Really a 4.8. The service was great and almost all of the food was superb. We loved the saganaki with pita. The humus was a little middling - not that smooth and easy to spread or dip. The beef rib pasta was fantastic as was the whole Branzino. We would have both again. The grilled shrimp skewer was a definite plus. The only real miss was the risotto, that wasn't too creamy. The tempura style mushrooms tasted a little like flour. The desserts however got back on track and were without. We had two mixed drinks, and all told for three adults was about 65 each. Had the BEST experience at Meli -- truly 10/10 across the board The food? Unreal. The gyros were to die for, calamari perfectly crispy, seabass absolutely delish, and the orzo... chef's kiss. And just when I thought it couldn't get better -- surprise birthday chocolate mousse cake AND the sweetest card Dessert lineup was next level too: baklava cheesecake (!!!) and a banana walnut espresso martini that had me questioning everything in the best way. Meli's is a charming little Greek spot tucked into the heart of Easton. The atmosphere is dimly lit and cozy, the staff genuinely warm and attentive, and you'll almost certainly want a reservation--tables go quickly. The space itself is a bit tight, but not unwelcoming. The food is very strong by Lehigh Valley standards. We started with appetizers: the fried zucchini fritters were a standout--crisp, light, and phenomenal with the tzatziki. The crispy tuna was flavorful, though the portion was modest. A few of the other dips were solid, but nothing especially memorable. For mains, the short rib pasta was well executed and comforting, though it didn't quite rise to "must-order" status. The real showstopper was the sea bass--absolutely phenomenal and easily one of the top three sea bass dishes I've had anywhere in the world, which is saying something. Dessert is where Meli's gets playful. The menu is creative, and while the chocolate mousse cake was good, we couldn't help but regret skipping the baklava cheesecake after seeing it at a neighboring table--it looked incredible. Overall, Meli's is a beautiful, intimate restaurant with very good food and a standout seafood offering. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you can snag a reservation. read more

I went to Meli while in the area visiting friends and they made reservations for 7pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was absolutely mobbed when we arrived. We were told there would be a slight wait. That slight wait turned into 45 minutes. When we were seated, the restaurant staff let us know they would comp two appetizers, which was nice of them. We decided on the tzatziki dip and grilled octopus. Both were delicious! For my entree, I got the Peri Peri Chicken, which was roasted chicken with a harissa sauce and rice pilaf. It was flavorful and cooked perfectly. My fiance tried the Deconstructed Pastitsio, which was a pasta dish with braised short rib in a béchamel sauce. It was the star of the show! We couldn't skip dessert so we went with the Bougatsa, which was described as "crispy pillows with cinnamon ice cream and caramel." It was like crispy cinnamon sugar pita chips layered with cinnamon ice cream. It was light and delicious. Overall, we had a great meal at Meli. I was happy to finally get back here to try their food since I had only had a cocktail here before. We started with the yellowfin on crispy rice. SO good! For our entrees, we tried the bone-in pork chop and Chilean sea bass, also really good. For dessert, we had espresso martinis; the perfect way to finish. Danielle, our waitress, was wonderful. Our first time visiting Meli and it was so good. Will definitely go back! The ambiance is so nice! The staff were great. We had some questions about the menu and our waiter was very helpful and gave great recommendations. We had the cheese flambé as an appetizer and it's served with pita bread, it was really good, forgot to take a picture before we dug in! We also ordered the tzatziki appetizer and that was great. For my entree I ordered the tomahawk pork chop, it was so good! And my daughter got the Maya Meli burger, which she said was very good too. Then the chocolate mousse, delicious. Made a reservation at Meli Taverna prior to seeing a show at the State Theater in Easton. Glad we did. Our initial reaction when arriving, even from the outside, was that it was a good choice. The decor inside was very nice as well. We were seated promptly and the room was full. Our server was prompt and explained both food and drink items that we had questions about. We started with 3 Meze items (eggplant, bean dip and tzatziki) that were served with pita and vegetables. Perfect! We then had their Greek meatballs and a yellowtail sashimi plate. Both excellent! Had a late dinner here after a Marty Stuart concert at the beautiful State Theater down the block. Elegant restaurant, the staff was professional and very nice. Had the eggplant dip, just OK. The Meli Me Feta app was great--phyllo, warmed feta, and honey, how could that miss? My wife had the pork chop, I had the lamb shank. Both were cooked well, mine could've used more seasoning. The bougatsa dessert is a must--a tower of phyllo, cinnamon ice cream, semolina custard, honey & caramel. This place is a little pricy, but what decent restaurant isn't these days? My girlfriend and I went to celebrate us moving in together and getting new jobs. The food and service was top notch. We started with some Humus and the grilled octopus, the humus may be the best humus I've ever had and the octopus was excellent as well. For dinner I had the Bronzino, it was also again excellent. Went for my dad's birthday dinner. And the food was not impressive. They had an event that night. The place was cramped and insanely loud. The food was mid. Lamb gyro had no fresh elements... needed some lettuce, tzatki was not refreshing ... seemed not made in house. Chicken breast was ok... kinda tasted like airplane chicken breast... looks like they fake drew grill marks on it. I would recommended the Dakos Salata... this was a 10/10. Arugula salad was also good. Halibut was waaaaay too salty. I don't know if we went on a bad night or if this is the standard of the restaurant... if this was the standard I'm not Impressed. Being that it's a newer restaurant in the Valley I would be willing to give it one more chance, but this experience was by far one of the worst I've had this summer for a new restaurant. I love Yianni's, so I was disappointed to say the least. Hopefully on our next visit it's better! read more

