Here are a couple tips on how to remove vinyl: 1) you can use an iron or a hair blow dryer on the inside of the clothing to heat up the vinyl or 2) you can use VLR by AlbaChem, flip clothing inside out and put liquid behind vinyl then you remove the messed up "M" and replace with new one. I'm averaging my two experiences (ordering shirts/sweatshirts/sign for my son's Little League team) and ordering my niece's senior t-shirt. Pros: *Mike is a nice, reasonable guy who does his best to communicate via phone or email or text *No other company would take on so many orders in such a short amount of time. He was able to get most of our Little League orders done within a week and our senior shirts done in just 3 days!! *Quality is amazing! I loved all the shirts, sweatshirts and sign *Leslie who works there went above and beyond to deliver our shirts to San Lorenzo/saved us a trip Cons: *Some of our Little League orders were wrong/misprinted *Some of the Little League orders took more than a month (more than half a season) to get done *Honestly I think Mike may have taken on more than he could handle during the start of the Little League season and just wasn't upfront about it. Conclusion: Going with 1856 might be a gamble (judging from other reviews) but I don't know of any other company that would even attempt to take on as much in so little time as this company so it might be worth it! read more

I emailed the company and never got a response. I eventually went to their warehouse and was promised the items would be delivered to me. 1856 is a great resource for Embroidery services. Our office was in desperate need of an embroider to put our logo onto polo shirts for a team event. It was Friday and the event was taking place that next Tuesday. Scrambling around on a Friday trying to find people to accommodate is no easy task. Luckily, we found Michael at 1856 Productions. He pulled off a miracle. I brought the shirts in @ 4:30pm and they were ready Monday morning! Our logo looked fantastic! I don't like to give negative reviews, but in this case I feel I don't have a choice. During the Covid-19 pandemic I ordered two face masks from 1856 Productions. However, only one was sent. No big deal, I thought, I'll just email them. I emailed the address listed on their website and it was returned as undeliverable. I then reached out to them through Facebook and 24 hours later have yet to even receive an acknowledgement from them. I'm only out $8, so it's not a huge deal financially, but it must be said that their customer service is lousy, at best. As for the quality of the mask, it's very good, so no complaints there. read more

Seems to be a running theme, but I just had a bad experience with the owner, Mike. He was rude, condescending, and undermined what I had to say. My child's school ordered gear from this place. My kid is average size. The sweater we got was extremely small and didn't fit. I called to see if we could exchange for a larger size. Mike said we could exchange but that we'd need to pay for it, full price. What?! That's not an exchange. He said they get their clothes from another vendor and aren't responsible if sizes aren't true to size. Then he said if I brought my kid into his store with the sweater, he'd be the judge if it didn't fit or not. I asked if I could send a picture since we're in the middle of a pandemic, he said no. Super happy with the graduation yard sign they developed for Arroyo! And great customer service for pickup.

Very dishonest business. Mike fooled us twice and despite the school telling us not to we used him. We ordered t shirts for our team from him and even let him up sale us on more expensive shirts. We were promised shirts within a week and a half when he said he would send designs, he lagged. We had to call and contact him several times. When it came to getting the shirts.. half of them were printed crooked and more than 10 were so bad we couldn't give those out to the kids. Flash forward a few weeks we asked if he could take those 10 back and order us 6 different shirts. We came in there offering to pay for the shirts as well. He said he would cover it and that he would overnight ship them. 3 days later we call and he says he can't find the shipping information for the shirts. On the 4th day we went in to the shop and of course.. Mike was not there. The nice older lady there tried to look around but we're sure he told her to stall and make it look like she was looking. On our way out we saw written on a white board our teams name and "Friday" written under it. (This was on Tuesday and it was 3 days after he promised) We were promised the shirts for Tuesday of that week and he said he would just order them!!!!!!!!! We spoke to him one more time where he said he would contact the place he bought the shirts from since he "still had no shipping info". It has been 3 WEEKS and we still have not heard from him. Chalk it up as another loss. We really tried to do work with Mike but he's a salesman and a dishonest one at that. I can't stress this enough... please just be upfront and honest with your customers! don't lie, don't make fake promises and don't make the customers feel like a fool for using you! And to think we were actually going to get uniforms (a $6000 order) from you when you can't even fulfill some T-shirt's! You lost our business and our whole school organization's business as well! read more

