Had a wonderful Sunday all you can eat prime rib dinner last night. It was quite good, especially for the cost. Aside from the prime rib, there was chicken Marsala, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, steamed veggies, aujues & horse radish sauce. Warning, long story, but wanted to vent...Had lunch here today, they were busy but not overwhelmed. There were tables open and they had a "wait to be seated" sign at the door...waited ten minutes before being acknowledged, then one of the waitresses said, "I'll be with you shortly" and walked away...noticed several tables and booths were vacant, but not bussed, my friend went over to one of the tables where they had a large party and put a bunch of tables together, he pulled one table and chairs back to their original spot and placed all of the stuff on the table onto the other table, basically bussing it himself. When the waitresses saw this, two of them hustled over to scold him, but said we could have the table. At this point, my friend motioned for me to join him. About then, one of the waitresses says "you guys can't just be moving stuff around, blah blah blah". I said "we're sorry, but we're just trying to help, she walked away without further comment. Then sat there for a few minutes and she returns and starts in again about how we just can't be doing what we did. At that point I had had it, I told her to find us another waitress to which she replied, "I'm not even your waitress, I'm just telling you I'm irritated with what you guys did" I told her "just stop! We got your point and I don't want to hear anymore" she then says "if you don't like it, you're welcome to leave" and went on and on. I then told her to stop talking and leave us alone. Again with "you're welcome to leave!" Saw her spouting off to another waitress about us and finally our waitress shows up at the table. This young lady handled everything perfectly and in a timely manner. When we were wrapping up, she brought the check and I asked her if the wait staff shared their tips? She said no and that they all get to keep the tips for their own work, so we hooked her up with a great tip. I contemplated talking to someone, but really didn't want to deal with it anymore. She was a jerk to us, fair warning if you go there...I didn't get her name. read more

Wife and son joined me for a really enjoyable late Saturday lunch here. Nice layout..beautiful view of the golf course....excellent service from Melody and really good comfort food. I had the 1880 Burger..cooked perfectly with excellent fries. Wife had the BLAST sandwich(bacon,lettuce,avocado,swiss cheese and tomato). She liked it. My son had a meatloaf sandwich and was pleased. You can get cocktails or beer/wine but we opted for iced tea...pepsi and water. A good place to stop if you are travelling through and need a pit stop or if you are staying or golfing in beautiful Mesquite. read more

Wow!!! What a great dining spot tucked away in Mesquite NV. We enjoyed our breakfast with the view of the golf course in a quiet resort atmosphere. We ordered the Conestoga Omelet $9 which was delicious with all the condiments. We will come back for lunch or dinner on on the way back home. read more

Getting 20 percent off for checking in with Yelp was great! A previous review criticized them for not having many menu options but I think that's a good thing because it makes ordering easier than, say, the Cheesecake Factory whose menu can be overwhelming. The service was great and they checked in with us often and made sure the soda was always refilled (though it did cost $3). The fish tacos were great and their burger was well cooked and we loved the burger sauce. Reasonably priced especially after the discount. Food was fresh and brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Nice view of the golf course and many TVs, though they were all on the golf channel. We got buffalo wings too as an appetizer which were not too spicy and they were good about replacing the sauce if needed. This was a good experience and we will probably stop by here whenever in Mesquite. read more

We called before we came and asked if they had ribs. The answer was yes. So we went, sat down and ordered ribs for him, steak for me. We prepared to wait as it is 20 min. For ribs. After 10-15 minutes, waitress came over and said they didn't have any ribs. Watched people that came in after us get their food before we were told the bad news. I don't understand how they didn't know they were out of ribs. Now I wanted to leave but hubby said he'd have a burger instead, but was disappointed. I would think that "chef" would have let staff know what they don't have. Food came. Steak was overcooked, (ordered medium, it was well done) fatty, and tasteless. Potato undercooked. Vegetables salty as could be, and I like salt. Burger was ok. Fries were the best thing. So unfortunately we won't go back unless they change the cook. We keep giving them one more chance but no more. Wish we had told them how bad it was but manager wasn't there. Also, while we waited for 30 minutes to get our food, we read the local magazine and discovered an ad saying they had early bird specials for 10.95, but were never told about them and they weren't on the menu. read more