We had: Appetizers: oysters (excellent, they had a soy based sauce), spanakopita (delicious, crispy on outside, creamy cheese and spinach on inside, with a side of feta spread). Main: Lamb with rissoto (lamb was tender and had deep flavor). Highly recommend. Salmon (very tender and buttery texture, complimented well with the glaze they had). The couscous, for me, I loved, but I can see for others that it might be a bit too soft (almost oatmeal-like), still recommended! Peri peri chicken (alright, had flavor but not enough or the right kind of flavor to say YUMZ. It was ok. Dessert: Baklava Cheesecake (light cheesecake, not overly thick, not too sweet) a perfect dessert for cheesecake lovers. Creme brûlée (very delicious, however the cream was a little wet... not thick/cream-like enough. The top caramel was perfection though! read more

We were greeted promptly and our server was attentive and knowledgeable and very friendly. He brought us water and took our drinks and appetizers promptly. Our food all came out very timely. For appetizers: calamari and three dips: tzatziki, olive oil garlic, and chili feta. The feta was unbelievable. I didn't care for the others. They gave bread and pitas. I only like the pitas and we asked for more. For my entree I got halibut, it was cooked to perfection, SO delish! I will post a few other entree photos as well. Definitely try this spot! My family and I were longtime Maxim's fans so we were sorely disappointed when they closed. It was nice to see a new place take occupancy and keep seats filled downtown. We ended up visiting for a special occasion and tried many items on the menu. Our waiter supplied genuinely friendly service. Good food overall. 100% get the curried cauliflower dish with chicken kebabs. I would go back just for that. Oysters felt one dimensional in terms of flavor choices, but I'm glad they're on the menu because it can be hard to find oysters served locally. Ambiance is bright and feels cheery, but the decor could be better. It has potential, but many of the items on the walls, ceilings, and entryway feel reminiscent of purchases you could find at Home Goods. It would feel more upscale if some changes were made in this department. For instance, I would remove the words on the walls; you don't need to say something about the restaurant being European inspired outright- just use your decorations to evoke that theme instead. This is not a reason to not visit, but just an observation because I care about design and like to take in the setting (that is part of what you're paying for, after all). read more
