We were in Miami for NYE and decided to have early dinner at Lolo's surf cantina as it was the nearest restaurant located outside the Nikki beach. The restaurant is hard to find as it is located inside the Stanton hotel. We ordered Guacamole and nachos, Chicken bowl, shrimp bowl and Churros. The food was absolutely delicious but the portion sizes were small. The food is absolutely delicious here. I am rating it 3 stars cause of the few red flags we noticed and experienced at this place. Firstly, our server asked us if we wanted to start off with Guacamole and nachos without handing us the menu. We immediately said yes instinctively later to realize that it was the costliest dish amongst small plates. It was $17. Secondly, the server also asked us if we wanted bottled water or sparkling water to which we asked for bottled water. They charged us $10 for water alone. Thirdly, the bill already included 18% gratuity still the server politely asked to tip us on top of it and we tipped too under pressure. Overall not a good experience for our family.

Located at the Stanton Hotel, for convenience sake we chose Lolo's Cantina as our early dinner on this BOGO 1/2 of Taco Tuesday. Birria's were delicious, but the accompanying consommé unfortunately had no depth. So we did without the obligatory dipping. The Veggie Tacos were a hit, with a combo of veggies and added tasty components. There was one other taco that was also good. I think it was the Carnitas that were clearly marinated at length and seemed to have been stewed all day. It had flavors that reminded me of something I would've made at home. Service was great and interior ambience colorful. Lolo's Cantina served its purpose for a quick and filling bite to eat.

    Inside ... so cute!

Service is great. Stopped on before 8 am & no wait. Foods: Huevos Rancheros: awesome! Comes w a lil salad and tater tots, yummy sauce. Chilaquiles-Spicy: very saucy. Really cute ambiance inside. Everyone was so nice, checked on us many times, but not too much. Drinks were never empty.

The food here is great. The chips and salsa are homemade and so tasty. Chicken flautas very flavorful and the spicy shrimp tostada was phenomenal with fresh shrimp and perfectly seasoned guacamole. We went for hh and the menu has drinks and food for $5- great deal! The margs weren't that good, seemed watery and had to ask for salt/tajin on the rim. Also the servers were NOT friendly at all like very weird vibes from them. It's a cute place with an outdoor patio out back which is where we sat. Don't think I would return as there are many other good Mexican food restaurants in the area with similar vibes and better service.

I had a great experience here from the food to the service and the decor everything was great. We came for lunch after the beach and we're seated quickly. Our server was very attentive. We had the salsa and chips esquites and the crab birria tacos. I was obsessed with the corn and the crab tacos were delicious. Perfect place to go after the beach or grab to go

So much variety and everything we had was delicious. If you are a Marriott guest or sitting on the beach in the Marriott Stanton space, you can get food and drinks ordered to your chairs. They have vegetarian, breakfast, and small eats. Also EVERYONE we encountered was very cheerful and courteous!

During my visit to the beach, Came in around 3pm and realized the $5 specials are from 4-7pm, so I kept it simple. Got chips and guac with sparkling water. The guac was nice and fresh. The bartender from Michigan was awesome, friendly, easy to talk to, and great with recommendations. I'll definitely come back, but next time I'm sitting at the bar during the specials.

    $6 for this salsa.

Terrible food. Terrible happy hour. They charge $2 for tiny salsa. Tacos lacked taste and flavor. They charge and arm and a leg for chips and salsa. What did I expect...beachside Mexican food at its worst.

Came here for dinner recently & the food & service was great! I got the chicken quesadilla & it was very flavorful! The restaurant itself has cool decor & is inviting. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Miami.

Lolo's Surf Cantina is located within the hotel, and my family enjoyed a nice late lunch here. We started with guacamole and chips. I had a refreshing Guava Brava, made with tequila, guava juice, coconut nectar, lime juice and jalapeno, while my hubby opted for the Margarita de la Casa. For our meals, I had the Red Quinoa and green salad of mix greens, jicama, black beans, carrots, corn, pumpkin seeds with crema Mexicana chipotle ranch dressing, my hubby enjoyed the carne asada of prime NY strip with grilled scallions, chili, avocado, cilantro & tortillas, and our daughter chose the Mexican street tacos. We finished with dessert, sharing the yummy Lolos Churros with cinnamon sugar, dulce de leche & strawberries.