My husband and I needed shirts to wear to our daughters high school event. I didn't have enough time to order from the website so a called the phone number on the order sheet we got from the school. Michael answered and was super accommodating. he asked what our schedule look like so that he could arrange a time to come meet us at his Warehouse. When we got to the warehouse he showed us what he had in stock for the school spirit wear. then let us take a look through so we can decide what style and size shirts we wanted. We found the style and size pretty quick. I was so happy that he made time to meet us, since it was a Saturday. Michael was really nice and the quality and price of the garments is great! One of the moms at the band competition even complimented my t-shirt asking where I found it. We will definitely be referring people to 1856 Productions in Hayward. read more

UPDATE: After my recent Yelp review, Mike Weavil reached out to me to try and resolve our issue. He offered to reprint 15 "corrected" shirts. Notice how I quoted "corrected", by Mike making that offer to me, it proves that he messed up my whole order of 56 shirts. At this point I do not need 15 more shirts from him. So instead I asked him to reprint all 56 shirts and I'll return the bad ones, and however many bad ones I cannot retrieve I will pay the difference. If he could not do that, then he should at least offer me some type of refund per shirt. Mike replied with an offer of $2 per shirt, but under one condition, that I take down my Yelp review. Mike admits to his error on the shirts. But the only way for him to issue any type of refund is to take down my Yelp review? We went back and forth over email for a couple days, and he would not issue any type of refund unless I took down my Yelp review. This guy is trying to buy his way out of his mistakes. And $2 per shirt? That's foolish. Save yourself the time and money and find a better vendor. There's plenty of them out there, that charge less for better work. Mike is rude and cant own up to his mistakes. 1856 Productions has been nothing but problems for me, on both occasions. I have everything on record over email, so if anyone would like proof please feel free to contact me and I will show you. __________________________________________________________________ Original Post: I went to this place twice, and received the same results both times. Mike does not pay attention to detail, he makes mistakes, and to top it off he blames his customers for the errors so he does not have to offer a discount or refund. Not only does he make mistakes, he's rude when you call him out on it. If you give them your art work, and your order is simple, I can see this place being OK. But if you have an order that requires a minimal amount of detail, FORGET IT! Pros: - If you're around Hayward, location is good. - If your order is simple I can see it being ok. Easy orders could workout. Cons: - Mike is one of the rudest vendors Ive ever met. - Details are NOT their thing. No attention to detail. - Stains on 29 out of 58 shirts. - Cracks on the font. - On both occurrences Mike had typos on his print. - Unable to follow instruction on placement of logos. - Mike admits to selling me shirts with stains, yet does not offer me any discount. Instead he defends himself with "I reprimanded my employee". - Mike cannot take blame for any of his errors. All in all, this is a bad business. I paid Mike over $750 for 58 shirts. 29 had stains, 13 had cracks, and all had typos. While Mike seems like a nice guy with good intentions, unfortunately it's not enough. 1856 Productions sent home a flier to the parents of my daughters high school softball team for fan gear. I placed an order on 3/28. I still don't have gear and after several messages on Facebook (starting 4/6/2018 through today) I have been told he only got a few orders, so it's not cost effective for him to process. Why would you sign up to do this if you don't plan to see it through? It's been a battle trying to get a refund or my product from him. Thank goodness I paid through PayPal and they guarantee my purchase. Lesson learned. ***UPDATED***Immediately after I posted this review, he told me product was ready and can we meet Wednesday. This place is horrible. Better off going somewhere else even if it cost more. Mike is a terrible businessman and comes up with every little excuse possible. I had have things done by him. He will give me a date when it will be done but when the time comes he will throw out all excuses in the book just because he didn't finish it on time or if he forgot to do it. This is not the first time that Mike has disappointed me by giving multiple excuses i.e. "Oh, there was a problem, extended vacation days, orders were lost". The breaking point was the baseball jersey I received as a gift from my boyfriend. I placed an order for a very important event for my 10 year old son. I gave the owner my 100% certainty that he would deliver the shirts I ordered on time with no flaws whatsoever. I spoke to him once over the phone on the last day before my son's event and he said he was "working on it." Not really sure what he meant by this but again, I had high hopes that everything was going to be OK. Day of the event, shirts were delivered to me and as I opened the box and unraveled the shirts - I was beyond displeased. Most of the shirts I had in my box had stains. Not only that I flipped the shirt to look at the back and the word "TEAM" had a space between the letter "T" and "e." I also ordered kids T-shirts for children ages 2-5. On the day I went to place these order at this company. I sat down with the owner (Mike) and asked him not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES!!!! "Will these shirts fit my daughter's size?" Who was also with me in the office. Owner said "yes, I can order kids sizes XS and S." The shirts I got in XS and S were YOUTH SIZES!!!! My child is a toddler and she was right there in front of him. They were humongous on my daughter, nieces, and nephews. The owner clearly did NOT pay attention to what I was telling him I needed AND I paid extra for the screen to print on the shirts for the kids. I was very disappointed. This was the one event in my son's life where I did NOT want anything to go wrong. We had so many people attend my son's event who traveled from afar: Hawaii, Seattle, Las Vegas, Reno, and San Diego. I was embarrassed to hand these shirts out b/c ALL of them were defected. I am a business woman and never in my line of career have I ever worked with a vendor who did not provide "Customer Satisfaction." Mike was notified of the defects on the shirts we received but did not offer any kind of resolution. The least he could have done was offer to fix, replace or offer some type of discount on the shirts BEFORE the event date, not after. For a professional T-shirt company, they sure do make a lot of mistakes. read more

