Came here for dinner on a whim, and couldn't believe what I have been missing out on. Having lived in Houston previously, where there were many great Greek and Mediterranean fares, this restaurant surpassed them all. The portions were perfect, the flavors all blended nicely, with nothing too salty, too bland, or overpowering other flavors in the dish. Their hummus and pita are all made fresh in house, and a must try for appetizer. I then ordered the rice, chicken and lemon soup bowl along with the politika meatballs. The soup is best described as slurping down comfort food. The meatballs were a blend of beef and lamb, which helped to bring down the bold flavor of lamb, and allowed all the flavors of the saganaki tomato sauce to complement. All of that still some left room for desserts. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. They all looked good. I went with this custard filled filo that was drizzled with honey. It's baked to order, so it was fresh, warm, crispy flakes of filo, and sweetened with honey and a hint of orange zest. Best Greek in town! These folk know how to properly cook meat and maintain its maximum juiciness and flavor! And they are so warm and genuine. I felt like I was back in the 80s at the bar Cheers. The regulars have been gate keeping but their secret is out now. One of their bartenders--Logan--was exceptional! Logan made me the best paper plan that I've ever had. Such a charming spot to share a meal with loved ones! Tucked away on Essen, right by Ichiban and Sambath's, this place feels like hidden gem! The space is clean, welcoming, and service was attentive throughout my visit. The saganaki was quite a show! Watching the flamed cheese arrive at the table was very entertaining. While the exterior wasn't as crisp and the interior not as gooey as we'd hoped, it was still a fun and tasty appetizer. Honestly, everything from the service to the food was amazing. This was my first time eating at a Greek restaurant and it did not disappoint. The drinks were refreshing, the food was very good to say it was my first time eating this kind of food. My waitress was very friendly and made sure my friend and I had everything we need. We had a large group and we were seated in about 15 mins. We ordered all the appetizers on the menu and it was all great. This has become our team's favorite place to eat in Baton Rouge. Zorba's Greek Bistro is a really good restaurant. This was my first time experiencing greek cuisine and it wasn't bad at all. It was definitely different in flavors; however, all of the items that my co-workers and I ordered were amazing and delicious. If it's your first time coming to Zorba's Greek Bistro, as an appetizer, you should order the Sweet Potato hummus with glazed honey, Politika Meatballs and Spanakopita. These appetizers were delicious and it filled us up before our main entree. The Village Salmon was simply delicious! The salmon tasted fresh, the different flavors were so good and the shrimp was a great size. The rice was a different taste; however, it wasn't bad at all. Dropped one evening and Sotos made room for us and we haven't missed a weekly meal in almost a year. I heard a lot about this place so we went there with some expectations. The waut staff is great but the food was just OK. It didnt justify the price we paid at all. We got their recommended starter with scallops which they charged a whooping $20 and it has bearly 3 scallops in it. We got slow roasted lamb and a lamb rack and they both tasted ok. Neither of them were worth the price in our opinion. Just these 3 dishes a side salad, one glass($9) wine and 1 beer in... the bill came around $100. We came to celebrate so the price wasnt matter but the food didnt do justice for that pricing. read more

Today my wife and I went for lunch and it was quite good. We started with the "flaming cheese" appetizer called Saganaki, and also had the Pasticho (baked greek pasta with kasseri cheese, ground beef, and béchamel), and Mousaka (layers of eggplant, potatoes, and ground beef topped with béchamel). Everything was tasty. Looking forward to going back to try some other unique menu items. EDIT: I've been back many times on return visits, and the food has always been good. My favorite is the superb Fish Cavo Greco (the avgolemono sauce is wonderful). Psaropita is good, not great. The kataifi dessert is delicious. read more

Smallish in size, but very warm and welcoming - service is excellent, and the food is to die for...had lamb hummus, saganaki, gyro plate, spanakopita, and baklava - the food is absolutely amazing, have not had this type of authenticity since visiting Greece a few years ago. It was such a pleasure to visit Zorba's. Upon arrival, you immediately get the sense that this is a restaurant that values their customers. The service was first rate. First out was the freshly made pita, which was piping hot, and enjoyed with the house hummus. Every entree was excellent. The village salmon was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were vibrant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed yet sophisticated. My only complaint would be that they stock Pepsi products as opposed to Coca-Cola. Oh well! I love Zorba's. I began eating at the original Zorba's in the 80's and it was such a loss when they closed to return to Greece. I, along with the greater Baton Rouge community Zorba's embraced their return in a new location. The atmosphere is inviting. The food is delicious. The service is outstanding. GRAND SLAM TO REACH THE POST SEASON! This place is crazy good and has soooooo much to offer. While traveling through Baton Rouge, I grabbed dinner here probably a dozen times. The food is extraordinary! It's so flavorful and so fresh, it's ridiculous. You would imagine it's from some Greek family's kitchen rather than a restaurant. On multiple occasions I had the grilled salmon, several of the chicken dishes, the roasted vegetables (to die for!), and the lemon chicken soup. The food is fresh and super flavorful. We went to Zorba's recently for dinner. It's a beautiful restaurant, and a bit more upscale than your average Greek restaurant. That being said, the prices are also a little more upscale, though not terrible, so be aware of that before you go. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating. The ambiance very nice. They have a good sized menu with items that for the most part are not your "average" fare. They do offer the standard items you'd expect, but I liked that fact that we were able to try something totally different. They actually make their own Pita Bread, and that was a first for me. It tasted awesome, and the texture was different than anything I've had in the past. Their hummus was on point, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Their Greek Salad was possibly the best I've ever had. I got the Psaropita, which is grilled shrimp, crab, and cheese inside filo dough. It was different than anything I've ever had, but tasted fabulous. It was a huge serving, so my husband had to help me finish it! We loved the fact that the food is so different, and will definitely be back! read more
