We came to Choctaw Casino to celebrate our two year anniversary and this steakhouse was recommended by the concierge. It was conveniently located in the hotel. We decided to give it a try on a Sunday evening. We ordered the NY strip, it was juicy, well seasoned and at 22oz, it was definitely shareable! We had the asparagus and baked potato as sides which were okay. Nothing spectacular. The shrimp cocktail were large , however they didn't taste fresh. When y'all are done eating honey chipotle chicken tenders at chili's or going to billy sims to get some truly half assed bbq, come on down to 1832 and not only get some incredible food but have an actual dining experience. Absolutely every step was outstanding. From the welcoming hostess, to the blue cheese stuffed olives in the martini! We had the prime rib with giant baked potatoes and the best smoky Mac and cheese. Very expensive for mediocre food. The cheapest steak is $45. Everything is ala carte. The bread was the only no charge item but bread was all tasteless. The butter was also tasteless. The calamari was unsalted. For salad you get mostly all greens, 2 small pieces of blue cheese and only half a bowl. The soup was very salty couldn't eat it. I wasn't impressed. Save your money you're better off eating at the buffet or elsewhere. Also a small warning their booth seats are horribly under-stuffed. They sink down real low when you seat down, like seating on a toilet. Be careful. read more

Bone in ribeye was really fantastic. Seasoned and cooked (medium) perfectly. We shared two for the table (my husband and I and our two young kids. Mac and cheese and asparagus was really good! The wine flight was an incredible deal. Great service.. We never eat out when we want steak (besides 501 Ranch in OKC or traveling to a few other places) because steak at home with cuts from our market and on our grill can't be beat. We stayed at the casino for 4 nights and usually ventured out into Durant for dinner but we decided to try the steakhouse one night just to see what it had to offer. We weren't disappointed. The mac and cheese that our server recommended was below average and with seven cheeses included, simply had too much going on. I ordered the filet and my brother got the ribeye. We were both very pleased as both steaks were extremely flavorful and the crusts were some of the best we'd ever seen. Not terribly pricey, especially when considering how freely chips get thrown around in the casino. Our only complaint was that it took a while for the steaks to be cooked, roughly 35 minutes from ordering to them being served. They were hot so it wasn't the waiter's fault but there has to be some way to expedite the process a little. 35 minutes is unacceptable. Would definitely dine here again. read more

The service is exceptional. There were 3-4 servers checking on me and my glass never got empty. I had the Sea bass, stuffed with king crab and covered with a delicious sauce. Now this is a steakhouse. Best food outside of DFW metro. Relatively wide selection of beer and liquor - no Shiner Bock, but they had Sam Adams. Impeccable service: I never had to ask for another drink, it was always offered as soon as my drink got to the bottom quarter inch, and the same was true for everyone in our party of 6. My bone in rib eye was not the best steak I have ever eaten in my life, but it was certainly in the top ten, and I have eaten steak all over the country. Bravo Durant, and Bravo Choctaw Nation. I've had reservations here twice. Once all went well but the second time there was a mix up between casino staff and the restaurant so my reservation differed by 30 minutes from what I was provided. I understand things happen but the host was very abrupt and there was no empathy at all - when showing him what I was provided for reservation, he took the "it's not the restaurant's fault and here are your options." The casino staff says the restaurant was at fault but I don't really know. I know they were kind and helpful and the host's response had us all going "wow, this is high scale treatment?" The option was to wait endlessly for a cancellation. The casino staff was able to get a reservation 2 hours later to eat but I declined. This sentiment is repeated over and over in the reviews about management and I see nothing to indicate anything being done. This place doesn't seem to understand service is part of the price. The atmosphere of this place is very nice. The presentations are nice and the price will reflect it. I believe all sides are extra. A meal for 2 with appetizer and dessert was $200. I feel like business casual is about the lowest I'd want to dress. There are many suits, sports coats and dresses in here and I felt on the low side of dress code with jeans and button up shirt. Have been here several times. Food is better than average for Durant. Tonight I had a bison burger w/cheese. The cheese was pre-sliced cheap American cheese, may have even been "cheese-food". I found that tacky for a higher-end steakhouse. The large disappointment, though, was the macaroni & cheese, which was their specialty, had been changed to Kraft, I believe. Oh well. This was our second trip here while we stayed at the resort for our anniversary. We live in DFW and have consistent exposure to the fine steakhouses here. On the good side, I had a filet which was pretty good although it could've used some more seasoning. The prices are very reasonable which is also refreshing. The Mac and cheese was also excellent. The negatives to me would be the atmosphere, wine list, and appetizers. It is actually just off the casino floor with no separation and they leave the doors open so you can actually see people smoking and playing slots which isn't super appetizing. The wine list is short but prices are reasonable. They should improve the wines by the glass. We ordered crab cakes and they were lukewarm at best. Service was ok but fairly slow considering how small the restaurant is. We sat by the piano but he mostly played instrumental show tunes and kids songs which was odd. For southern Oklahoma this wasn't too bad but it is definitely a notch below the Dallas steakhouses like Bob's or 3 Forks. read more

