I had an all out Defcon 1 hair emergency. I stupidly missed my appointment time with my regular hair stylist and I am leaving the country with my beautiful wife today. This would not be good. But thank the Heavens for The Gentlemen's Parlor. I called and was able to get an appointment with James. I walked in for my set time and he was there waiting for me. I'm clueless about hair styles, but he expertly sized up my hair and crafted an excellent haircut. He took his time and asked a lot of questions and offered some great conversation. Last Saturday I was running errands and had to fit in a haircut for my stepson, I called and had an appointment for 45 minutes later. Perfect! Now my stepson is 12 usually dreads getting a haircut because he hates when it turns out bad. On a whim I decided to take him here, Randy was his barber and gave him exactly what he asked for. This place is a joke. I came in an hour before they closed as I walk in and sit down. Two guys cutting, one guy sitting on the bench waiting. After sitting on the bench for about five minutes, one of the guys come up to me and asks "do you have an appointment?" I'm not from the area, so I reply no, don't you guys take walkins? I don't always have a set haircut I get--yet with some rough descriptions and a brief conversation with Charles, he is able to pull the image of what I want out of my head and make it a reality. I also appreciate how easy Charles makes it to reach him, whether it's through a simple call or text, we are always able to set up a time that works well for me--which is key since I work a traditional 9-5. Charles is the man! I've been having my hair cut by him for the last six months or so since moving to the area and he has always been on point. Professional, accommodating when I call at the last minute, and he does great work. Today I called him, on a Sunday when the shop is closed, and he took me in and cleaned me up anyway.