Really not sure how this has such a high rating. Place smelled quite musty/moldy right as we walked in which is strange for a dessert location. Small menu. Got the Steak Oscar with asparagus hash. Steak over cooked but after waiting so long just ate it. As a Sun City resident I suppose I might have a bias. Been here a few times now since my March 2015 move into the area and have been happy with every meal so far. Never been here with a crowd and have always been pleased with the casual ambience and great views. Service can be a bit slow at times, but I also can get impatient. Discounts for homeowners and also on the back of the local Smith's Market receipts don't hurt the already reasonable prices. read more

Played Sat late morning w/ my group from Vegas. They had never played the course. After we were done, we had lunch at the 1880. On a road trip and this looked to be the safest place to eat on the exit but it was a huge mistake! I ordered the 1880 burger substituting a veggie patty and bit into a real burger. I nearly got sick at the table but no apology and even though the 1880 burger was a special for $9 the veggie burger was not and cost $13.95 once they got it right. We passed a McDonald's on our way in, should have eaten there. Passing through on our way back to Las Vegas and found 1880 was rated #1 for breakfast. Thought we should check it out. I ordered French toast which was average, nothing great but not terrible. I also ordered a side of sausage which was microwaved patties the maple syrup was watered down. I asked for different syrup but it was still watered down. Very disappointed. 1880 is located six miles from interstate 15 and the speed limit is 35 and stop lights so trip takes about 15 mins. also, this is a golf club eatery with no signs to indicate where you enter to eat. read more

Wow what a find. I don't usually like to stop in Mesquite but was hungry and needing a good dinner so I decided to try a golf restaurant. I was right in thinking it would have good food. The meatloaf was so succulent and tasty smothered in shaved onion rings on top of a bed of fresh sautéed green beans. When the menu said fresh sautéed veggies I thought it was going to be the typical broccoli or zucchini combination. The house red wine floored me both in quality and price. We live in Sun City and would really love to give 1880 our business. However, every time we've been there, the service has been terrible. The food, once it arrives, is great, but be prepared to sit there for a long time waiting for it. The last straw was the night of Dec. 20. We arrived at 5:15pm, ordered drinks which came fairly quickly. Then we waited and waited to give our appetizer order. It finally arrived about 30 minutes after we ordered it, and the appetizers were on their special happy hour menu. Shouldn't have taken longer than 10 15 minutes to get it out. Finally, after another 45 minutes had passed, we called another waiter over to ask him to send our waitress over. She came about 15 minutes later. The four of us ordered: wife and I ordered a sandwich to share, other couple ordered soup. One hour later, nothing had arrived. We got up, paid for our drinks and appetizers and left. We will never never patronize the place again. It wasn't the waiters' fault. Something went wrong in the kitchen. The dining room manager and the sommelier were not there to straighten things out. It's a shame because 1880 has so much potential. We were not the only ones to walk out that night. read more

We came over to the 1880 grill yesterday to meet up with some friends. We decided to order lunch and drinks. I ordered the cup of soup and 1/2 sandwich special, and a Budweiser . My husband also ordered the soup and sand. The soup was supposed to be vegetable. Not really sure what it was, but not vegetable, and really spicy. My husband sandwich had soup spilled on it in transit from kitch to table. The bread was soaked. When he discovered this he took the top piece of bread off to discover a lot of mayo..a lot...! I could not eat the soup and was offered a small bag of Fritos to take its place!? My 1/2 sandwich cost $8.00! And the Beer was $4.00. We continue to try giving them a chance to serve something good. Serve and be served without leaving upset. But has not happened in 4 years!! You still have to hunt down the waitress to be served and to get you ticket. Guess it will be a while before we go back.
