Awesome service from the hostess as soon as we walked in. Our waitress Dawn was a hoot. She was pleasant knowledgeable and just fun to be around. She made our first dining experience here very memorable. I had the smothered chicken with mashed potatoes and seasoned veggies for sides. Got the salted caramel cheesecake to go. We had mild wings half dozen oysters and shrimp tacos . All yummy Service was fast. It was about 3 on a Sunday afternoon light crowd. Pineapple patron shots $3 each for Cinco de Mayo. Wonderful meal at 16 East! The hotel recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. Service was outstanding and our meal was delicious. The garlic rolls were out of this world and since I was starving, I ate 3 of the 4. I had a salad which was really good - nice crisp romaine and lots of toppings. My husband had a burger and he said it was delicious. If were through Cordele again, we will definitely stop here. Shout out to McKenna, our server! Great job read more

It's just a few blocks from I 75, but so worth it! We stopped for dinner Friday evening and wanted something with "local color". Plenty of good choices on the menu! I had a 6 oz steak, salad with homemade dressing and sautéed mushrooms. The steak was a perfect medium. Way better than a drive thru! I would give it 6 stars if I could. I can understand people having a bad experience, but that was not true for me. The service, Kendra, was attentive and friendly. The food was simply amazing. I couldn't decide what to have as my entree, but when I saw the 16 East on the menu I had to try it. I checked with Kendra and she said it was a good choice. She was not wrong whatsoever!! I started out with a dozen raw oysters, but there was many more appetizers that I could have enjoyed. The oysters were a decent size and their cocktail sauce was very good. We really liked the food and service at 16 East. We went there on our way between Plains and Perry and were looking for place that served fish, though they have a full menu beyond fish. Hubby had the grilled shrimp and I had their house fish - both meals were very good, plentiful, hot and seasoned just right. I'm always skeptical of fried fish, but this was good, not overly breaded or greasy. Our server, Maude, was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Nice open bar area. The place was a little hard to find. Though right on the main drag, the sign is high and a little lost in all the other signs of other businesses right in that area. The family dined here the night the restaurant opened to the public and have to say it was a less than desirable experience. The overall appearance of the place was great. I will say that the chairs at the table I was sitting at was some of the most uncomfortable seating I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The design of the chair was not ergonomically friendly. We almost didn't go here due to bad yelp reviews. We were persuaded by the desk clerk at the holiday inn to give it a try. We went there and were very pleasantly surprised. There wasn't enough stomach to try all of the things that looked so delicious. I ordered a fish sandwich. Another had the baked fish entree, the other had the sandwich on special. We started with fried pickles. They were all good. The ladies across from us had baked oysters and they even brought some over for us to try when we commented how good they were. The guys next to us ordered gator bites to start. They however did not share. They did tell us they were delicious but I had no more room to verify this for myself. The cocktail sauce was great. We ordered appetizer wings to have as one our entrees and the Buffalo sauce was delicious. Haley provided great recommendations and she was right about the spice level! I wanted medium spice level for the wings and she advised us that the "mild" is their equivalent to medium. Thankfully we listened because "hot" would have been too much. Our table also ordered the filet mignon with the shrimp at an extra charge. We asked if we could get the shrimp marinated with garlic butter and Haley & the cooks did not disappoint! Tried this based on Yelp reviews. Not a lot of choices in Cordele. This place looks pretty nice on the outside, and kinda divey on the inside. I was travelling alone so I sat at the bar. I ordered the "Signature Chicken" which is a grilled chicken breast with sauteed mushrooms and spinach, smothered with provolone cheese. I had broccoli and mashed potatoes on the side. I'm a sucker for the "smothered chicken" sort of dish, and their version was very good! The service was prompt, but not particularly friendly. Some people who worked there were sitting at the other side of the bar and the bartender spent most of her time chatting with them. Had an extremely bad food experience 2 nights ago at this restaurant. I'm giving it a one only because you can't post zero or less here. I ordered the french onion soup, and prime rib sandwich. They were out of the sandwich, so changed to petite steak, which turned out to be steak tips. Soup came, and something just wasn't right about it. It had a sour, bitter flavor, like it had been burnt and couldn't pin down the sourness. I only ate about a third at most. When the meal came out, I had one bite of steak, and two of the mac n' cheese, when suddenly I vomited in my mouth. Was about to run to the rest room, when I vomited again, into my hands, and dropped it only my plate. Starting sweating and shaking. Called bartender over, she was apologetic and took plate away. Got a glass of water, and she comped the meal and the second glass of wine I'd ordered. However, she insisted I pay for the first glass of wine, and I was in such a state, I just paid, despite the fact that the first glass was part of the vomit. Suggested she tell the manager the soup was off, but she never called the manager over, and since I was so sick, I just left. Never again, NEVER. read more

What a waste of $30. Went there for early supper, 5:30 on Saturday night. Place was not real busy. Ordered appetizer of fried green tomatoes and our entrees at the same time. Got our saldes out fast, that was good but then it went down from there. When our entrees came, asked about the appetizer and also told server my food was not warm. He offered to have it put in the microwave and I passed. At this time I told the server that we no longer wanted the appetizer which still had not been brought to the table. Just driving through on road trip & was hoping to find a place with real food. This place fit the bill and more. Our server Donna was very friendly and the restaurant itself was an interesting building with nice design and furnishings I had a whitefish fillet/ excellent flavor with a cooked cabbage side that was amazing.
