Super chill place for quiet time for yourself. The art work is amazing and the employees are very nice. They make you feel so welcomed. They do not trust their own coffee beans here. It's from a local roaster from Forked River in Ocean. They do carry almond, soy and coconut milk if you ask. I found another wonderful coffee place to frequent. read more

I was looking for a coffee place in the area since my wife was at a function at the Shore Casino.. this place doesn't disappoint! Nice cafe vibe with some delicious options! I chose the Nutella Latte which was super yummy! They had fresh muffins next to the register, so I had to try the Pumpkin Crumb muffin AND the Zucchini Walnut Raisin muffin... dude, these were seriously scrumptious and moist! I will definitely be coming back when in the area! And the barista was super nice and sweet.. I didn't catch her name but she was just so pleasant! Sometimes when you walk into a new place, people give you the vibe that they are doing you a favor by serving you your order.. this place was so comfortable and welcoming, that I totally felt at ease and just couldn't wait to enjoy my drink and treats! I've been to the newer 1st cup location, and I think I prefer this one. There's a cozier vibe here. Coffee is always good, and my croissant, though I usually love Balthazar croissants, was a bit stale, so that was disappointing. But if in the area, I would definitely come again. read more

This might be my favorite coffee place in Monmouth county. I know Rook dominates the area and they are good but I real as if this place just beats them out in every way. It's not too busy, there are plenty of options, the price is on par with every other coffee place and the staff has always been great. The cold brew is one of the best I have had. They will even blend it with a banana and make it like a slushie which I haven't had elsewhere. So points for that as well. Just another great place for Atlantic Highlands. read more

Still the best up of coffee in Atlantic Highlands. Try the first up shake with a bit of peanut butter & chocolate, it's my favorite drink to order. When I'm not down the shore, I have all week to drink subpar coffee and daydream about this place. The owner, Bob, is about the nicest guy you'll meet (and he'll remember your name, too, even if you've been in there once). 1st Cup has a variety of all those fancy offerings, but what stands out is a regular hot cup of either their medium roast or my favorite, the Kenya Dark Roast. First Cup of Coffee always makes a great cup of coffee. I'm a huge fan of their coffee and I'm very picky about coffee. I personally, buy my own beans and make my own blend using Lavazza Beans. I have a full on espresso machine. In another life, I think I might have been a barista. So when I say this place has great coffee, I mean it and I know what I'm talking about. Not to mention their space has a great atmosphere that makes you want to hang for awhile. read more

So usually on my way to Sandyhook I stop and grab a decaf . But the last couple of times I have stopped at the DD near Sandyhook and have been truly disappointed. Not sure what is the issue with DD in this town and went on a search for a coffee place in town. Came across this place via yelp. And I will never stop at a DD on my way to Sandyhook, as long as this place is open. Literally 10 minutes from Sandyhook and so worth the visit. I ordered a large decaf latte and it was perfect. I was also impressed with the young lady behind the counter. She knew most of her customers name as well as there orders. read more

Coming from North Jersey where we don't have anything but chains, I'm in love with this place and so glad I got to try it! This is my first time here, and it definitely won't be my last. I went to get a cold brew, but unfortunately they were out. Instead, the guy here made me an Americano over ice, and charged me the same price as a cold brew. He was outgoing and quite friendly, and this is what local businesses are all about! The coffee was excellent and it was well worth the wait! Please try this place the next time you're in the area! I love this coffee shop. Firstly, everyone that works here makes you feel at home. The coffee is much better than anything you get at Starbucks and the atmosphere is really Welcoming. I ended up doing some computer work here and socializing for the afternoon. I felt at home and at ease. I ended up meeting lots of local people from the surrounding areas everyone was so nice. I highly recommend the Dirty Chai latte, Berry Banana smoothies, the Sumatra Dark coffee, and the Cold brew Iced coffee (before they run out into). Needless to say I will be back! It's really great to have an excellent coffee shop in town now, for the first time. There is a great selection of espresso-based drinks, as well as coffee, iced coffee, and fruits smoothies. We enjoyed our espresso and iced latte, as well as a great pastry. The people next to us ordered smoothies and were raving about how delicious they were. The store is the tastefully decorated, and it looks like they even do open mic nights and other local events.
