Tavern on Camac was such a great experience. The bartender and service were excellent--welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. The ambiance felt polished and lively, which was a refreshing change from many of the gay bars I usually frequent. I tried the fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño-pickle slaw and gochujang aioli, and it was delicious--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bartender also let me know the space has three levels, with a piano bar upstairs that really brings the energy. Between the music, atmosphere, food, and service, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Amazing !!!! Restaurant was a little hard to find but was a true hidden gem. Landed on a Sunday in Philly late and had resigned myself to not much being opened late at night and what might be opened not being great. Saw this on Yelp...Thank you my fellow Yelpers. This restaurant is located below a Piano bar in a basement but don't let that fool you...I felt like I walked into a five star Michelin restaurant with upscale bar type eats. This would be a great date night restaurant . Staff were welcoming and wait staff checked in frequently. The food was absolutely amazing with complex flavor profiles. They took ordinary food like sliders and a chicken sandwich and raised it to another level. Looking forward to coming back soon. Helpful tip if you use Ride Share... they will drop you off by a narrow walkway. Restaurant is about halfway down the narrow road/walkway

Such a cool LGBTQ+ bar, with awesome piano player singing various songs, including many Broadway show tunes, and others join in, karaoke style. Friendly bartender and patrons. And good, reasonably priced drinks. Will definitely be back!

Have been here a couple times and didn't realize I never rated. Very cool hangout spot no matter what you're looking for. Downstairs restaurant, middle floor piano bar and lounge, or the upstairs club for dancing. Bartenders are great on the piano bar level. The club music can be hit or miss depending on the DJ but it's fun regardless. Haven't yet been to the restaurant for food but have heard good things.

I've been there a couple of times and I liked the atmosphere. Great vibes at the piano bar and fantastic music tunes played by the live DJ on the second level floor. A very diverse crowd dancing. The drinks are not watery and all the staff is respectful and friendly. Had lots of fun, it was a really great night!!

Fun spot for live music. Definitely gets busy at night. Plenty of drink choices and not crazy expensive.

Had a great time at the piano bar. The piano player was charming. Sang two songs. And the upstairs club was very nice.

Absolutely miserable, when he starts his shift he will remove my beverages even if the half full, throws them away all the time and gets away with it, knows it's mine, OR will absolutely ignore me and friends at the end of the bar because he does not like us. He has been known to tell people he does not like them and refuses to serve them on that basis alone. Too many people have brought this up before to continue to endure this piss poor bartender ruining an otherwise enjoyable-as-always time at the Bike Stop.

First let me address this: The Bike Stop is what you make of it. Go in, relax, be friendly to…read moreothers, and overall be a nice person, and everyone else is going to reflect that back to you. It started off with the bouncers. They asked for my ID! I haven't been asked for ID in well over 20 years, so I was quite pleased to be asked for it. I produced my ID, and bopped on in there with my date. The place wasn't packed for a Friday night. A few folks at the pool table, some folks wandering about, and lots of people at the bar. We wandered downstairs where the light was red, and the bar had fewer people at the bar. We took our seats, ordered some drinks, and paid. Nice, strong drinks, and the bartender was super friendly. When we asked for glasses of water, they literally had a stack of pre-poured water for anyone who wanted it, and handed it over no questions asked. Some places try to charge you for water. Not this place! That's awesome that they're encouraging safer drinking. We had a lovely time. A troupe of ladies came in and were chatting with the bartender, while this shirtless guy was making out with some other guy on the other side of the bar. After a while, I wanted to maybe dance a little bit, and see if I couldn't find seats at the bar, as well as explore the rest of the space. Also, there was some kind of smell going on in the basement that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but it was getting in the way of my good time, so my date and I wandered up. There were a couple of seats empty at the bar! Nice. We asked politely from the guy sitting next to it if those seats were taken, and he gave us a big smile, saying "Nobody's sitting there, but thank you for asking anyway!" What an absolute sweetheart. We ordered a couple more drinks, until my date overheard the guys who welcomed us to grab those chairs talking about some horror movie they'd all just seen and were obsessed with. My guy chimed right in, and the lot of them got into a spirited enjoyable discussion about horror, music, and the various implications of those in our various POC communities, and it was such a good time. I was curious about the other two floors, as we'd now experienced the basement area and the main floor. Apparently those other floors are only open for special events, and they have a total of 4 of them. Some day I'd like to come back when the whole place is open, and have a nice wander around the space. The crowd on the night we went was on the bear-y side, but we also saw that group of queer ladies in the basement, and people of all different races and body types in the space. It was lovely to see a place where diversity is celebrated, and we felt welcome even as out of towners coming for a short visit. The people were lovely, the drinks were strong, and the staff was friendly too. Literally on the way out, as we passed the folks outside having cigarettes, we got them waving goodbye to us and asking us to come back again soon.

We went with a group two nights in a row, and everyone had such a great time both nights, which I think says rather a lot. It is not every place that earns an immediate return visit, let alone the very next evening. The music was good, the drinks were great, and the staff was super nice and friendly the entire time, which made the whole experience even better. The place was also really clean, and it never felt too crowded, which was especially appreciated with a group. There was room to actually enjoy ourselves without feeling packed in or shouted over. The rooftop was absolutely the crowd favourite and was so nice with the great weather. It really gave the whole place an extra bit of charm and made it very easy to settle in and stay a while. The location is also excellent, which made it a very convenient spot to come back to. Overall, this place delivered a thoroughly fun time, good drinks, and a very easy atmosphere to enjoy. We would absolutely go back and would happily recommend it.

It was more of a playful nostalgic environment rather than a place where I would eat, but for a quick strong cocktail or beer it was a fantastic hang out. There were several of us and the bar was slammed. Loved the Ms Pac-Man arcade game and the Godzilla pinball machine next to the dart board. The gender neutral bathroom was a disaster and loved it. The door had a posted sign as a warning, "One Urinal, One Toilet, One Lock". The walls and ceiling (yes ceiling) was plagued with colorful marker ink and stickers, basically graffiti. Was not sure if I was permitted to add to the decor, but I wanted too so badly. Surprisingly, the sink, urinal, and toilet was so clean that the white porcelain shined against the graffiti. The retro-inspired geometric pattern of white and black hexagons created an inviting tile floor. If you are visiting Philly, you gotta take a peek. Guaranteed this is a stop you wont soon forget.

There were a few security inside and outside. Once inside there was at least 1-2 police officers. The tables were small for adults and at time uncomfortable. But, we made it work. So if you need to come on stage, it will take you a while to get there. The bar staff were amazing. They did not charge for non alcholoic drinks which is appreciated. They were also very busy, but kept things moving all while whipping out the drinks and talking to customers and keeping their cool. The bathrooms were down a long hallway. The bathroom attendants were helpful. They were taking you down to the bathrooms,, opening the door and checking to make sure iit was empty, and clean before letting you in. At one point they were cleaning because someone threw up. So I appreciated them cleaning up as the night was going on. The show itself deserves its own review.
