Neighbourhood pub. Dark inside. Main part is Upstairs. Has a very small patio upstairs. Server was pleasant. Clam chowder was good and New England style. The wrap was small for the price, I was a little disappointed. They have a number of beers on tap. The salad was good. Cozy.

Looking for huge servings, decent prices and a casual atmosphere? Smugglers is the place for you. I was quite hungry so I ordered the nachos. I expected the serving to be large but it was closer to humongous. I have a large appetite but I was only able to finish half of the serving. The peppers and veggies on the nachos were fresh and there were lots of them. The cheese was liberal, but it could have been spread around a bit more. The edges were bare, the inside was 1/2 inch thick in cheese.

Autumn light through stained glass - yes!

Years ago I was a Friday regular here. Came for the veggie burger before catching an afternoon movie at Cinecenta. I'm happy to report the veggie burger is still on the menu! (And still just as good.) Best pub near UVic IMO.

Made a reservation but didn't need it. A bustling pub with good pub food and a nice choice of beers. Worth a visit.

I enjoyed my cod and chips. The mac and cheese was enjoyed by my kids. Be warned - a cheese pizza is just cheese on crust so its really heavy. Ambience wise it has an old atmosphere feel and the staff was great.

I was honestly shocked by how good the food was. I had initially assumed it might be a spot primarily for tourists, but a dear friend of mine who is a local mentioned that people in Victoria actually love coming here. She even noted that some friends from her children's school were there just the night before for an alumni weekend. The menu absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by the fish and chips; the fish was moist with a light batter and wasn't oily at all. The burgers, Irish stew, and shepherd's pie were all delectable as well. The real standout, however, was the sockeye salmon in a pesto preserved lemon broth--it was so addictive that I wish I could replicate the recipe at home. It is very easy to see why this spot has received so many accolades, and I would love to return the next time we are back in Victoria!

The bun was incredibly fresh, light, and pillowy, while the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the perfect balance of richness and tang from the kimchi. The pickled vegetables added a bright crunch that tasted incredibly fresh. We started with the salmon tartare, and it was phenomenal! Rich, buttery, bursting with flavor, and so good we were literally fighting over the last bite. And the scallop? Order one for each person. Seriously. It's far too delicious to share. It had just the right amount of heat, leaving the perfect lingering warmth that immediately made us want another. Do yourself a favor and give yourself enough time to work your way through the menu, because every dish we tried was outstanding. Each plate was thoughtfully curated, beautifully executed, and cooked to perfection. I like to call it the C³ trifecta: curated, created, and cooked. Without question, this is some of the best food we've had in a very long time. We can't wait to come back (when visiting) and continue eating our way through the rest of the menu.

Ambiance was great - super warm and welcoming which was magnified by the host. Super lovely. Then the wait staff. Whoever is hiring/training is doing a great job! Not drinking right now but the cocktail menu was super tempting. Every menu item sounded great. We got some help on ordering from our servers and Tanya picked ones she had enjoyed before. We also sat right beside the pick up window so it was fun seeing food come out! The food was fantastic. See pictures for what we ordered. Not sure if I can remember the names of everything but it was a perfect combo!!
