So I got a $85 voucher to go eat at 18 Steak because of a poor customer service and food quality issue at Stadium Sports Bar located on the same premises. I was excited to indulge in my first upscale steakhouse meal..... and then this happened. My DW and I arrived for a 7:30 pm reservation, we were promptly seated at the table right by the entrance to the kitchen.... the place was less than half full. We waited at least 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server. The server proceeded to remove everything from the table but the tablecloth and salt and pepper. He brought us water and told us that the complimentary bread was still in the oven.... they had been open for 2 hours at this point. He gave us our menu and walked away. We waited another 10-15 minutes, when he came back he asked if we wanted to start with an appetizer. We declined because at this point we were so hungry that we wanted to move on to main courses, and we had so much time to study the menu. We ordered a 10oz filet with potatoes, and also the scallops. The food came out in about 15 minutes, and finally the bread arrives also. The steak was over cooked (ordered MW and came W). Scallops were cooked perfectly, but I question the quantity for the price ($35 for 4). We did not see our server to complain about the steak, and we ended up just going ahead and eating the W steak. At no point were we offered a cocktail or beer. After a few more minutes we were offered desert, and we declined. We received the bill and paid and left. The seating just out the door from the kitchen was the worst, I can't even count how many times I was brushed or bumped as the servers past by. Overall... we won't be going back. At these prices we expect better service than a Denny's, but that's not what we got. read more

Let's start off by saying that this restaurant is expertly decorated. I absolutely love it, especially the booths! The service is amazing. Our waiter was great and so was his sidekick. I believe their names were Chris and Kyle. We had a trio appetizer of sautéed crab fingers, crab cake, and ravigote. The crab cake was delicious. It only came with 3 crab fingers and maybe a tablespoon of ravigote, so kinda a rip off. I would just order the crab cake next time. The BBQ shrimp appetizer was just alright. I probably wouldn't order it again. The filet was great and the bernaise was amazing. I had the Parmesan scallops. They were perfectly cooked? But needed a little more seasoning in my opinion. The sweet potato gnocchi was okay as well. Not the best gnocchi I've ever had. The creamed spinach was strange. I'm not a fan of having an egg in it...gave it a weird flavor. For 18 steak to be a high class restaurant the customer service that my husband and I received there was lacking and doesn't compare to y competitors. Making the reservations on open table was a breeze but I didn't like that my special note wasn't acknowledged. I had to ask the hostess if she seen my special note. She advised me that somehow it got deleted and what was it . At this point I had to advise her in front of my husband that we're celebrating his birthday. There goes the surprise is what I was thinking. I would suggest to have a human touch to their reservations by calling to confirm versus having technology confirm for you . This way the consumer will know exactly what to expect when they enter the restaurant and it sets the tone for their experience. Ruth Chris is exceptional in this aspect!!! They greet you and tell you happy birthday as soon as you arrive by the hosts and your server. After that fiasco our night got worse!! My husband and I sat down in a half empty restaurant filled with waitstaff for over 15 minutes before we were ever greeted by someone. As a matter of fact I had to say something in order for us to get waited on. When our server did arrive to our dismay this was the same server we seen pass us several times and have a full conversation with another patron across from us who was obviously leaving. I understand that you want to provide everyone with good customer service but some type of acknowledgement would have been great . I will admit that he apologized and tried to make it right but at this point the damage was done. There's a certain type of ambience that you expect as a consumer when you spend a certain amount and we just didn't get that . To top matters off it took a long time to get our entrees and the restaurant was half empty. My husband and I looked around and we noticed that no one around us had their food. I know that's not the servers fought but it just added on to the horrible experience that we received. When our food did arrive my steak was cooked to perfection at medium plus but my husband steak had to be returned. If the night couldn't get any better!! The server made sure to get the steak back quickly to my husband. The highlight of our night was the dessert that my husband received for his birthday. I believe that's sad for me to say when I spent over $200 for a great experience and the service that I received at your was less than stellar. read more

My boyfriend and I are staying at the l'auberge hotel and made a reservation on open table for 9:00pm. We got to the restaurant around 9:10pm and are asked if we made a reservation. When we told the woman our name, she called over the manager. I overheard the woman telling the manager that the people who sat before us said they were under this reservation. The manager then proceeded to tell us that our reservation was a quarter of an hour ago and due to the fact that they are extremely busy and close at 9:00 they are unable to seat us. I've worked at many restaurants before and this is absolutely unacceptable. If you close at 9:00 and are extremely booked than why are you accepting reservations at this time? Clearly our reservation was taken and instead of accommodating us we were made to feel unwelcome! I will never come back or recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Saturday was my first experience here. My boyfriend chose this place to celebrate Valentine's Day early since he has to work. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. We started with a drink (him a bloody mary and me a strawberry field martini), both were delicious. They started us with bread...which was amazing. Some of the best bread I've ever had tbh. We chose Natchitoches meat pies as an appetizer....very good. Then we moved on to a salad; presentation was nice. They serve a half of a head of lettuce dressed up. For dinner we both chose steak. I chose the 7oz center cut filet, medium. He chose the prime dry aged tbone, medium rare. For sides, he chose the loaded "18" baker and I chose the lobster mac and cheese. His steak arrived perfectly as ordered. My steak was over cooked to well done and quite tough for a filet. I don't like to send food back but in hindsight, I should've spoke up. His loaded potato was huge and tasty but slightly undercooked. My lobster mac was very delicious but seemed to be missing the lobster ( I only found a few teeny tiny slivers of lobster in the dish). Prior to the steaks being served, the waiter presents a box of steak knives for your choosing. Both of our steak knives were dull and hard to cut the steaks with. They definitely need to be sharpened for future customers. Overall, it was an okay experience. But for the price, we decided we wouldn't go back. We would rather opt for other steakhouses with similar pricing. read more

