very poor service. wanted a meal and a beer. arrived at 16:15 placed a drink order with one person, food order with a second. (maybe 5 other tables. only one with multable l guests). took @ 30 min. to get our food. fries overcooked. tenderloin just ok. had to wait for our ticket to leave. no one checked on our food for satisfaction, no one asked about additional drink desires. wife took her leftover hamburger for our dog after she had to ask at the bar for a container. should have listened to wife in the first place, she wanted to go to culvers. i suggested the whits inn because we had not been there since their recent changes. waisted over an hour for a less than desirable dinner. much better with the old mgmt, and second and third hand smoke. read more

Great place and great food! Employees are the best! Yes they allow smoking, but it's still a great place with outdoor seating

This is a bar in Whiteland Indiana. It is a smoking establishment. I say this as a precursor and not a knock on the business. As a non smoker, we order carry at least once a month. The staff is always friendly. The owner is always on site greeting everyone. I have had the hand breaded tenderloin and it's very good. The taco salad is also really fresh and good. My sons and I also really like the burgers. It's fresh beef and always good perfectly. Our FAVORITE is the pizza. It's the best pizza on the Southside of Indianapolis. Fresh ingredients, baked well and always hot. They also have a full bar and a calendar of events with live music and sports on tv. read more

I've been to Whit's Inn a handful of times spanning about ten years. I heard they were under new management too. I basically would go to meet some friends have a beer and maybe watch a band. I went recently but I've never tried their food before, so I thought I would give it a go. I probably should've ordered something besides an appetizer because it wasn't anything unique or special. It was basically frozen bag food that was deep-fried. I got jalapeño poppers and fried mushrooms. A friend got a pork tenderloin and she said it was good. Filthy environment and had an awful odor that I could smell even before I tried to open the door. I have to ask how the heck has this place not been shut down by the health inspector? The worst part though is the unprofessional online conduct I've observed by the owner which was extremely disappointing. this place is a joke you'll be over charged if you even ask questions you'll be badgered by the work staff on the clock and off. simply was asking my bartender Vince about my bill. thought he had it handle until his sister steps in telling me I need to keep straw tabs on my drinks !?? the fuck? watch out for the kitchen staff.... they sit at the bar on the clock smoking cigs while drinking... mostly likely for free,, kitchen staff is the muscle I guess for the bartenders. I was intimidated by the kitchen staff to by my over charger bill. First time visiting. I've seen advertising in our local magazine so I thought it was worth a try. If you are a smoker and heavy drinker this is the place for you. It seems to be a place that has a loyal customer base but our group definitely felt out of place. Inside has dark bar atmosphere. We sat on patio which was not very clean. Tenderloin and burger was ok. Ribeye and no flavor and baked potato was over cooked. Not the place for me but if loud drunk people and heavy smoke I'd your thing, then give it a try. read more

A wonderful, fun environment! Stopped in with my mom Thursday night and there was a live band that was really energetic and interactive. They played a mix of different music, which most people could sing along to. There is a patio area that had a lot of outdoor seating and was well-kept. Our server was extremely nice and was very friendly with the everyone and knew the regular customers by name. It is definitely a fun, local bar. We ordered two beers each and Tim's Munchies, which is a build-your-own combo basket. We got the cream cheese poppers, fried pickle spears (which didn't come out as spears), and the breaded mushrooms. All the food was decent fried food that was better than any fast food establishment. Overall, the staff is all very friendly, the live music is a very good compliment to the bar, and the food is above average. This was my friend and I's first Meal at Whit's Inn. We visited during lunch hours. I ordered the Breaded Tenderloin Meal, with Tater-Tots for the side, and the best Ranch Dressing I have ever consumed in my entire life. The Owner was extremely friendly, warm, welcoming, and carried on a conversation well. The food was cooked fresh, portioned generously, and was a great price. The food was not bad. We had the BLT which was OK. We also ordered the breaded tenderloin which was good. The french fries were good and a nice size serving. We ordered the nachos and salsa which was a huge disappointment. The salsa tasted like crushed tomatoes with no seasoning. At five bucks a pop definitely not worth it! They have chosen to be a smoking establishment. There were however tons of people smoking so it was very smoky. It started out good, we had an older waitress and she was very nice. The other waitresses who waited on us were decent as well. It was a mixed crowd. Definitely a dive bar atmosphere. We were unfortunate enough to have a group of men sit next to us who discussed and bragged loudly and with unrestrained vulgarity about all the women they had used and screwed. Our night out was spent hearing them talk loudly about their use of various women, and the things they do in great detail. They bragged about their own abilities and the size of their manhood. It was pretty bad! I would be a little more descriptive about the things they talked about but yelp would probably not approve my review. These guys were regulars as everyone of the waitresses knew who they were by name. I watched as one particular man at the table put his hands on each of the waitresses, he was the most vulgar of them all. Sitting at the other table next to us was a waitress who works there but had the day off. We know this because she pretty much announced it. The guys at the other table asked her if she was working to which she replied loudly as though she were advertising "no I'm just trying to find somebody to have dinner with. " She kept flirting with one of the guys at the other table, even sending him a drink to which he ignored her. She kept inserting herself in their business. Seriously are you that desperate? I didn't take long before she was trying to insert herself into mine and my husbands time together. Really?! We squashed that pretty fast, but she kept trying. We wanted to stay much longer, but between the off-duty waitress who obviously wanted to get laid by anybody who would have her, and the whore dogs on the other side we called it a night. We gave it a try, wish we had kept on going to the Willard where we were heading. Sorry but we won't be back. We could chuck it up and say it was just that one time, but obviously she works there and they are regulars so it's probably common place. read more

