The service was great and after just a few minutes my order came out fresh and hot. You get 5 flour tortillas and there was SO much chicken, I was very surprised and the food quality was excellent! The guacamole was exceptionally good. It comes with pico de gallo, rice and refries with cheese. You also get free chips and salsa. I was very disappointed with the salsa, clearly not house made. So this was a walk from our room. So convenience score was a 5. Lots of choices on the menu with the standard Mexican fair. Plenty of tables this time of night and on a weekday but for some reading the hostess looked annoyed when we asked for a booth by the window? Once seated our server was right there. Got drinks and placed our orders. Started with some chorizo queso. Pretty tasty but not the best we've had. A decent started. I ordered chicken with chorizo and a burrito with rice. Pretty good. Chicken was overcooked and dry but tasted pretty good. Deb had the chimichangas with chorizo. It was ok. Decent flavors. An ok stop for dinner. Convenient if staying next door. This sweet spot was on our way back home from a camping trip with family. The food was perfect! Check out the lunch menu between 11-3 for an ideal portion size! Our server, Lucas was fantastic! Clean and friendly, with consistently good food and great customer service! My family and I have enjoyed eating here for all of these reasons. I also appreciate being able to clearly read an itemized bill with no hidden charges - unlike a couple similar restaurants that have charged us for water, billed us the equivalent of an extra meal, and/or added a gratuity for my family of five (when we're the easiest customers on the surface of Earth). This place was a nice find during our visit to Jekyll Island this year. Mexican restaurants seem to have the best value for the money spent. This place had lots of parking, clean, friendly service and cute decorations for Halloween. We ordered cheese dip, Texas fajitas for two, nachos and chimichanga plate. The complimentary chips and salsa were a great start to the meal. Rated 4 My son had the chicken nachos and they were good but found very difficult to eat since the chips were so thin. The chips were thin and perfect for salsa and cheese dip but too thin for nachos. Chicken was shredded he would have preferred grilled, but that was not an option. Rated 3 Husband and I shared the chimichangas and fajita plate. Chimichangas were made with ground beef vs. tips which was not expected. They were okay, but again the choice of meat was off for me. Rated 3 The fajitas were great. Fajitas are a go to at Mexican restaurants for us and very rarely disappoint. The ambiance was nice good music looks like it's clean, the sevice was also nice. The food was delicious we were four of us the only thing I was not happy with is with the salad dressing. I ordered the shrimp salad and came with ranch dressing so I asked for Balsamic or any other dressing they said they don't carry other dressing bc they have only 2 salads on the menu. I asked for some olive oil and lemon? We don't haveolive oil. that really upset me. If you have salad on the menu you should have couple option of dressing like any other restaurants. I tried telling the manager and the bar tender how warm the beer was. They even told me that the temperature for the keg was 35 degrees. The mugs are cold but the beer itself is at least 50 degrees. Got severely sick after dining there had the tamales . I love tamales. Called and spoke with manager and he said food is not prepared on site it arrives in cello pack and is plated and heated. Called the day after still severely sick and was not even offered any compensation just reiterated food is merely reheated on site no food is prepared there. What a sham could be a destination but they don't cook there. read more

Very good restaurant, I ordered the Southwest Burrito, some one should have warned me about the size. One of the biggest burritos I have ever had, had to take half of it home. The restaurant has a really good vibe and great decor but the food is overpriced and severely lacking in quality. Pros: Good exterior and interior decor. Fast service Cons: The portion sizes are very small for Mexican food especially when you consider the price. I ordered a quesadilla for $12.99 and it was about half the size of a normal quesadilla with very little cheese. It was more like a taco then a quesadilla. The alcohol is pricey for the area. $7 for a bottle of Corona. Most other Mexican restaurants in the area are about $4. read more

Omg smelled so good as we walked in. We got seated really quick, but that was it . Lol.. I guess they forgot about us and by the way I was with my poor mom who is elderly (30 min with no acknowledgment)We waited and soon realized there were people after us who received service. I got up and payed for my free chips and salsa( they were really good) and left . As I was leaving I was thanked by one of the workers who thought I finished my meal and I informed her that I didn't get service. And she immediately apologized and offered free food and even offered to send to my hotel next door. I explained to her that I appreciated it but kindly rejected the offer. ( I was so disappointed ). Our waitress was unfamiliar with the menu, often having to ask *us* questions about what the dish came with based on menu description, rather than being able to answer questions. She was also generally inattentive and we had difficulty getting items, such as drink refills or extra napkins. We ordered 4 entrees off the regular menu. Our only modification was a request to bring the toppings for our daughter's quesadilla on the side, so that her food wouldn't be touching. The food itself was fine, standard Mexican restaurant food. When the owner's mother came by to check on us, we explained the issues with the waitress. (We weren't looking for compensation -- just wanted to make sure they knew she needed training.) The owner's mother was extremely nice, listened, and grabbed the front of the house manager, who was extremely helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, when our check came, we were charged an additional $3.99 for an "open food item". Since the only modification we had made was the extra plate and we had not seen a plate charge listed on the menu nor had our waitress informed us of it, we asked the manager to take it off the bill, to which he readily agreed. The problem came at the end of this interaction. The manager took our bill to the back to adjust it. And we sat for several minutes waiting for the adjusted bill. The owner's mother came by and told us they were "working on adjusting the bill" and to give them a few more minutes. We waited another 3-4 minutes. (We just want to pay the bill and leave.) Then the owner came out to "show us the void of the $3.99 charge, but explain it was because we had upgraded our meat on one of our meals". The owner's tone was extremely condescending. We had not upgraded any meat and ordered all meals as presented on the menu. I tried to explain this to her and explain how the waitress had no familiarity of the menu. At this point, she chastised me for interrupting her while she was trying to explain what happened and told me I shouldn't yell because I might "scare a baby". I should note that while I did raise my voice because the owner was not choosing to listen to us, I was not yelling or using any questionable language. Honestly, although it wasn't an amazing experience, we were having a fine time until the owner came over to our table. It took another minute or so after this interaction to get the check so we could pay to leave. read more

Now when I was doing this review, be advised that this was for this one particular visit. This was our third visit and the previous two were great. Delicious food and great service. Now comes meal number three. Right away, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks, two sodas and a water. Then our guacamole, which we ordered at the same time as the drinks, came a full half an hour later. Our waitress, Angel, seemed a little uptight, almost like we were a bother. I watched her wait on her other tables and every time she went to her table full of men, big smiles. Same sour look every time she came to our table. So much so that we started to take it personal. Our guacamole arrived and we had to wait 5 minutes on chips. This last thing was the topper. Our food arrived. Thank God the kitchen staff brought it out or it would have arrived cold. I ordered fajitas and I had to wait a full 10 minutes for tortillas. When the cold tortillas did arrive, my wife and son were almost finished their meals. I will actually give this restaurant another shot because the food is very good and as I said, our previous visits were outstanding. The only thing I will do differently next time is request to not be seated in Angel's section. If you try this restaurant, I highly suggest you do the same. read more
