Literally set a reservation, come to find out, was for after they closed. We arrived at 9:30 at "1915 Steakhouse" and were still treated like priority guests. The place was empty which threw me off at first but it ended up feeling like a private dining experience. The Toasted Blue Cheese is Insane! Best blue cheese in the state hands down. The Alfredo linguine, add chicken was impressive! It was so good like olive garden put to shame. Im eating the pasta as a cold left over as i write this review and it's still excellent. We had reservations and walked right in and we're promptly seated. This is a very cute steakhouse with both indoor and a patio seating. The ambience is really cool. It's old wood and high ceilings. our server although prompt wasn't very friendly. My wife and I chose to split the Seabass and in lieu of a salad get mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus. I will say the Seabass tasted good, however, came out almost cold lukewarm the mashed potatoes again were tasty, but came out lukewarm. Asparagus on the other hand was delicious. Warm and tasty. We also had the corn ribs that were very good. I would highly recommend them. Our other friend got the halibut. She said it was cold and tasteless. She would not get it again and our other friends got a half rack of ribs which they said we're not smoky but had a decent flavor. We were really shocked when we got our bill not only did we pay $39 for a cold Seabass and potatoes but they charged us over $13 for a side of asparagus. I asked our waitress that I traded the salad for two sides and she said no it doesn't work that way. She said had I ordered the asparagus for my first side, The potatoes would've only been five dollars. She would not budge so before ordering I would highly recommend you get clarity on what you're being charged for because she certainly didn't tell us that no matter what you pay for a salad whether you get it or not and no substitution. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty full of people. Our server was right at our table with our water very quickly. Really cool building with a very nice ambiance to it. We started off with the shrimp ceviche it was really good just maybe a pop more of lime juice. My wife ordered the beef burgenion, I ordered the double bone in porkchop. Ordered appetizer the chips and corn dip - chips were stale; strike TWO. Ordered dinner wanted baked potato or the fingerling potatoes - "sorry our oven does not work;" strike THREE. Had to order mashed potatoes - served ice cold; strike FOUR. Ordered 1/2 side of ribs - menu said it came with slaw and french fries. Ribs came and the slaw was missing. Asked waitress and she said, "slaw only comes with a full slab of ribs, not 1/2 slab; waitress could have said, "I'll get you some." Strike FIVE. Food mediocre and over priced. We won't go back. I was so very excited for this place to be open and oh so disappointed with the experience. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to make it in Martinsville unless they bring in chefs that know how to cook steak. People will pay for a steak that is excellent, but will not pay for steak that is ordered medium rare and comes out well done. Moreover the sides were cold and the lettuce in the salad was old. On the plus side, the place is amazing! Beautiful inside!! The service was good and we got our table fast, but the reason you go to a restaurant is the food. We tried 1915 and were impressed! The atmosphere is warm and inviting with the exposed brick and wood beamed ceiling. I had the Beef Bourguignon over garlic mashed potatoes with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and roasted heirloom carrots. The flavors were rich and comforting, and the beef was tender. My husband ordered the filet with the add on shrimp -- a beautifully grilled steak with seasoned shrimp and crispy fingerling potatoes -- and loved every bite. Everything was hot, flavorful, and plated beautifully. The service was attentive and friendly, and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. 1915 is a great addition to the area -- we'll definitely be back. read more

Our first time eating at this restaurant. The building/atmosphere is very nice. We got there just before 4:00 on a Sunday. It wasn't busy at all when we walked in. We sat at the bar. The bartender wasn't as attentive as she should've been. She did get our drink order quick and made our drinks right away but we sat there about 10 minutes before she asked if we wanted bread. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an appetizer (great choice) then we ordered our meals. I ordered a sirloin, medium. My husband got the New York. The salads came out first and they had some kind of seeds all over it which tasted like burned peanuts ( not stated on the menu). When our steaks came out I noticed mine looked like a filet. It indeed was a filet and it was cooked medium rare so I had to send it back to be cooked a little longer. It was a really good steak but it wasn't what I ordered. It came with some kind of orange sauce and fingerling potatoes which were slightly warm and not good at all. My husband didn't eat his either. Overall, the steaks were great but the potatoes and salads weren't the best and neither was the service. We may give it one more try before we rule it out though. I got a piece of carrot cake to go. Service seemed to not want to pay attention to repeated requests for items. What we all had was good food, but I would not return to this overpriced eatery. This is my honest review. A steakhouse should be just that a steakhouse. I am not a big fan of tajin seasoning. The bread could have been a bit more upscale (maybe bring in a baker or something). The charred Brussel sprouts I wish would have had real bite size pieces of bacon and tossed in the hot honey rather than just a drizzle. The salad that came with the meal I could do without the tajin seasoned sunflower seeds (I know I could have asked for them not to be on the salad, but I didn't see that it came with that on it.) also what about a Caesar salad? The filet mignon could have been seasoned better also the prime ribeye was under seasoned and rather small compared to ones I can buy at the grocery store. The decor was nice very Martinsville, IN centered but the chairs were uncomfortable and I would like to have seen more booth options. Service from the host and our waitress was great! We had a party of 10 last night for our family Christmas dinner. The drinks were great. We all ordered entrees. Only 3 people in our party got their salads, the rest of the tables entrees showed up at the same time as the 3 salads. When we asked our waiter where the rest of our salads were, he said that they ran out. Okay? Some communication would have been nice or the option to add a side to our entrees since the salad was included. The food runner didn't know what dishes were what so some people were given the wrong dishes and realized they weren't correct after 1 or 2 bites. Some of the appetizers showed up at the same time as the entrees as well. Our scallops were the size of quarters and weren't great. The steaks were good. I think the majority of our issues came down to our server not knowing how to pace a meal or to even communicate with his guests. The chicken Marsala this time was almost like Alfredo and not similar at all to the first time we ordered it on a previous visit so there's some consistency issues as well. We were offered a piece of carrot cake for all of the issues. I understand things happen but for the price point- they need to have their s*** together. Consistency and customer experience are expected when you're charging $60+ a plate. read more

4 of us girls went for dinner, I am a fellow restaurant manager, even though the "service" overall was not good I do not blame the server I think he did fine with what he could control, however the bar took 20 minutes to get an amaretto sour and draft beer when there was three total tables in the whole restaurant, the food was okay, one of our girls did not enjoy the slaw, and I told them to avoid ordering steak, I saw that according to other reviews that steak temps are not their strong suit, overall I wish the quality of service was better for the price of a "high quality restaurant" read more

I recently visited for dinner with my family. It was early, and not very busy at the time. I enjoyed the atmosphere and thought the dining area was nice. Our server was attentive, knew the menu well and made appropriate suggestions. My issue was with the speed of food delivery. I was expecting more of a fine dining experience as compared to the rushed casual experience we received. Our appetizers arrived quickly, and were very good. Before we had a chance to pass them around the table and take time to enjoy them, our salads arrived. I was about to add a little more dressing when our entree arrived. Upon entering the restaurant with a reservation, all servers looked at the hostess and shook their heads no. The server that we (party of 6) had acted irritated that she had to work with our group. When I informed our server of a shellfish allergy, she stated that I may not be able to eat anything in the restaurant.
