While this is at least $20 more than I've been charged at other Adveda salons (6 mos ago) , It is certainly their prerogative to charge that fee. The main issues are their business practices and a major discrepancy between the prices listed on their website ($80 and up for root touch up) and what they are actually charging. I brought this to their attention over the phone the day after the service, and the response I got, presumably from the owner, was that she didn't know where I was seeing that. I clearly reiterated that I was looking at their website, and that if the prices listed weren't current, they needed to be updated. I also did not receive a receipt at the time of service. I later requested it, and was told that it would be texted to me, but I never received it. I decided to write this review after reading another review from three years ago that mirrored my own experience--charged much higher than fees listed on the website with no receipt for service given. I am now feeling a bit dubious about the way they do business, and suspect that there might be different prices for the same service, for different people. I will acknowledge that I neglected to verify the fee when I made the appointment, which is something I always typically do. I also waited for a half hour past my appointment to be seen (without explanation or acknowledgment of the delay) but I have also experienced this at another local aveda salon.
