We enjoyed our experience here on a Friday night. At around 7:30, there was a DJ who was playing tunes and it was very loud. The food was good, we got 2 quesadillas and 2 taco meals, one beef and one mahi. It was good portion sizes. The service was also good and the food came very fast. We got dessert, bread pudding and chocolate cake which were amazing. All together for 4 meals and 2 desserts it was $148. This did seem steep for 2 quesadillas and 6 tacos. We stopped here after we checked in and settled into our room. We had food and beverage credits to use and this was the only available outlet to use the credits besides room service. We still had to eat dinner but this place but packed. There was a college football game on so it was obnoxious because it more of a watch party than a bar & restaurant. We found a dirty table to sit at but no staff were walking by so we decided to order at the bar and step outside on the patio, since there were only 2 people out there. It took a while for the bartender to approach us but it was at least 2 deep even at the bar. I ordered an extra dirty martini with Ketel One and hubs ordered a beer. The bartender asked if I wanted bleu cheese stuffed olives, to which I definitely accepted! We used our credits just on those two drinks so we decided that would be it. The outdoor seating area was nice. You could also smoke, which would have been perfect if we still smoked. The outdoor seating area was open and you could also walk to the pool. We did not see any servers outside though. We decided to find food outside of the hotel and when we came back, the bar area was still very much packed with customers. I figured they were already closed but attempted to order one drink before we headed up for the night. I believe it was a manager that approached us and when I inquired about ordering a drink, he very rudely snapped and said they were closed. Very surprising behavior coming from a manager. Many places would offer a beer or glass of wine since they were still cleaning up. We didn't even make an attempt the following day. read more

Starbucks by day (6AM - 12PM) kareoke & DJ at night, and a substantial "all day menu" from 2PM-11PM. We did not experience the late night music, BUT in addition to your morning caffeine or Teavana hit, it's a good place for a late lunch; soups, sandwiches, some tapas. Our party ordered the chicken noodle soup, chicken wings, and the Cuban sandwich. All were satisfying and delivered by a very nice waiter who was very attentive . Just want to mention the lobby bar and restaurant called 1601. The food is typical hotel food nothing special. I ordered as my 1st thing Chicken Noodle Soup. The soup contained a lot of carrots and celery and 6 very small pieces of chicken smaller than a thumb nail and NO NOODLES. read more

Sign said no playing cards while in restaurant/bar area but people were allowed to sit for hours with their computer. Not sure why you can't have a cocktail and play cards. Eventually someone else brought us menus, and after waiting 15 minutes for someone to come take our order we just walked out. I don't have any complaints of the bar, I came mid day between breakfast and lunch and had great service from the bar. All of my drinks were good, the beef empanadas had a lot of meat but not much else in them. I'm a bit of a foodie so I wanted more flavor than beef. They were still decent though. read more

We had dinner here after day of traveling. It was conveniently located in our hotel. We both ordered ribeye. Unfortunately a quarter of each of our steaks were fat. Steaks were $48 each and barely worth a third of that. Husband still hungry when done. read more

We were staying in the Hilton Miami Downtown pre-cruise and almost didn't go to the 1601 lounge due to poor reviews. However, after a long day of travel I'm glad I didn't have the energy to go anywhere else! 1601 was fantastic! We went with zero expectations and we're pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Alex was on point and attentive! We had the beef empanadas, Miami churrasco, and the fudge brownie for dessert the food was so delicious! Stayed at the Hilton downtown Miami as I was seeing 2 clients both located in downtown. It was rainy night so I decided to stay and eat at the hotel. 1601 is the bar/lounge in the hotel. Very limited menu. Had 2 appetizers as my dinner, chicken wings and chicken potstickers. The chicken wings were so small it was humorous. 6 came to an order. The potstickers, 6 to an order and 3 were steamed and 3 were fried. Came with 3 sauces. I did not like the fried ones, some ingredient, maybe Tumeric was in there and I did not like it. The steamed ones were ok. The 2 items with an iced tea, plus added 18% gratuity came to over $36. Total waste. read more

I was excited for this spot as it's close to home and their happy hour seemed like a great deal! We went first on a Thursday which i guess is Bahamian special night. Only things on the happy hour menu were Bahamian inspired cocktails, beers and food. We are wine drinkers so were disappointed no wine on happy hour on Thursdays. We asked the waitress what it was like the rest of the week and she said same time happy hour but it's a regular happy hour menu. Including wine. Yay! So we tried again the following Wednesday. Much to our dismay we found that the happy hour time is one hour shorter then on Thursday. So we could not take advantage of the specials. The price is a bit of a difference as their regular menu prices are kind of high. I am giving at least the 3 stars as i do like the ambiance and set up of the lounge. Conch fritters were surprisingly good! The margherita pizza was definitely like a cheap one you'd buy from the frozen section so def do not order it. They have no right to throw basil on top to call it margherita! The veggie lettuce wraps are super bland and literally there is maybe 1/4 cup of tofu total. Calamari is super greasy. Service was ok at 9pm Sunday; our waitress was more involved in her cell phone than customers. read more

You will notice Elsa, she will make all efforts to make it a pleasurable breakfast experience, very friendly and makes you wanna come again!! We were staying at the Hilton pre cruise. Since it was raining out we went to the 1601. We ordered drinks and appetizers before dinner. Our drinks came but not the appetizers. After about 15 minutes we had to go up to the bar and ask where they were since our waiter was now helping the bartender. About 5 minutes they came. We sat there and asked a lady who was bussing tables for our waiter so we could order dinner. Another 10 to 15 minutes later he came out and took the order but told us it would be at least 45 minutes. The place was half full. We told him to get our check. Paid it and went upstairs and wanted to order room service. The menus and ordering is usually done on line but we kept getting thrown off the room service on line. I called room service but they told be they could not take my order. They could only take it on line. Mind you I am a Diamond Hilton member. Never again will I stay at the Miami downtown Hilton nor would I go to the 1601 Lounge. read more

It was a very pleasant experience. Emilio was our waiter and he was amazing! I put a plate I was done with and 10 seconds later he was clearing it! He was amazing making the service great! The other staff was excellent as well! They were really on top of everything which made it an easy relaxing experience. Also the food was good! They had a little of everything which was really nice!
