Still great five star service and food. Have to mention our waitress Payton was fabulous. My wife has some strict dietary restrictions and Payton wrote her questions down and then went to the kitchen to get the answers. Afterwords my wife ask for some alternatives and the kitchen made the meal in a way she was able to not only eat but enjoyed as well. Since my last visit they have moved a couple doors down to a bigger area and kept their rustic look.

This was a yelp suggestion and you all delivered. The place is small so get a reservation. We walked in and so did half of the people seating but they do ask if you made one so maybe we got lucky. The service was personal and very friendly and engaging. The food was amazing. I had the special pork tenderloin and it was huge and the side of fries spilled over the plate. The peach bread cobbler was hands down the show stopper. This is a must. All is made when you order so relax and grab an old fashioned.

Incredible amount of food and everything was southern savory tasty good. We were first ones in and it kept getting busier as we ate. Located on a busy rural town traffic corner, it was fun looking out the windows. Service was great, atmosphere was really nice and the food was, well, we got a winner here, 5 stars. I hope to come back.

Everything about this place was just WONDERFUL! The service was GREAT, the food was absolutely DELICIOUS, and the ambiance was quite nice too. It's definitely a small place and I think that's how they can do all the parts so well. On our way out, we saw LOTS of people waiting to get in. If you want to check them out, I suggest a reservation!

A surprisingly modern and enjoyable gastropub in the heart of Corydon! Named for the year when James Monroe defeated Rufus King in that year's Presidential contest. Just kidding. Obviously, its a reminder of the year that Indiana was admitted as a state and the capitol was down the street. The food isn't old-fashioned, though! The menu is more adventurous than most of the pubs on this side of the river and the food delivers! I was very impressed by the options on entrees, but there are also more typical fare that I'm sure are executed well. Drinks were on point as well! The space is fairly small and they do offer a few outdoor tables when weather permits. Service was friendly, attentive, helpful and everything you want it to be. Great spot! We stopped in to eat at 1816 by chance but would definitely head back when in town again.

If you love amazing food, the perfect atmosphere, in a historic Indiana town. Come on over to 1816! This place is perfection. It's what you would expect from a big city high end restaurant. The service is on point as well. We are already planning to come back and make a weekend trip just to eat here.

We were very pleasantly surprised with our lunch experience. Someone had told us to check out Corydon because it has a cute downtown area. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed with the local shops, however, I will gladly go back to Corydon to eat here again! I looked at the menu online and it sounded good. When we arrived, it's much smaller than I anticipated. We were the second party in there for lunch and it filled up pretty quickly so I would say you should probably make a reservation if you're going for dinner. Online there was a lunch and dinner menu but there was just one menu given to us that had soups, salads, shareables, and entrees. There was also a drink menu. I went for the smash burger and it was so delicious, made to perfection. I'm a picky eater so I only got cheese on mine. It came with fries, which had a great flavor to them but could have been crisper. I overheard another server ask if his customer wanted truffle fries. I wasn't given that option and was unaware I could have but I'm sure they would have been good. My husband got chicken that came with beets, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes. I tried sweet potato and it was quite yummy as well! We didn't order any drinks other than coke and water but it looked like there was a variety of beer, cocktails, and wine!

The food was good. Prices were reasonable. It was not much of a sit in dining for me but the option was there.

There were six of us and we ordered five different items - 2 opted for the country fried chicken. Every meal was full of home cooked flavors and cooked to perfection. I had the daily special of soup and salad. The salad was fresh full of crisp lettuce, bacon, cheese, vegetables and toasty croutons. The bean soup was perfect and came with a large slice of fluffy sweet cornbread. My husband said the gravy was the best he has had in recent memory and paired with the chicken and mashed potatoes, he would definitely come back for. The bbq ribs fell off the bone and my brother in law loved them. The coconut cream pie had mile high meringue and was light and coconutty with a flaky crust. The chocolate cake was deep dark and chocolaty! The blackberry cobbler was hot and delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant for food and ambiance!!

This place is such a hidden gem. Tucked away off the beaten path, it has that cozy, "you almost…read moredon't want to tell anyone about it" kind of charm. The space is definitely on the smaller side, which adds to the intimate feel, but I can only imagine it gets pretty tight during peak hours--especially since they don't take reservations. That said, everything else more than makes up for it. The service was genuinely excellent--attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. And the food? Absolutely worth it. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. If you're thinking about going, I'd definitely recommend timing your visit to avoid the rush. It's a small spot, but one that delivers a big experience.

The menu is extensive so it took a minute for us to order. Everyone had water to drink. Our server brought us some fresh yeast rolls that were hot and tasty. We had the fried green tomatoes appetizer for the table. They were excellent served with sour cream and horseradish and ranch that we had to ask for additionally. Everyone ordered something different. Orders included: 1. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and cole slaw. I only tried their cole slaw which leans more to a vinegar base and I prefer a sweeter slaw. There were 4 pieces of chicken. 2. Meatloaf with mashed potato and gravy and cornbread. Cornbread was a bit dry, meatloaf was ok. 3. Mushroom and bacon smothered chicken, onion rings and cornbread. Person said the chicken was a bit dry, the mushrooms and bacon saved the dish. Onion rings were good, crispy and hot. 4. Chicken and dumplings with cornbread. Folks that tasted them said they make better at home, nothing special. 5. Rueben sandwich with corn pudding. Sandwich was just ok. Bread was too thick for my taste, beef was tender. Corn pudding was excellent, hot, creamy. Service was good, resturant quaint, street parking. The train rolling by, blowing the whistle while we ate was a nice touch, although it rattled the building. After we ate, got to go containers and paid we shopped at the adjacent and across the street shops to the resturant. That was fun. After shopping we headed back to the restaurant for coffee and dessert. Again each of us had a different dessert item which included: coconut cream pie, butterscotch pie, derby pie, chocolate sundae cake and the house specially, butter cream pie. All were pretty good. We all liked the house speciality pie, it was super sweet, creamy with a good crust. Coconut pie was a favorite as was the chocolate sundae cake. The derby pie was way too chocolatey for most of us. It is a cute little little resturant with a homey feel that will take you back in time. One of those places where you should try but then say, did that, don't necessarily need to revisit.

"Doctor, doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of…read morelovin' you" (Robert Palmer) Doc Crow's two locations (Indianapolis and Louisville) specialize in Southern cuisine, so you'll see pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, gumbo, pulled pork, brisket, ribs, okra, and jambalaya on the menu. Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. PRO TIP Be sure to check out the Doc's jaw dropping collection of bourbon bottles that seem to dominate the various rooms wherever you look.

The restaurant includes a long row of bar seating that extends to the other end of the restaurant, so there was no problem for me to find a seat on a busy day. I ordered the Mac n cheese and braised greens, and the Mac n cheese was really good and creamy. The braised greens were just okay, it wasn't the best greens I've had and it could use extra flavor. I don't know if this is a thing they do at Doc Crow's, but in my opinion the bartender excessively kept asking me what I wanted even while I was still looking at the menu. This definitely frustrated me since it was clear that I wasn't ready yet. I think she should have done a better job reading my cues to figure out when I am ready to order.