The restaurant looks nice, with great plush booths, but none of the items we ordered were very good. Foie gras was cooked hard, not seared and melty as it should be, the ribeye was a strange color and flavorless, salad was overdressed with burnt bacon, and the onion soup was a thick cheese soup, not a rich broth. The service was good, but that just can't really help the surprisingly bad cooking. Unfortunately, this was probably the first bad meal we've had in a Baton Rouge restaurant in several years. Also, I realize this is located in a casino, but if it is a fine dining establishment, why seat couples in t-shirts and baseball caps in the main dining room amid tables that are celebrating and dressed up as they should be for this venue? My wife and I went for our 18th wedding anv.on 12/15/2018. Our bill was close to 300.00 which was fine. But, the service was not up to the same 300.00 level, our server Tony not only took his time greeting us (7:15pm res) it took 25 min for our appetizer to arrive and it was cold when it did also, I had to acquire table settings from another table to eat the appetizer with. No sign of my server. My wife and I both ordered the Australian steak which was ok after I cut a half inch of tendon off the end. My bake potato was warm and not fully cooked which Tony did remove from the bill. The food was ok , what we were disappointed with most was the service. When the person that took my res. asked me if it was a special night I said yes, it was our 18th , no mention of our anv. by our server Tony. Even when we go to Outback the service is great and the steak is good, my daughter had a birthday at Sullivan's this past month her and five of her friends (Bill under 200.00) great service, great food she had a wonderful time. We will back!!! 18 Steak no we will not be back, going to Doe's again. I was so disappointed with this restaurant for a second time! I am only giving it two stars in lieu of one because the flavor and seasoning in the meat was good. The problem was the food took over 1 hour to come out, when it did arrive the steaks were cold. Now. Y cold I mean I paid extra for marrow butter and the butter did not even melt a little. My husbands steak was the same way and his side, a potato, was cold and not fully cooked. Also, he wanted the steak in a Pittsburgh style, they brought it out and we brought it to their attention, they took it back and brought it again still cold and not blackened. The meal was comped which I do appreciate but this is the second time of bad experiences here. I just do not understand how a restaurant can work and succeed when service is of this caliber. read more

This was my wife and my's first time visiting and it won't be our last. The hostess greeted us as soon as we arrived, seated us immediately and let us know who our waitress would be. We were barely seated when Alex walked up and greeted us. She gave a great drink recommendation for my wife (dark and stormy) and I had a jack Daniels single barrel whiskey which came right away. The bread came out as soon as we received our drinks (Phenomenal) and was back to see if we had any questions about the menu. We asked for recommendations we ended up getting soups to start. the corn and crab bisque and the five onion soup which is sort of a French onion soup but minus the amount of cheese you Normally would get with French onion soup both were great! For our entrées my wife decided on the prime rib, which was giant. I had never seen one so thick it was a good inch to inch and a half thick it had a great smoked flavor and was cooked perfectly medium to my wife's liking. I ordered the bone in cowboy ribeye medium rare; it was absolute perfection,quite possibly the best steak I have ever had, definitely in the top two. I also ordered the BBQ shrimp which were different because it's a heavy Worcestershire based sauce. very rich but it worked well and was delicious as well as the garlic mashed potatoes, which were also great. The Entrées were definitely the star of our meal but our service was just as great. Alex was attentive and fun and made wonderful suggestions. If you make reservations,request Alex as your waitress, she was amazing. read more

