Walking in the hostesses greeted us and asked to take our coats and umbrellas. They were very complimentary of us and also gave me a single stem rose when they heard it was my birthday. Walking to our table we were able to take in the overall beauty and romantic ambiance in every room which was exactly what I hoped for. Our waiter and the staff were very attentive throughout the night and wanted to ensure we wanted for nothing. The food from the complimentary bread, olive, olive oil and prosciutto to the cocktails to the entrees and cannoli for dessert were a 10/10! We had not a single recommendation for improvement. After dinner we popped into the piano lounge for a night cap and to listen to the band. The lounge itself is sooo chic and plush!!! And the wait staff and bartenders are all top tier...they truly know how to create and overall start to finish fine dining experience. Oh and the band was fun! They asked for (& got) crowd participation which was fun to watch. This was 100% an overall romantic and fun fine dining experience and we already said we're coming back!

I'm sorry, it just didn't work for myself or my family of four. We do a lot of eating out,…read morespecially myself. I also do my share of traveling. My biggest problem with this restaurant is the price of the meals. Believe me I'm not cheap by any means. If the food and the portions are good I will gladly pay. I'm not saying the food wasn't good but I am saying it's no where near worth what they are charging. $20 plus for calamari. If you're going to charge these numbers the food needs to stand above and beyond. As a family of four we normally have mixed reviews on different restaurants. Unfortunately we all felt the same way. I will say the staff was very kind. The ambiance is a bit stuffy for this area I will also say. I'm mostly disappointed because this area needs restaurants in the worst way

BrianB July 18, 2026…read more RUN don't walk to TOC Restaurant... They have updated the interior but more importantly have a new CHEF (from the one they opened with when they 1st re-opened) who has proven over & over again to be an extremely talented & creative chef who produces sumptuous meals to order. Both my partner & I have an allergy to garlic (it's a curse...Lol) and have some experiences where when the chef is told of our allergy (for instance @ Knock) & the response has been "the dish is made with garlic and I am not willing to change that." Not only has the chef @ TOC worked with us around this issue but on 2 occasions came to our table to suggest alternative seasonings so we could order that dish. We cannot say enough great things re: our 6 to 7 dinner we've had @ TOC in the past 2-3 months nor can the guests who have accompanied us. I would be hard-pressed to name a restaurant that offers the quality of their meals @ a reasonable price as TOC offers in the City !!! Haven't had the pleasure of recommending a restaurant in some time with the passion & energy I feel re: TOC & its' marvelous CHEF !!!!

On the second floor, you'll usually find DJs. My recommendation? Swing by for a happy hour cocktail, and enjoy the music. Bring friends (I do!). Or meet some (I have!). Crispy pepperoni with Brussels, pecorino cheese, and spicy honey. The most unique combination of delicious flavors!! Followed with the Burrata. Excellent and the bread that came with it was some of the tastiest bread I have ever had. Yes, I know it is just bread..but no seriously, so good! Next a burger and fries! My husband declared it the best burger he has had in at least 10 years! Fries were equally noteworthy!! Best best best meal! Beer selection varied and outstanding and the Aperol Spritz was one of the best I've had. Get yourself to Union and Finch..your taste buds will thank you!!

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.