Lolo's Miami is an absolute vibe--fresh, flavorful food, great drinks, and a gorgeous patio all just a short walk from the beach. Whether you're coming for a laid-back lunch or a fun dinner with friends, this spot delivers on every level. What I Loved: Avocado Tacos - So fresh and perfectly seasoned! Light but satisfying with great texture. Veggie Tacos - Packed with flavor and honestly some of the best I've had--hearty, colorful, and balanced. Caramel Flan & Churros - Do not skip dessert! The flan is silky and rich, while the churros are crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfect for sharing. Drinks - My cocktail was spot-on, and my friends were raving about their margaritas--strong, citrusy, and refreshing. The Vibe: The patio is beautiful--relaxed and breezy with a tropical touch that makes you feel like you're on vacation, even if you're just stopping by after the beach. It's got that effortless Miami energy that makes you want to stay a little longer. If you're looking for great tacos, killer drinks, and a beachy-chic atmosphere, Lolo's is a must. I'll absolutely be coming back for more tacos, margaritas, and of course, that flan!

Such a cute place. I had two meals here; French toast for breakfast (one of the best I've ever had!) crunchy on the outside and sweet and soft on the inside. Birria tacos and elote corn was delicious. Service is great, extra friendly and accommodating. Would love to come back here!!

I looked over at the rest of my party and told them that we had to eat there. We made our way to the host and ask for seating inside... well, I was wearing a ball cap, so I wasn't allowed to dine inside, but the roadside seating was offered... hey, I understand rules of apparel, but when you are appealing to "World Cup" fans... you could do worse than someone wearing just a ball cap. I understand that rules are rules, so I was satisfied with where we were seated at... besides, I was excited with the great smells that were emanating from inside of the restaurant. As I began to look at the menu, I will admit that I was a little shocked with the prices of the cuisine, but I got to thinking that this could be a high end joint, I was ok with it. I was financially prepared. A female server came over to our table and asked to take our drink order. I guess I must have offended her when she offered to serve us Aqua Panna water in the liter bottle for $12.00 a bottle, and my response was that my country raising refused to let me pay $12.00 a bottle for water, especially when you can order a case of it off of Amazon for $36.00 for a case of twelve bottles. I decided that I would settle for a good old southern staple of "sweet tea" to drink, which was seconded by another person in my group, while the third person decided to have a Sprite. Our server left us to go and fill our drink order and finally made her way back to us after about 15 minutes of being gone to advise us, that the "bar" informed her that they no longer had any sweet tea for the night. The time was 9:30pm and they were open for business till 12:00am, so I was a bit set back by this, but I wanted a steak. I ended up ordering a plain old tap water to drink because, well, I was not going to pay $12 for a bottle of water... I was not dying of thirst yet. So we ended up getting a lemonade brought to the table, a glass of water, and an eight ounce glass bottle of Sprite, at $5.00 a bottle. We got our drinks, so now let's talk about our food. I ordered a 14 ounce New York Strip steak, medium well... I'm getting older and don't digest uncooked food so well anymore, sadly. The rest of my party ordered the filet mignon medium rare, and the third finished off with the chicken parm plate. Our sides that we ordered were roasted brussel sprouts, and a loaded baked potato without chives. Now comes the good part... if you are still here, you are going to find out if they can cook a good steak or not... Well, we got our food after another lengthy wait. Now let me tell you, the guy who brought our food gave me one of the most beautiful cuts of steak that I think I have ever seen. It was definitely a New York Strip. I could already tell from the juices running in my plate that my steak was definitely undercooked. I looked over at my party's food and see the chicken parm, and I'm telling it looked and smelled great. The filet mignon smelled great but it appeared to be over cooked. From what I could tell, it looked like the cook got the order backwards. We cut into the respective steaks and my suspicion was right, the Filet Mignon was over cooked and the New York Strip was way undercooked. At this time, it is getting late. It is after 10pm and I had just finished a six hundred mile drive, I would have eaten my shoe if it was served right. I cut into my steak and began eating it. There was no flavor on the meat at all, I guess they don't use seasoning, other than the grilled garlic clove, that is to be used when eating the steak. I did get to taste the filet mignon, and it had way more flavor thank New York Strip. Sadly, I must have drawn the short straw on this meal. I was hungry and I was refusing to let a $70 steak go to waste, so I ate the entire cut of this steak. To bring this to a close I want to address the billing. They added a service charge to the receipt, which is something I have been used to if there was a large party, but for them to serve three people, I felt we should have been the once's to decide on the amount of the tip we leave our serve. This is to keep the server honest and make sure they take of the customer. The odd thing is I usually tip over 20 percent because I have family who are part of hospitality business. They make their living on tips. This night it didn't total up to what normally give... I was not inclined to give it either. I understand the goal is to make money, but I am a believer in taking care of your customer...Maybe it was the way I was dressed, or how I sounded with my southern draw, I feel like this restaurant really misread me and my group