I am loving this Steakhouse- tried it on my second night here; sat at the bar and had very good engaged conversation with the bartender about food and spirits. The beef carpaccio was very good-sliced very thin with fresh shaved Parmesan and flat leaf parsley. The 7oz filet (I ordered medium for a change) was absolutely perfectly delicious. The aged beef is carefully tended to and a must have. There is no reason for anything less than 5 stars from me. read more

We were the only people in the restaurant for about an hour but when people starting showing up it made the atmosphere so much better. SO. GREAT. I love going to a steakhouse where I can also enjoy seafood. My husband and I usually have steak, but we chose seafood this time and loved it! The scallops were spicy and he had the sea bass stew that was spicy and sweet. Daniel the sommelier was great. He provided a PERFECT pairing for both of us. Matt was our server and he was so friendly and always available. I do have a couple things I would like to point out--clearly not the servers' fault. First and foremost- whatever the restaurant is mopping their floors with-- STOP. I lost my shoes at least 5 times between the elevator and the hostess stand and again leaving. Gross. And embarrassing. My shoes stuck so hard to the floors my shoes feel off. Also, children were running up and down the stairs to the restaurant several times. We were forgotten at the hostess stand and watched several people who we heard tell the hostess the same reservation time as us be seated before us. When we finally asked about it she had us in a section that didn't have service I guess. And finally, the booth several seats over was playing inappropriate videos on their phone so loudly we could hear it over the restaurant/casino music. The outside circumstances took away from our overall experience, but the waiters, sommelier, and food was fantastic. read more

I am giving 3 stars because the food was good. The service, well that's another story. I have eaten at this place on multiple occasions, including holidays, weekends and weekdays. The food is usually pretty consistent but be prepared to spend allot of time waiting for it to arrive. So, we made reservations for 7:30pm on New Yrs Eve. Granted, a busy night. I get that. But being busy doesn't excuse bad service. First, we arrived right on time - 4 of us. We did not get seated until 7:50. It was another 15 minutes until anyone visited our table. No water, nothing. When our server did arrive, she said, "Oh, the water girl hasn't been by with water and bread? I will send her right over." She never did. Because it was New Yrs Eve, they had a fixed menu, so there were 3 choices for appetizers, 3 choices for entrees, etc. This should have made things easier for the kitchen to facilitate but we were informed that "you will likely be waiting an hour for your food." Most of us ordered the prime rib as an entree but when my sister said she wanted hers medium rare, she was told, "It's been cooking back there a long time, I don't think you can get it medium rare." (Huh???) For being in the weeds as we were told they were, NOBODY seemed to be in a hurry to do anything. We watched as wait staff kind of ambled about the dining room, often stopping to chat with other waiters, laughing and apparently completely oblivious to the fact that after 30 minutes, many diners (including ourselves) STILL didn't have water or bread. Or silverwear and napkins. I finally asked a busboy who was clearing dishes from the next table if he could bring us some water. He appeared a little flustered at this request but said he would bring it right out, which he did. We finally got our appetizers (a really good shrimp cocktail). While we were still finishing them, they brought our salads. After appetizers and salads were finished, they brought the entrees, 3 of us had prime rib and one of us ordered a filet. No steak knives, just a regular dinner knife, which was a little difficult to cut into an inch thick steak with. No one came to clear the appetizer and salad dishes, so we had to literally find room on the table by stacking them up at one end. Not very appetizing nor practical. Halfway through our meal, our server arrived with steak knives. Still, the dirty dishes remained, they never did clear them. The staff here seems utterly clueless as to how to serve guests in the upscale steakhouse that they describe themselves to be. While the food was good, the experience felt more like Cracker Barrel than fine dining. Clearing dirty dishes from the table and providing water (at least within 5 minutes of seating) is pretty basic. This is not an isolated "hey it's New Yrs Eve" event; service is consistently slow here, although some wait staff do actually seem motivated to provide a good experience but it's very hit or miss. Our meals were comp'd by my casino host....had I had to pay the prices they charge, I probably would have asked to speak to the manager that night about the service. A little better training of the staff is sorely needed here. read more

1/20/17 We ate there last night and the food was exceptional once they cooked my husband's steak correctly. We both ended up eating alone and I wouldn't be writing this had they offered us a discount or a free drink or SOMETHING. The common courtesy was deplorable and unexpected in such a high dollar restaurant and for that reason alone we will never eat there again. What restaurant doesn't try to make things right? What a way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend! We were there late, which can sometimes be dining disaster, but the staff at 1832 was flawless. I love the décor -every detail, like being inside a large ship - very cozy and romantic. J. Barker our host for the evening, went way out of his way to make this a memorable experience. We loved his personal approach and know that management must also be mentioned for allowing him to do what he does best in his own creative way. Also, how magical to have such a talented piano player - he didn't take a break and played right through to close! I had the delicious King salmon pictured, but the real star was the prime rib that my friends had - fork tender and made just how they liked it with preference of horseradish. Also a highlight - perfect dinner rolls with herb butter, desert and wine selection. To me while not cheap, was way BANG to reasonable buck. The fact that you can continue your visit by staying and playing at the Casino makes this an ideal getaway destination! Will refer and definitely be back! read more

