My last review was over five years ago. As of this update, I still eat here regularly, both dining in and carrying out. The food is still great, and the service too. Today I ordered the Filet Migon which comes in 3oz medallions, a Baked Potato, and a Salad. I also ordered a side or Mesquite Grilled Shrimp. The granddaughter ordered the Streak Tips, Fries and Mac n Cheese. All of my food was good except the shrimp, not that it was bad or cooked improperly, it was just a bit too spicy for my system. The granddaughter ordered dessert. She chose the Ooey Gooey Brownie and took it home. After we got home, I was in the garage for about 5 minutes and when I walked into the house that dessert was gone. LOL read more

THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS!!!!! I arrived with my husband of 58 years. (it was our 58th anniversary) and we ordered ribs and a serloin, right off the bat when I told the waiter it was our anniversary she just rolled her eyes and asked for our drink. I found that a little rude... but after this we were going to the casino so I wanted to get this over with because I wanted to go to the casino. she FINALLY gave us our meal 20 minutes later and the food? Was alright.. not good, not bad, but As we were leaving my stomach started hurting. We decided to try this again after about 7 or 8 years. Last time wasn't good. So we never returned until tonight. We're local so it's not far. Well we remember why we never came back. Met a friend for dinner at Texas Coral this evening and shortly after being seated my friend spotted a cock roach crawling on the booth where I was sitting. I took a napkin and grabbed it and took it to the bathroom to dispose of it. After washing my hands and returning to my table my friend asked to speak to the manager. He came by and was very cavalier about the whole thing. He said "Oh, you only found one?" WTF ??? My response to him was "I wonder how many are all over the kitchen?" He didn't answer that question but went onto say "it used to be a lot worse, we have a new exterminator now" Should have gotten up and left at that moment. Sit down after a long day and it was delicious! Our waitress was perfect, kept coming with the waters and stopped enough but not too often. The food was fast. we had an onion flower and stuffed mushrooms to start, very good mushrooms. My husband said the loaded mashed potatoes were the best he's had. This is our first time at Texas Corral. It's not a chain, but a small business. You see it on 37, but getting to it is a bit tricky. You can get a sandwich or you can get a steak. That's always nice because usually everyone can find something they would like. Our waitress Adora was very nice and helpful. She was patient and willing to help in anyway possible. Our soup and salads came extremely quick. We were hungry so we appreciated that. She was nice and understood that we didn't want our food right away. She gave us time to enjoy the appetizers and our soup and salads. Out came out food and it looked magnificent. The mashed potatoes are real, not instant by any means. I had two pieces of chicken fried chicken. One piece was very tender and juicy. The other pice was so over fried that it was rock hard and dry as a bone. I will come back and eat here again. The service was pleasant, but the meal was a bit disappointing. My wife ordered the the chicken sandwich with a side of fries. She was very polite and knowledge of their menu. She was prompt and made sure we had everything we needed. The only issue we had was with the steak.
