get the queso and be prepared to drink the bartender's concoction. read more