We stayed one night, two rooms. We booked spa treatments and a birthday dinner at 1832 Steakhouse. The rooms in the Spa Tower are nice and the spa treatments were very good. However, the 1832 Steakhouse was very disappointing. I booked the reservation with specific emphasis on my wife's 50th birthday, and reminded the hostess of the same when we arrived for dinner. The waitress was sloppy, she dropped a tray of bussed dishes that splashed my shoes and pants and just stood there in disbelief, not even an apology. We had to ask 3 times for bread, 2 times for water refills that never came. The filet Oscar I ordered was good, the crab was rubbery from overcooking, the lobster for my wife was definitely overcooked and my son and his fiancé ordered airline chicken and waygu burger. Just before our entree's were delivered, we were informed that they were out of chicken. So she opted for another burger but were told it would "take awhile" so they shared my son's burger to avoid the delay. There was no acknowledgement of the Birthday that we booked for and pointed out to the staff. We spent $300 for dinner and we were very disappointed in the affair. I will not be back and I cannot recommend the restaurant to anyone. read more

1832 Steakhouse in the Casino - WOW was I pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food and staff were. No offense, but I just wasn't expecting it. I've been to Vegas a bunch, had great food before, and this is after all... Durant, Oklahoma. How could I have known that I would have the most AMAZING steak there that I have ever had before. Bottom line, you need to get the Bone-In Ribeye or the Peppercorn Filet. The Sirloin is just that... a typical sirloin. This is a nice steakhouse so get a nice cut. Its good but not any better than one at another fine steakhouse would be. But the Bone-In Ribeye was hands down the finest steak I have ever had. Period. I've lived in West Texas. I grew up in Dallas. I know what a good steak tastes like. But this was out of this world. We all felt the same. Wish I knew how to grill like that. Going back just because of the steak! read more

Last week I had one of the best steak dinners I have had in years. The piece of meat was a prime bone-in rib eye. Ordered it medium rare and it was cooked wonderfully to my specifications. With this I had a wedge salad with heirloom tomatoes, blue cheese. (Didn't ask but my guess it was Maytag or like quality blue cheese..) Also had fresh sauteed squash which was fair but with a little to much oil. The service was very good. And the wine list is very good with some top rated served by the glass. And the final tab was considerably less than what one pays in DFW. I had eaten at these restaurant several times before and had experienced a drop off in the experience. Well itis back. We made reservations at the 1832 Steakhouse to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. It was a Thursday evening, so the restaurant wasn't very busy. First of all, they charged us $7.00 for water. The Caesar salads we ordered were all croutons, my wife's baked potato was cold and my medium rare prime rib was raw. When I sent it back, they put it on a grill and returned it, looking like a rib eye steak. When we advised the restaurant manager of our disappointment, he shrugged his shoulders and walked off. We had 645pm reservations. We were seated at 627pm. It took a bit before our waiter came by and we ordered drinks and oysters for the appetizer. The oysters came on the half shell... I was a bit surprised there was no ice served under them and frustrated that $30, they weren't detached from the muscle. At this point, the oysters were gone and still no drinks. At 704 our drinks came. And at 720ish our food finally came. I had the lobster bisque. It was okay but warm at best. Hubby had the steak. We have attempted twice to come back and enjoy it ago unfortunately 2 different occasions the 1832 "steakhouse" was out of steak for the night. The restaurant is reservation only and once we arrived for our 7:30 reservation I was surprised to only see 4 other tables inside. Here is my reason for the low rating....I ordered a 22oz bone in ribeye cooked medium rare which cost $52. Once it arrived and started eating it, it was clearly cooked medium well. Not a big complainer but spending that kind of money on a steak I just wanted it cooked right. A manager came by and asked how the food was and I informed him the steak was super over cooked. His response..."if you can deal with it I will give you a free dessert ($10)" I just wanted a new steak...not free, no comps...just the steak cooked right and pay what it is worth. I told him I really just wanted a new steak and then he said if I cut pieces closer to the bone it more rare there. I took two more bites and just boxed the rest to take to my dogs. My boyfriend took the dessert but I couldn't believe management rather not lose food cost and waste a steak but know when people or coming to an upscale steak restaurant their main goal is to enjoy a nice high quality steak cooked correctly. With that being said the drinks were good, and our server Colton did a good job, but after this experience I will definitely not come back again. read more

If you are unhappy about anything, the chef will correct it for you and it will not happen again because he is a professional! (I expect you will be not only satisfied but awed in the process!) The chef and his staff have put this restaurant on the map in a part of the country that has been fine restaurant deficient for decades. Went for my husband's birthday. Excellent food! The crab en croutes was delicious. I had the trout and he had a steak and we both agreed that the food was better than Craftsteak in Vegas (the last steakhouse we went to). They kindly gave him a birthday dessert so he chose margarita cheesecake and it was great. Service and food were both excellent, and cheaper than most steakhouses. Will go back for sure! read more