We chose 18 steak to dine at as a group celebrating graduation/new jobs. Our server and server assistant (I guess that's what he was) didn't seem to have very much smooth communication going on throughout the dinner. It was strange because we weren't really sure who to ask for what. anyways it started off on a bad foot as one of us knocked over water with a menu by accident, that ended up spilling on someones lap. Not just 1 but 3 servers/server assistants walked by, looked at us & the girl standing up, and not one stopped. A minute went by before we were able to get someone to stop to help. might I add, this may have been excusable if they were busy but the dining room was not full because we were eating a later dinner. Then as they changed the table cloth, we were asked to hold everything in our laps... some bread plates, knives and forks were taken off the table by the server assistant and not replaced so we ended up with missing utensils and linens for our first course. Had to ask twice to get these replaced. Three of us ordered filets cooked to varying temperatures. Come to find out half way through that they accidentally switched our steaks. We only realized this after I made a comment to the table about the temperature of my steak & we put two and two together that they were switched. this would not have been a big deal but our steaks were complete opposite temps. He offered to recook the steaks but at this point, everyone else was almost done eating and it would have been useless. Very disappointing considering this is the main attraction for this restaurant!! maybe had he checked on us sooner, we would have been able to realize our steaks were different from the beginning. So we got to choose two desserts on the house, which were good. The drinks were nothing special. I always expect my drinks to be overly sweet at restaurants. Got what I expected All in all, the experience was subpar and the lack of attention to the small details was disappointing... I kept thinking wow if I was somewhere else spending this much money on food and service, these small issues would have not happened or would have been resolved sooner due to attentive service. read more

If you're looking for a cool bar to start the night, and you're getting drinks only....your in the right place....The food is good to those who don't get out much, and have never been to a Morton's or a Sullivan's....real quality Steakhouses. Not the first time my experience here was disappointing. We came after the Jay Leno Comedy show, so you would think the restaurant would have staffed appropriately. It took almost 10 minutes for someone event to arrive to our table to greet us. Then another 10 minutes just to get our drink orders in. Food was mediocre at best. One person in our party ordered a Filet Medium Rare and it arrived to our table a nice Well done! This is a steak restaurant, and I would have hoped that they could get that part right. We have eaten here twice. It is a shame the service and food is so poor, because it is a beautiful restaurant. We found the filet to be fair and the trout almandine had no almonds and was put on a huge square plate which was overkill and dwarfed the three fingerling potato SLICES that accompanied the fish. On Dec 5th my husband and I planned a dinner at 18 Steak before the Aaron Neville concert. So disappointed. We had an hour and fifteen minutes to eat. We got our drinks and appetizer but our food never showed up. No explanation. No attention from waiter. We had to pay for drinks and leave hungry. Atmosphere, view and decor are top-notch. Unfortunately, the food is not even average. For a steakhouse that allegedly serves prime steaks, the steak had a somewhat bland taste that certainly didn't taste like prime beef. I ordered the filet mignon med-rare. The cut served to me was cut unevenly so that one side was thinner than the other. One side was well done with no hint of pink, and the other side was still over-cooked but still had some pink. The potato was cold. Coffee took over 15 minutes to arrive; dessert came even later. The creme brulee was sub-par, too, but the main disappointment was the steak. If a steakhouse can't cut or cook steak properly, there is a huge problem. Dinner was on a Wednesday night. read more

Appetizers were great! The flash fried oysters were my favorite part about our meal. We ordered the small cheese board and were fairly unimpressed with the selections. We had ordered the tartar, but it never made it to our table. My dad and I both ordered the Cowboy Ribeyes- medium rare, and the steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare. However, when we got them, they were room temp. We're both big steak eaters and know that medium rare steaks do cool pretty quickly, but when they get to the table they should be at least warm still from the fire. Dad ordered the chocolate selection, and it was out of this world! I on the other hand ordered the creme brulee, which was a selection of three different flavors. We arrived around 8:15 and was told that the wait would be about an hour. No big deal b/c we didn't have reservations and it was Friday so, my wife and I decided to play a few slots, walk around and chill on the deck. After the hour wait we went back to check in only to be told it would be an additional 10 minutes which turned into 30. Once seated we placed our order within 10 minutes, we decided not to order an appetizer b/c we were looking forward to our steak. An hour after our order was placed we still had not received our food. Only after complaints to our waiter did we receive our room temperature Ribeye and filet. I was under the impression since this is a 5 star restaurant we would receive quality food and service. The Resturant appears to be understaffed and employees undertrained. I think a visit to higher end restaurants (ex. Ruth Chris) would be an asset to your Resturant and will create a better experience for customers. read more

This is a lower end restaurant. The food was not all that great. The service was not up to par. No one cleaned the table between courses. Our server had the gift of gab but not in a good way. He talked to much when at the table and checked on us very little. It took 30 minutes before our server brought my glass of wine prior to even bringing water to our 4-top. Then another 20 before he came back to take our order. He then preceded to take our appetizer order as well as our main course. Our app came out and took a little while before our entree considering he already had our entree order. 2/4 filets were cooked to the wrong temperature. No one came to the table to check if they were prepared to the right temperature. I also had request a steak knife since no one cleared or crumbed the table between courses. All I could do was laugh as I was chewing and my plate was being taken from me while I was still attempting to enjoy my over cooked steak. The waiter then tells the table since it took so long for my drink he gave us a dessert on the house... And finally crumbed the table. I would not recommend this steak house. read more
