We initially made contact with 1st choice after my sister recommend them and since we were prepping for a family road trip we wanted to be road trip ready. We knew we had some mechanical issues but didn't know the extent of them but felt like we were in good hands with John and his team. John communicated with us every step of the way and also went out of his way to work with figuring out what issues would be covered under our powertrain warranty with the dealer. John and Poon are a honest and trustworthy team of people who you can trust with your vehicle repair. Once you find a great mechanic it's hard to go anywhere else. I believe this is that place. I had my Cadillac Escalade taken there for an issue with a oil sensor. I researched the problem online and thought I had diagnosed it. Unfortunately what I thought was the issue was something else so I thought I would take it to the dealership...they recommended a new motor to the tune of 10k. I immediately went to John and we went over a few of the options to try to repair the oil pressure issue before going the route of replacing the motor. Fortunately they were able to fix the problem and now the motor runs smoothly and strong. They kept me in the loop of what they saw and diagnosed everything meticulously letting me know every step of the way what to expect. They even took care of me Christmas Eve when my starter went out unexpectedly. They are great people that are upfront and honest and fair with their pricing. Great customer service. Had to bring in my 2008 Chevy Suburban several times for EVAP system causing the check engine light to come on, each time it read a different OBD code. After they replaced several components and the engine light still came back with another different code John dismantled the entire system free of charge in order to diagnose the problem. Since then I haven't had the engine light turn on. John gladly took the time to explain everything about the system so that I understood how and why the EVAP can become so problematic. This is one of the best private garages that I have ever done business with. My 2013 Audi Q7 recently needed to have the rear AC condenser replaced. I took it to the local Audi dealer and they quoted me a princely sum that made my eyeballs bleed. I called four private garages to get estimates. Three of them would not touch it. AC of my wife's 2008 Saturn Aura suddenly wasn't working, there was no wind blowing out of the vents. I searched on yelp in the evening and got prompt response from 1st choice autoworks who were able to schedule me for an inspection next day morning as I had to go out pf town. I took the car and was welcomed by John. He is a really friendly guy. After initial inspection, John told me one other issue of the water pump which was more alarming (the AC problem was just the fan not working due to a broken resister). He took me to the car inspection area and showed me where are all the issues. Clearly explained all the pros and cons. I never saw my car like that from the bottom. Then, John and Poon tried their best to find me a great deal. I scheduled my appointment the very next day and they fixed all the problems and the car is running smooth now. Poon even dropped me off and picked me up after the fix were done. So thankful for that. I really appreciate how John knows all the details of the business, how he goes beyond to help us get the best deal on parts and explains all the problems with great patience. I would not take vehicle to this place. We took our vehicle in to get a diagnostic test to see what work needs to be done(has a lot of miles on it but drove just fine). They told us it was going to be big $$$$$ so we decided we will just pass and wait. The front desk told us to give them 20 minutes and the car will be ready, well we gave them way more than that and when my husband went to go pick up car the glove box was still out and the car was not ready. Still at that point no big deal, a little annoyed but ok. So my husband proceeds home and the car is not going above 30-40 mph and when at stop sign the car almost dies on him and smoke is coming out of engine. We luckily get it home and fluid is just poring out of car. All the coolant fluid came out. The car should have been returned the way we had it but it was much much worse than before. Definitely never going to them again, we actually had to get a new car when we weren't ready to get one yet! Gave them 1 star because I had too read more

I am so impressed! I am a single mom on one income- I am always weary when having to go to anyone other than the dealership for my cars. I absolutely had to go to an "outsider" for help. Recently was in an accident -insurance wasn't an option... ran over a curb last weekend and heard a noise and was so worried I would wind up with a huge car bill ( btw my paycheck has been delayed as I am on short term disability and while the government shut down is over now all my money has not arrived and won't arrive until they can all get back to work and updated thanks Trump) I looked over the yelp reviews I always look over the dates that they have been reviewed everything was five stars when I talked with John on the phone he was able to get me right in just happened to be a day where they were particularly busy and he handled each customer with the same courtesy and time as he handled me I was even able to get a discount for being a nurse. I have never gotten a discount for being a nurse. He also said they found a leak where my oriole was coming from I was skeptical that immediately John said I think this is covered under Kia's warranty and he called Kia and dealt with their service manager who ended up telling him absolutely it was covered under warranty when John called me back he was very excited to tell me not to worry but it would be covered under my warranty. John could have said nothing had me call Kia or let me just drive home, but he didn't they were honest they were on top of it and I had my car back within the same day.