I went to Whit's Friday night and all the bar tenders was drunk. There is a bar tender name is Amy. She was drunk and working. Also the food was cold and not right. I ask for a manager and she was off the clock and drunk also. There was another bar tender name Amy and she was fighting with a customer over a guy. If you want to have bar tenders that are drunk and cold and your order wrong then this is the place for. After reading the last review this is so true about this bar. If you smoke or want to smell like an ashtray then this is your spot. I didn't get try the food because the smoke smell was so over baring that we left before ordering. I guess we are spoiled now from the majority of all stores and restaurants we visit are smoke free. read more

Small whole in the wall bar with lots of locals, great food, local bands and cold beer. Walk in here and everyone knows your name...Like Cheers ;) In the summer they have outdoor seating and a garage door that opens so you can hear the music. You can't go wrong with any of the food here. The tenderloins are made by hand, the bacon cheeseburgers are better than any bar I have ever been too, the pizza is delicious, all the apps are good too. The only con is smoking is allowed throughout the whole bar. read more

We been their 1 other time and when we decided to support our locals this is one we decided to try again . This place wow ! If you like the smell of grass and cigarettes , and if you like a dirty place to eat and drink bud light or coors then this is the place for you . The cook was drinking in the back, the servers smoking behind the bar. NO ONE WAS WASHING THEIR HANDS. The locals get all the service. I'm struggling a little to figure out how to rate this one. 2.5 is probably accurate, but Yelp doesn't give us that option. The good--the burgers are tasty, fries are good. Definitely better than any fast food burger around and the price is right. The so so--service. It seems to go from non-existent to stellar, depending on the day. I never know what to expect. The bad--it's smoky. I know, they choose to be a smoking establishment, and I'm OK with that. BUT--as an entertainer, I've worked in far more than my share of smoky bars--but this one is by far the smokiest in any state I've ever traveled to. Tried Whits Inn for carry out during the quarantine. Tenderloin was good, burgers were good. Onion rings were terrible, fries okay. They messed up both burgers missing bacon on the bacon cheeseburger and adding mayo to a non mayo burger. Nothing real special that would bring me back unless I'm starving and right there. I'm trying to order from the smaller privately owned shops during this time but I probably won't get this again. read more

Absolutely love this hometown bar! The food is amazing, the drinks are cheap, and the staff is attentive and amazing!

My husband and I have both been here several times for the live music and awesome food. Have to give two stars for the service though. It seems every time either of us have been there, one bartender in particular is always there and is too busy smoking, eating, or chatting with a grumpy older waitress to tend to the bar. We also often find her screaming at customers and sometimes coworkers. It changes the whole atmosphere of the bar whenever she does it. I would give more stars if it wasn't for her. I know there are staff shortages everywhere, but a bartender like that is just awful to be served by. We've had to leave early a few times because she had such a bad attitude and was so rude to us and everyone else near us. We try to go when the younger gal with tattoos is working behind the bar because we are always served immediately with a smile, we're checked on often, and she maneuvers the bar like a dream making sure everyone is taken care of. I don't remember her name, but I'll get it next time we come in and update the review so people know to request her when they come in. I definitely would give five stars for the food alone if I could, though! The breaded tenderloin, beef tips, and nachos are our favorite things to order and they're always fresh and delicious. read more

My husband and I come in for dinner all the time and have never had anything less than a fabulous experience. Our meals are always fresh and yummy and it feels great to go somewhere people know you and are genuinely glad to see you. We've brought multiple friends and family from out of town to Whit's Inn with us and whenever they're back in town they always request to come back! Five stars all the way! Moved to whiteland a month ago been coming to witts inn every night to watch the ball games for a week and a half randomly a new waitress shows ups and says I have to start a tab in order to place an order off the menu and have drinks at the same time . Had this been done since the start we would have had an issue but it's not been that way since we started coming . Either be consistent or ditch the bogus waitress ..... read more