I have used 1856 Productions 3x and have not been disappointed. I have gone to them w/last minute orders and been met w/nothing but a smile and "of course"! Most recently I had asked for a T-shirt to be printed that required intricate detailing, I expected it to be good but was so happily surprised by the excellent detail!! The T-shirts they use are of better quality and keep their dark colors! My customers have nothing but compliments on the apparel which has only translated to repeat business. I ordered 3 items for my daughter and each one was excellent! Loved the quality of the sweatshirts and the prints on each is very nice. I loved that on two of the sweatshirts, the strings were sewn in place at the top of the hoodies - no more missing strings when I do laundry :). I ordered my items online. I've contacted Mike 2x during this recent transaction, once via email and another on the phone - both times he responded professionally and courteously. I am aware of some of the negative reviews on here, but honestly I feel he did an awesome job for the items he offered for IVCMS. Thank you! Super disappointed with the service here. I ordered an item online on 3/10/15. After a week without any shipping notification, I emailed them and never got a reply. The first time I called, he told me that the package got sent to the wrong address and returned to him, so he would resend it to me with tracking. I called a few days later to ask for tracking information, and he basically dodged me and assured me it was in the mail and that he'd send me the tracking info through email (which he never did). I called again the following week, and he said that the tracking information stated it had been delivered, but when I asked for the number, he "wasn't able" to give it to me and said he would just resend the product. ONE WEEK LATER, I still had no package and left a voicemail, because by this point he was dodging my calls. After no response I opened a dispute on PayPal and he immediately refunded my money. Overall, a really frustrating waste of my time for a mediocre-looking t-shirt which was probably never sent out to me to begin with. read more

Thoroughly upset with the hoodies that I had made here. They were supposed to be gifts, but they kept pushing back when they would be done. Not only that, but when they were finally picked up, they had STITCHED the pocket closed when I SPECIFICALLY payed for them to be left open. I was being fed ideas of what colors I wanted to have on my hoodies and I had to disagree and reject their suggestions multiple times. I felt like I had to force what I wanted onto my own hoodie instead of just telling them what I wanted and having them comply to my order. When I called complaining, he said "I don't know what you want me to tell you." ..Excuse me? No apology for me being this upset? On another note, I was never given a copy of my purchase as a receipt, which is VERY sketchy. I would NOT recommend this shop at ALL.
